About College:

Towards meeting the growing demand of manpower in the field of technology, the then Delhi Administration, with the approval of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, established a new Engineering College by the name of Delhi Institute of Technology (DIT) in July, 1983. In the year 1983, the Institute started with the academic program at UG level in the area of Electronics & Communication Engineering with an intake of 45 Students under the Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi. New programs in the areas of Computer Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, and Manufacturing Processes & Automation Engineering were added subsequently. Administrative autonomy was granted to the institute in 1986. The Institute was registered as a Society in the name of “Delhi Institute of Technology” (DIT) on 12th June 1987 under the Societies Registration Act No. XXI of 1860 (Registration No. S-17742 of 1987). The Institute initiated Ph.D. programs in 1989 and also formulated a number of PG programs, four of which were approved by the AICTE in the year 1994. The Institute has been and is affiliated to University of Delhi for all its UG, PG and Ph.D. programs.

Eligibility:

A candidate who has passed any graduate examination with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA from a recognised university/institution is eligible to apply. However, a relaxation of 10% in marks to SC/ST/PwD candidates shall be given in eligibility criteria. Those who are appearing in final semester examination may also apply, provided that they submit the proof of eligibility by a specific date declared by the University. The student should hold a degree from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India, or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. In case the conversion formula is not provided by the concerned Institute/University then equivalent percentage will be computed as per the NSUT guidelines.

The University may decide an appropriate cut-off percentile of CAT score to invite the candidates for GD & Personal Interview.

Note: At any stage of the programme, if it is found that the candidate does not fulfil the eligibility criteria, his/ her admission shall be cancelled.

·         For SC/ST/PwD candidates application fee is Rs. 500/- incomplete Application, due to any reason, is liable for rejection by the university.
