About College:

The Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU) has been established by an Act of Parliament called the Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University Act, 2013 at Fursatganj Raebareli, Dist. Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. In order to sustain the steady growth in civil aviation sector in India observed over the past decade, the market shall require a strong pipeline of professionally qualified workforce. Recognizing this need, Ministry of Civil Aviation proposed the establishment of a national aviation university which shall promote and facilitate aviation studies and research to produce quality human resources to cater to the needs of the aviation industry. The Cabinet approved the proposal to set up “Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University” under the administrative control of MoCA as a central university under an act of parliament. About 26.35 acres of land available with IGRUA was identified for setting of NAU in its first phase of establishment (2013-2019). After approval by EFC (Expenditure Finance Committee) and the Cabinet, a bill was introduced in the Parliament and finally the Act came into force on 19th September 2013.

Duration: 18 Months including 6 months internship

Essential Qualification & Upper Age Limit for Admission:

Essential Qualification: Any Bachelor degree with 55% aggregate marks. 50% for SC/ST candidates, Student awaiting results can also be considered, subject to condition that they have appeared or will be appearing for final examination in 2019 and will be able to submit the marks Sheet latest by 31st July 2019.

Upper Age Limit: 25 years as on 31st July 2019 for all categories.

Selection Criteria:

An OMR based entrance examination will be conducted at specified centres on All India basis. The selection of the candidates will be based on the marks scored in the entrance exam. A minimum of 40 percentile would be the cut-off criteria for the candidates to be considered for next level of screening i.e. Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview, as decided by the University. However, the decision of the University in this regard shall be final and binding on all.

How to Apply:

The on-line application can be filled up and submitted by accessing the RGNAU website with effect from 15^th April, 2019. The application fee is Rs. 1500/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 750/- for SC/ST/PWD categories. The fee is non-refundable; bank or payment gateway service charges must be borne by the applicant.

About College:

The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MOP&NG), Government of India set up The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) at Jais, Dist. Amethi, Uttar Pradesh through an Act of Parliament (“Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology Act 2007"). RGIPT has been accorded the eminence of being an “ Institute of National Importance” along the lines of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). The Institute is empowered to award degrees in its own right. RGIPT is co-promoted as an energy domain specific institute by six leading Oil Public Sector Units (ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL and HPCL) in association with the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB) [ This however does not bind them to preferentially recruit from RGIPT ]. Eligibility:

For Regular Category:

1.      B. Tech / B. Engg in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Petroleum Technology & Chemical Engineering or chemical engineering or equivalent degree with minimum aggregate marks of 60% for general category and 50% for reserved category.

2.      GATE / Non-GATE candidates’ entry criteria: 

For candidates with valid GATE score, shortlisting for interview will depend on the cut-off score decided for each program.

For candidates WITHOUT GATE score (essentially the sponsored candidates), for academic year 2018-19, selection will be through a written exam and/or interview. Decision to conduct this written exam to be made depending on the number of GATE applicants in the program.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and interview. Final selection will be made based on the performance in written test/interview, GATE score and previous academic performances taken together.

Eligibility for Sponsorship Category:

Sponsorship basis: Valid GATE score is not required. These candidates will have to qualify in a subject-wise written test/interview. Such candidates will not be eligible for M.Tech. scholarship. The candidate should have worked for the sponsoring organization for at least two years and need to submit a No Objection Certificate, leave approval for at least two years and the company should guarantee continued employment during the period of study.

How to Apply:

Admission Form should be submitted online before the last date as specified under “Important Dates” by paying necessary application fee. Candidates are need to bring all the documentary evidences in original (testimonials, certificates, publications, work experience and research/professional experience) along with a self attested photocopy of each at the time of interview.

Demand Draft

Application fee payment can be made through Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.400/- (Rs.200/- for SC/ST/PwD/Female candidates) drawn in favour of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, payable at Bangalore. The candidate should write his/her Name, Address, Phone number, and Email ID on the back side of the Demand Draft.

Online Application: Eligible candidates should apply Online for admission by filling up online application form given on the website.

Application Fee (Non Refundable): Non-refundable Application fee should be submitted before filling of application form. Payment of the application fee should be made through NEFT/RTGS.
