About College:

National Power Training Institute, Southern Region is one of the 9(Nine) Institutes under National Power Training Institute, a Registered Society functioning with the grant-in-aid from Ministry of Power, Government of India. National Power Training Institute, Southern Region, Neyveli is the very first Power Training Institute in the country. It was started in 1965 as Steam Power Station Personnel Training Institute later renamed as Thermal Power Station Personnel Training Institute under the erstwhile Central Water Power Commission. The objective of setting-up of this Training Institute was to provide a centralized facility for training the engineers of Thermal Power Stations which were coming up in the country during that time. Neyveli was chosen for setting up this Institute as six Thermal units of 300 MW were commissioned and units for another 300MW were under construction at that time at Neyveli as a turn-key project by Russians.

Post-Diploma Course in Power Plant Engineering (PDPPE) 20^th Batch

Eligibility:

Should have passed a Diploma in Mechanical /Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Communication/ Control & Instrumentation/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized Polytechnic/Board.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION: Merit based on Diploma marks. No age limit. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH is applicable as per Govt. norms.

TOTAL SEATS: 77 (Seventy seven seats). 25% seats for Sponsored candidates. For admissions under sponsored category, candidate has to provide sponsorship letter. Vacant seats in sponsored category shall be filled by non-sponsored candidates. Sponsored candidates will not be considered for campus placement.

PLACEMENT: To provide career opportunities in the Indian Power Sector, NPTI maintains close linkages with Power Utilities and reputed companies for employment of these trained Diploma engineers. Students of previous batches were placed in reputed Power companies. However NPTI does not guarantee placement.

Applications on plain paper along with SBI Collect Reference or Demand Draft of Rs.700/- including GST towards application fee in favour of National Power Training Institute payable at Neyveli should reach The Director, National Power Training Institute (SR), Block-14, Neyveli 607803 on or before 21.10.2019 with a passport size photograph pasted in the prescribed format containing 1. Name 2. Father’s Name 3. Date of birth & age as on 01.10.2019 4. Gender 5. Marital Status 6. Nationality 7. Whether SC/ST/OBC/PH 8. Postal Address, Mobile/Telephone Number & E-mail ID 9. Educational qualification starting from 10th Standard stating Branch, College/Institution, % of marks, year of passing 10. Experience, 11. Sponsored/Non-sponsored (If sponsored, attach sponsorship letter). 12. Details of DD/SBI Collect 13.Signature with date. Attach attested copies of proof for item No.3, 7, 9, & 10.
