University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was established in 2003 through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. UPES is recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). UPES is Asia’s first core sector university and is the first Indian institution to offer 79 graduate and post graduate programs across 14 core sectors like oil and gas, power, infrastructure, information technology, transportation, electronics, high technology, design, business, planning and architecture, public policy and legal studies.
Examination Pathway –Admissions through UPES Management Entrance Test (UPESMET)
Candidates who have minimum 50% marks in Class 10th and Class 12th and in graduation, can seek admission to UPES MBA programs by taking the UPES Management Entrance Test (UPESMET) 2019.
Non-Examination Pathway – MBA admissions through National Level Tests
If you fulfill our eligibility criteria (Minimum 50 % marks in class 10th and 12th, as well as in graduation - Appeared but Result awaited can also apply) and have any of the following test scores.
· Sept MAT 2018/December MAT 2018 score of minimum 80 percentile
· Feb MAT 2019/ May MAT 2019 score of minimum 80 percentile
· CMAT 2019 score of minimum 80 percentile
· XAT 2019/CAT 2018 score of minimum 75 percentile
· NMAT 2018 score of minimum 140
· GMAT Scores
** Upto 50% seats shall be filled through National Level Tests category. In case candidates for such seats are not available, UPES has the right to fill these seats through UPES Entrance Test. University also reserves the right to conduct further physical (paper pencil test) for admission post March ' 2019
** University reserves the right to change the Test Date or cancel the Test .University also reserves thr right to conduct further physical (pen/paper) test post administration of the March ' 2019 Test.
Reservation of Seats
For Uttarakhand Bonafide resident candidates: 15 % of the seats in all program will be reserved for resident of Uttarakhand subject to producing of "Sthai Niwas Praman Patra certificate" .These Seats will be filled by separate merit list declared for Uttarakhand resident candidates.However in the event of the seats remaining unfilled by the stipulated date in the above mentioned category the same shall be treated as unreserved.
Note: Candidates applying under this category would be required to produce the original “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” during the day of admission failing which their candidature shall stand cancelled.

· Choose your status – Indian Resident or Foreign Resident.
· The Sign-Up form will appear.
· Fill up the details requested in the Sign Up Form, including the program that you are interested in.
· Click on the 'Submit' button.
· You will receive an email from UPES on the email ID that you have registered.
· Click on the link provided in the email to verify your email ID and activate your account on the website.
· Fill up the application form online and follow the instructions given therein.
· After submitting the application form, pay by credit card, debit card, net banking, or any other form of online payment.
Online Application Instructions:
· The online form submission facility is available only for candidates who wish to apply and pay online by credit card, debit card or net banking.
· Submit your application form only after filling the required details.
· If you have a scanned passport size photograph, you can upload it during the application process.
