Symbiosis International University (SIU), Pune has announced the exam dates for Ph.D Entrance Test (PET-2016), which will be conducted in June 2016. The SIU PET will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016. SIU PET is conducted for taking admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programs offered in Law, Management, Computer Studies, Media, Communication and Design, Health and Biomedical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Engineering disciplines for the session 2016.

Eligibility:

®     Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant subject with 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from any University recognized by Association of Indian

®     Universities (AIU) in India (SC, ST candidates will get 5% relaxation in marks or equivalent CGPA).

®     In case of candidates holding a qualifying degree from a foreign university, registration for PhD will be confirmed after determination of equivalence by SIU

®     Master’s degree or equivalent in any subject with 55% marks and minimum of 5 years of work experience, in the area of interdisciplinary research in which admission is being sought.

®     M.Phil. with 55% marks or equivalent grade, CGPA.

®     Fellow members of the Chartered Accountants of India (CA) or Institute of Costs and Works of India (ICWA) or Company Secretary of India, CFA (USA) with 55% marks at graduation level and with 5 years f experience after graduation, (only for the Faculties of Law, Management and Humanities and Social Sciences)

®     In case of exceptional candidates who have extraordinary contribution in the field of proposed research, the eligibility conditions may be relaxed for admission to PhD programme at the sole discretion of Vice Chancellor.

®     International candidates (NRIs, Foreign Nationals and PIOs who have obtained Master’s degree from foreign universities) are required to qualify IELTS with 6.5 score or IELA Test (Band 3) of Symbiosis ELTIS, an equivalent test for English language proficiency.

Admission Procedure:

·      The details regarding the entrance test and the number of vacancies in each faculty shall be notified by the University in the month of April, May.

·      The entrance test for admission to PhD (PET) program shall be conducted by the University once in an academic year, on the fourth Sunday in the month of June

·      The Candidate shall apply online for admission to Ph. D program on the university website as per the admission notification.

·      The candidate shall also upload the ‘Proposed Research idea’ along with the application.

·      The ‘Proposed Research idea’ shall detail the proposed research area and plan of action.

·      The entrance test for the Ph. D program shall be of multiple choice questions of 75 marks and of 1 hour 30 minutes duration.

·      It shall comprise of the following sections.

Selection and Marks:

English Language Proficiency: 25
Logical and Mental Ability: 25
Research Aptitude: 25
Total Marks: 75

A list of candidates qualifying the Entrance test shall be uploaded on the University Website.

The eligible and qualified candidates shall be short listed for personal interview in July by the PhD.

®     Admission to the PhD programme is confirmed only after successful completion of course work and approval of the Research Proposal by the Doctoral Committee (DC).

®     Research Scholars who undergo course work shall submit a research proposal, duly recommended by the Research Guide(s) within 3 months of successful completion of course work.

®     In case of non-submission of the research proposal within the prescribed period, the research scholar may apply for extension in the prescribed Proforma (Annexure 3).

®     The Dean of the Faculty, on the recommendation of Research Guide(s) may grant an extension for a maximum period of three months. If the candidate fails to submit the proposal.

Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Institute for the Physically Handicapped is an autonomous organization under the administrative and financial control of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The Institute for the Physically Handicapped came into being when the erstwhile Jawahar Lal Nehru Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and other allied institution run by the council for the Aid of crippled & handicapped were taken over by the Government of India on 22nd May 1975 and converted into an autonomous body in the year 1976. It was renamed after Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya in the year 2002.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has announced the exam dates for Joint Entrance Examination (JEHOM-2016), which will be conducted in May 2016. The JEHOM 2016 will be held on Sunday, May 08, 2016. JEHOM is conducted for taking admission to Bachelor in Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) program in the state of West Bengal for the session 2016.

Eligibility Criteria for JEHOM 2016:

·         The applicant must be a citizen of India.

·         Candidate should have passed, appeared in 10+2 level examination in regular mode from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or from any other equivalent board.

·         Candidate must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B category) at the qualifying examination.

SASTRA is located on the Thanjavur-Tiruchirapalli highway at a distance of 17 km from Thanjavur and 40 km from Tiruchirapalli. The reputed Saraswathi Mahal Library houses over 30,000 Indian and European manus written on palm leaves & paper and are meticulously preserved for posterity.

Thanjavur is famous for its distinctive art style in painting, which is usually a combination of brazed and painted surfaces. These paintings have the figures and the background richly embellished with gold leaves and gems as ornaments. The town is well known for its historic traditions in art, music, dance and culture and also offers the right blend of modern entertainment. The Utkal University, established in the year 1943, is the seventeenth oldest University in India. Its present campus at Vani Vihar,BHUBANESWAR is located on a sprawling 399.9 Acre area in the heart of BHUBANESWAR, with the Sainik School to its north, National High way No.5 to its south, Regional Research Laboratory and Institute of Physics to its west and the South Eastern Railway line to its east.
