About College:

NIIFT, The department of Industries & Commerce, Govt. Of Punjab, established Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology, in 1995, comprehending and visualizing the need of trained professionals in the arena of Textile and Garment Industry. An MOU was signed with the National institute of Fashion Technology,New Delhi for steering and supporting in admission procedure, faculty recruitment and training as well as curriculum scheduling and upgrading. Mohali, equipped with the conspicuously fast developing and already established garment industry situated at Baddi, Lalru, Dera Bassi and in the vicinity of Chandigarh, became a preferred location for NIIFT to have its firm base and thus adding to the prestige and distinction of the famous city.

Course Name:

B.Sc. Fashion Design - 120 (60 seats each at Mohali & Ludhiana)

B.Sc. Fashion Design (Knits) - 60 (60 seats at Ludhiana)

B.Sc. Textile Design - 60 (60 seats at Mohali)

M.Sc. Garment Manufacturing Technology - 30 (30 seats at Mohali)

M.Sc. Fashion Marketing & Merchandising - 30 (30 seats at Mohali)

Note: NIIFT will be able to run the courses subject to minimum admission of 10 students in each course at each centre; NIIFT reserve the right to withdraw to run any course

Eligibility:

B.Sc. Fashion Design (FD)

A three year undergraduate degree program after 10+2 is designed for those interested to make their career in the dynamic and charismatic world of Fashion Design. The course is divided into six semesters, which gradually evolve and sensitise the student's understanding of fundamentals of fashion business.

B.Sc. Fashion Design Knits (FDK)

A three year undergraduate degree program after 10+2 is designed to cater to the specific demands of the fast-emerging Textile and Knitwear industry. Areas of study include skill development, knitting knitwear designing, dyeing and printing, knitting technology, production and merchandising.

B.Sc. Textile Design (TD)

A Three-year Undergraduate degree program after 10+2 is spread over six semesters. Areas of study include skill development, weaving, textile designing, dying and printing, textile technology and development of textiles and related products

M.Sc. Garment Manufacturing Technology (GMT):

A two year Post Graduate Degree Programme after Graduation is divided into four semesters. This programme integrates the principles of Management, Technology and Fashion Business. Therefore, it is aptly called a "Techno-Managerial" Course

M.Sc. Fashion Marketing & Management (FMM):

A two-year Post Graduate Degree Program after Graduation is designed to fulfill the requirements of the retail industry in the country. It prepares highly competent and well-trained fashion marketing and management professionals. The course covers all aspects of the upcoming retail industry

Reservation of Seats

·         The reservation policy followed by NIIFT for seats in each program is as follows (Subject to the condition of defined eligibility)

·         SC - 25%

·         PH - 03%

·         Foreign National/NRI - 07 seats

·         General - Rests

·         SC Candidates: Candidates applying under this reserved quota would have to produce a Caste/Tribe certificate from Competent Authority of respective State /Union Territories/National Commission of Tribes

·         PH Candidates: Candidates seeking admission under this physically handicapped quota must produce a Disability Certificate issued by Medical Board attached with Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (VRC) working under Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India, certifying their disability as 40% or more

·         Foreign/NRI Candidates: 07 seats in each discipline are reserved for admission of Foreign Nationals whether residing in India or abroad, applicants from Non-Resident Indians are as specified in Income Tax Act 1961

·         The admission to NIIFT Programs to NRI/ Foreign Nationals will be offered on first come first serve basis

Test City Centres

·         Entrance test will be conducted on 03rd June 2018 (Sunday) in following cities Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Patna

How to apply:

·         Candidates have to submit the application online at https://applyadmission.net/niiftmohali2018/ or NIIFT Website.

·         Candidates belonging to General Category are required to make payment of Rs.1750/- either direct online payment through Credit Card/Debit card/ Net Banking to AIMA or in form of Demand Draft of Rs.1750/- in favour of NIIFT Mohali.

·         Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PHP Category are required to make payment of Rs.440/- either direct online payment through Credit Card/Debit Card/ Net banking to AIMA or in form of Demand Draft of Rs.440/- in favour of NIIFT Mohali

·         Fill the form online and send a printout of filled in form along with photograph pasted on it and demand draft (if applicable) to "The Manager CMS, All India Management Association, Management House, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-11000" latest by 25th May 2018

Note:

·         Send the duly completed Print Version of Online Application Form having Auto Generated Application No. to "The Project Manager CMS, All India Management Association, Management House, 14, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003"

·         Registration Process will be completed only on receipt of Print Version of Online Application Form

·         Eligible candidates applying for both UG & PG Programs have to fill separate online application forms and have to submit separate print out of filled application form containing different auto generated application number along with separate demand draft of requisite fee

·         Test Centres: Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Patna

Admit Cards

·         On the basis of the information given in the NIIFT Application Form, Admit Card of provisionally eligible candidates will be available to the candidates for download from the NIIFT Website on or after 29th May 2018 (14:00 hours)

·         On such downloaded Admit Cards the candidates are required to affix their photograph (similar to that affixed on the Application Form) on the downloaded Admit Card and get it attested by a Gazetted Officer/school Or College Principal for producing at Exam

Closing Date:

Last Date for Submission of Printout of Online Form at AIMA, New Delhi: 25th May 2018

Availability of Admit Card from the NIIFT Website: 29th May 2018 (1400 hours)

Date of Written Entrance Exam: 03rd June 2018 (Sunday)

Declaration of Written Exam Result: 20th June 2018 (1400 Hrs)

Situation Test & Interviews for UG Programs: 26th June 2018 and 27th June 2018

Date of Interview for PG Courses: 26th June 2018

1st Counseling of PG and fee Receipt: 27th June 2018

2nd counselling for PG and fee Receipt: 28th June 2018 (First Half)

3rd counselling for PG and fee Receipt: 28th June 2018 (Second Half)

Ist Counseling of UG and fee Receipt: 28th June 2018 (After 1.30 PM)

2nd counselling for UG and fee Receipt: 29th June 2018 (Upto 1.00 PM)
