About College:
The Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) was established by the Government of Karnataka with support from ICICI Bank.
It was set up on the recommendation of the Vision Group on Biotechnology, an advisory body to the Chief Minister of Karnataka. The Vision Group includes representatives from academia, industry and government, each recognizing the strengths of the other and the tremendous value to be gained by working together.
IBAB’s Governing Body has distinguished members from the sectors of academia, industry and government, and consequently members of all three rallied to help jump-start our courses, provide support in teaching, and offer opportunities for student internships and placements.
IBAB’s mission is to catalyze the growth of the biotechnology and bioinformatics industries in India.
The institute has the following immediate objectives:
Become a globally recognized institution of higher learning in bioinformatics and biotechnology
Undertake short-term training programmes especially executive training programmes to upgrade skills of professionals in related industries
Provide incubation and other services to entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs
Carry out research and development

Eligibility:
Eligibility and Selection Procedure for MSc in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology in Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, IBAB, Bangalore
Anyone with a recognised bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering, Computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, Agriculture, Veterinary and other Life sciences with minimum of 55% marks. Thus, the following degree holders may apply: BSc, BTech, BE, MBBS, BDS, etc. Please contact IBAB if you have any doubts about your eligibility.
