Course Name:

Ph.D. in Economics (Full Time)

Eligibility:

Master’s degree/M.Phil.degree in Economics from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or CGPA equivalent to B Plus in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from time to time.

Admission Process:

A two-stage process is followed for admission to IIFT Ph.D. Programme.

Stage I: All the eligible candidates will be called for the Written Entrance Test, comprising of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, Econometrics & Mathematics (at least up to Graduate Level) and the Descriptive Test to judge the writing skill of candidates on a subject-specific contemporary issue. It is important to note that the Written Entrance Test is a screening test.

Stage II: Candidates who would qualify in the Written Entrance Test will be called for the Interview*

Eligibility:

Indian Scholars

Ph.D. in Management (Full Time):

Master’s degree/M.Phil.degree in any discipline (including IIFT MPIB) from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or CGPA equivalent to B Plus in aggregate.

OR

Diploma courses which are considered equivalent to Master’s Degree (e.g., PGDIM from IIMs) with 55% marks or CGPA equivalent to B Plus, recognized by AICTE/UGC would be considered. In such cases candidates would be required to produce the necessary certificate(s) from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (noncreamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from time to time.

Ph.D. in Management (Part Time):

(b) A minimum of three years relevant experience in Teaching/Research/Industry is required.

Overseas Scholars

•      Overseas candidates those who are having Master’s/M.Phil. Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or CGPA equivalent to B Plus in aggregate can apply only for IIFT’s full time Ph.D. programme.

•      Minimum knowledge of spoken and written English is essential.

There is no scholarship, residential / hostel facility available for overseas scholars in the Institute. However, the Institute can help in search of suitable accommodation for scholars admitted into Ph.D. Programme

Admission Process:

A two-stage process is followed for admission to IIFT Ph.D. Programme.

Eligibility:

Admission to Executive Programmes will be offered by the Institute based on candidates’ fulfilment of eligibility conditions and ability to synchronise programme objectives with personal career goals. The Executive Programme is open to working managers and self-employed individuals who meet the following criteria:

·         Post-Graduate Degree/Engineering Degree or equivalent from any recognised University or Institution and managerial work experience of THREE years. OR Graduation or equivalent degree from any recognised University or Institution and managerial work experience of FIVE years.

·         Only the work experience after meeting the eligibility qualifications, as on 30th April 2018 will be considered.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

(For Foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates)

·         Recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years' duration with minimum 50% marks.

·         Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by 7th October 2019.

·         In order to qualify as an international candidate for the purpose of applying to IIFT entrance exam, a candidate should have been (expected to be) resident outside India for a period of not less than 18 months as on 31st December 2018 and be outside India during the IIFT examination window. The Indian nationals who are living, working, studying abroad should produce with application a certificate from the Indian Embassy / High Commission /Consulate of the country where the candidate is currently based, stating that the candidate has been resident in that country continuously for a period of not less than 18 months as on 31st December 2018.

·         Foreign Nationals need to have a valid passport/travel document from a country other than India. The Foreign Nationals who are present in India at the time of IIFT entrance test are required to take the same.

·         The candidate should produce Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) score which should be received by the Institute latest by 15th February 2019. GMAT taken before 1st January 2017 is not valid.

·         If the candidate has appeared for any MBA entrance examination for that year in India (2018) such as CAT /XAT /IIFT, etc., he /she is not eligible to apply.

·         NRI-Sponsored candidates and Children of NRIs are not considered under this category.

Mode of Admission:

·         The admission of candidates under this category is on the basis of GMAT score and interview.

·         Shortlisted candidate would be required to undergo a Personal Interview at IIFT campus. Candidates called for this will have to make their own travel arrangements. In case they are not able to be physically present, they would be interviewed through Skype.

The Indian Institute of Fashion Technology, Established in the year 2001, has been imparting professional training to the students. It has now evolved into a state of art, ultra modern and premier, multi disciplinary Training Institute in the core areas of Fashion and Apparel Technology and Management. Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline.

Mode of Admission
