About College:

Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore was established in 1952. SGSITS is recognized as a leading institute in the state of Madhya Pradesh and the western region consistently during its glorious journey of sixty years. It has been ranked among top 30-40 institutes on national level (including IITs and NITs) by independent bodies. Further looking to its credentials, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi, has declared the institute as autonomous in 1989. Course Name:

Master of Engineering/Technology (ME/MTech)

Eligibility:

A candidate seeking admission to M.E./M.Tech. Courses should have passed Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category SC/ST/OBC (excluding creamy layer) categories of Madhya Pradesh) in the qualifying Examination. The qualifying degree should have been obtained from any AICTE approved institution or Indian University or from a foreign University recognised by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or institute recognized by the AIU or any Institutes of national importance (i.e. IITs/IISc/ NITs etc.), duly recognized by the MHRD, as equivalent thereto.

Course Name:

M.E. Part Time

Eligibility:

For seeking admission in part time course, Candidate must have at least 02 (two) years of experience in the relevant field after passing the qualifying examination. Experience should be from recognized institute i.e; Central/State Govt. Department, public or private sector, Undertakings located in M.P. and engaged in production/Maintenance/Construction in engineering field. In case of contractors they must be at least class 'A' Contractor.

Master of Pharmacy (MPharma)

Eligibility:

A candidate seeking admission to M. Pharmacy Courses should be a Graduate in pharmacy with at least 55% marks, Candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC (excluding creamy layer) categories of Madhya Pradesh with at least 50% marks. Bachelor’s degree be of minimum of four years duration and should have been obtained from any AICTE approved institution or Indian University or from a foreign University recognised by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or institute recognized by the AIU or any Institutes of national importance (i.e. IITs/IISc/ NITs etc.), duly recognized by the MHRD, as equivalent thereto.

Eligibility:

Admissions to M.Sc. courses are given in Regular (Non-Sponsored) category (Without Scholarship). For seeking admission in M.Sc. courses, candidates must have B.Sc. degree (10+2+3 Stream) in appropriate discipline with minimum 45% marks.

Selection criterion will be as per the guidelines of Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya (DAVV), Indore.

About College:

Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology is a unit of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, engaged in R & D in non-nuclear front line research areas of Lasers, Particle Accelerators & related technologies. RRCAT was established by the Department of Atomic Energy, India to expand the activities carried out at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, in two frontline areas of science and technology namely Lasers and Accelerators. On February 19, 1984 the President of India, Gyani Zail Singh, laid the foundation stone of the centre. Construction of laboratories and houses began in May 1984.

Ph.D. programme in specialized areas of Physical, Chemical, Life and Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) Sciences

Eligibility:

Qualification:

For Physical Sciences: M.Sc. degree in Physics with a minimum of 60% overall marks, and must have qualified Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST-2018) and/or CSIR-UGC NET (December 2016 or June/December 2017: JRF, not lecturership).

For Chemical Sciences: M.Sc. degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 60% overall marks, and must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET (December 2016 or June/December 2017: JRF, not lecturership)/ GATE (i.e., GATE-2016/ GATE-2017/ GATE-2018).

For Life Sciences: M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences/ Biotechnology with a minimum of 60% overall marks, and must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET (December 2016 or June/ December 2017: JRF, not lecturership)/ BET-2017/ GATE (i.e., GATE-2016/ GATE-2017/ GATE-2018). Candidates having M.Sc. degree in Botany/ Agricultural Science background need not apply.

For Engineering Sciences: Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent degree in Mechanical / Thermal/ Production / Mechatronics Engineering / Manufacturing/ Material Science, with First class or at least 60% marks or at least 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale and must have qualified GATE (i.e., GATE-2016/ GATE-2017/ GATE-2018). The candidate must have Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Production/ Materials Engineering.

Those applicants who are completing the qualifying degree in summer of 2018 can also apply, provided they have minimum of 60% overall marks in the completed semesters. If selected, the final degree mark sheet should be submitted by 1st November 2018. Continuation in the Ph.D. programme will be subject to the candidate obtaining minimum 60% marks overall (converted to percentage as per the concerned university’s rules). 5 year integrated M.S. (of IISERs) will be treated at par with 5 year integrated M.Sc.

Nationality: The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Selection process:

The selection of the students for the Ph.D. programme will be a two-step process:-

1.    Screening of the applications, followed by

2.    An interview of the short-listed candidates by the Selection Committees.

For Physical Sciences, the screening will be done on the basis of applicant's score/rank in JEST and/or CSIR-UGC NET.

For Chemical Sciences, the screening will be done on the basis of applicant's score/rank in CSIR-UGC NET and/or GATE.

For Life Sciences, the screening will be done on the basis of applicant's score/rank in CSIR-UGC NET/ BET/ GATE.

For Engineering Sciences, the screening will be done on the basis of applicant's score/rank in GATE.

RRCAT is a Constituent Institute of the "Homi Bhabha National Institute" (HBNI), a Deemed to be University with NAAC “A” grade. RRCAT invites students with appropriate qualifications to pursue Ph.D. program in various specialized areas of Physical, Chemical, Life and Engineering Sciences as listed above. As per the rules of HBNI, the Ph.D. program consists of course work of one-year duration and research work leading to Ph.D. thesis. The Ph.D. 2018 program will commence on 1st August 2018. DAE Research Fellowships will be offered to those selected for the pursuit of Ph.D. The present fellowship amount is ₹ 25,000 per month for the first two years (as Junior Research Fellow) and ₹ 28,000 per month for the subsequent three years (as Senior Research Fellow), subject to satisfactory yearly progress.
