The SRM University will be conducting the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEE) 2016, from April 19 to 25, 2016. The registrations for the exam has commenced.

It is a National level exam conducted for admissions in SRM University. This exam is conducted for granting admissions to nearly 7,000 undergraduate engineering seats across its four campuses- Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Ramapuram Part- Vadapalani and NCR Ghaziabad. On the basis of their SRMJEEE 2016 scores, the candidates will be given admissions to B.Tech programmes. performance.The exam centres for SRMJEEE 2016 for both modes, CBT and pencil-paper based test, are declared by the SRM University. Candidates shall choose the exam centre while filling the application form as per their convenience.

General Information Regarding UPPGMET-2016

·         UPPGMET-2016 will be organised for admission in MD, MS, Post Graduate Diploma Courses for Academic Session 2016-17 in unaided minority as well as non minority member medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh.

·         The entrance examination will be held on 16th January, 2016, Saturday and 23rd January, 2016.

·         There will be a total no. of 250 objective type multiple choice questions as per the guideline of syllabus given in the appendix of this brochure.

·         The UPPGMET-2016 will consists of a maximum of 250 marks.

·         Minimum cut-off pass percentage of marks in UPPGMET-2016 shall be 50% and merit shall be determined on the basis of marks secured in UPPGMET-2016.

·         There will be negative marks of 1, 4 for each wrong answer.

·         More than one answer marked in OMR answer sheet will also be considered as wrong answer.

·         Only Black Ball Point Pen shall be used for answering on OMR answer sheet as per direction even in the OMR Sheet.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

The candidate must have completed M.B.B.S. course from an institute duly recognized by Medical Council of India.

The Internship of the candidate must be completed before April 01, 2016.

The candidate must have his, her registration with State Medical Council, Medical Council of India.

For NRI, Foreign candidates, the above mentioned criteria must be approved by the Medical 5 Council of India.

2.     Downloaded from the website and after printing the same on A-4 sheet, such applications are to be completely filled and sent along with the Demand Draft of Rs. 3500/- in favor of “UPUMCWA” payable at “Bareilly (U.P.)” to the “Coordinator – UPPGMET 2016, First Floor, Anand Ashram Complex, RampurGarden, Bareilly – 243 001”.

3.     Completely filled Online through the link provided on the website (along with uploading of the signature, recent color passport size photograph, and Left hand thumb impression). A Demand Draft of Rs. 3500/- in favor of “UPUMCWA” payable at “Bareilly (U.P.)” is to be attached with the Confirmation Page after completely filling the form online. The No. of the Demand Draft must be filled at the designated place while filling the form online. Thereafter, the Confirmation Page can be generated and the print of the same is to be sent through Speed Post to the “Coordinator – UPPGMET 2016, First Floor, Anand Ashram Complex, Rampur Garden, Bareilly – 243 001”.

·         The application form after scrutiny shall be processed and applicant will be provided the facility to download his, her admit card along with roll no. from the website: The admit card will allow one to appear in the entrance test.

·         Appropriate information regarding centres shall be mentioned on the admit card. If any document, declaration submitted by the candidate is found to be false at any stage his, her candidature will be cancelled and he, she may be liable for prosecutions under law. In case of any legal dispute the jurisdiction will be limited to Bareilly Courts only.

·         The candidates are also instructed to note the Application Form No. and to keep photocopy of submitted application form along with proof of having submitted the application form for any future reference.

·         Incomplete Application Forms will be rejected.

Admit Card

·         Admit Cards will be available for download from the website on 11th January 2015.

·         The candidates who don't have downloaded Admit Card will be entertained at the examination center between 9:00 AM to 12:00Noon on the day of examination i.e. 16th January, 2016 (Saturday) and 23rd January, 2016 (Saturday). They should contact the centre observer UPPGMET- 2016 at the centre with following:-

a.     Two passport size photographs, similar to that pasted on application form i.e. from the same negative.

b.     Rs. 100/- as fee for duplicate admit card.

VIT Engineering Entrance Exam, VITEEE 2016

VIT University (VIT), Vellore has announced the exam dates for VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE 2016), which will be conducted in April 2016. The VITEEE computer based test will be held from Wednesday, April 06, 2016 to Sunday, April 17, 2016.

VITEEE is conducted for taking admission to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program for the academic year 2016.

Eligibility Criteria:

·         Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1994 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2016.

·         Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2016 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, Biology in the qualifying examination (+2, intermediate).

·         The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM, PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the SC, ST & North Eastern State.

·         Candidates who have studied in regular, full time and formal education are alone eligible to apply.

How to Apply:

Application Procedure for VITEEE 2016:

·         Online Application Forms: Candidates can apply online with softcopy (scanned copy) of recently taken passport size colour photograph with 50kb - 100kb (dimensions - 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) , Softcopy (scanned copy) of signature of the candidate with 20kb - 50kb (dimensions - 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm ) in JPG , JPEG format.

·         Mode of Payment - Internet banking facility through net banking, debit card, credit card, and demand draft mode.

·         Offline Application Forms: Applications will be available in selected Head Post Offices.

Paper Pattern for VITEEE 2016:

·         VITEEE 2016 syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and English.

·         PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) - 120 questions (each 40 questions) & English 5 questions-total 125 questions

Bachelors Programs

Students applying for the Bachelors programs offered at NIFT must not be more than 23 years old as of 1st of October, 2015. This eligibility criterion is relaxed for 5 years for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribe, and Differently Abled Person (PHP). Students applying to the bachelors courses must have any one of the following qualifications:

B.Des.

Ø       The +2 level examinations in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central, State Board of Secondary Examination, such as CBSE, State Board New Delhi, and CISCE, New Delhi.

Ø       General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London, Cambridge, Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level, International Baccalaureate (IB).

Ø       Any Public School, Board, University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Entrance exams to all courses offered at NIFT will be taken in two phases. Phase One (PBT I) of the examinations will comprise of the first round of paper based tests. Phase Two of the examinations will comprise of the second round of tests which could either be paper based (PBT II) or computer based (CBT), depending upon the particular course. Negative marks of 0.25 are deducted for every wrong answer.

CAT

The Creative Ability Test (CAT) assesses an applicants' intuition skill, observation ability, innovative and design ability. Use of color and illustrative abilities are also important here.

Situation Test

On the basis of their performace in CAT and GAT, B.Des applicants are called for another test called the Situation Test. Situation tests are meant to examine applicants' skills for material handling and innovative ability on a given situation with a given set of materials. Assessment will done on the basis of space visualization, innovative and creative use of given material, composition of elements, color scheme, construction skill, finesse of the model and overall presentation etc. The write-up describing the course carries 30 per cent weightage and can only be in English.

Group Discussions

Applicants selected for Masters Programs from the written entrance examination will participate in Case Study based Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The duration of GD session is usually 15 to 20 minutes. Applicants will be examined on the following criteria:

The Uttar Pradesh Combined Medical Entrance Test (UPCMET) is conducted by the U.P. Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association (UPUMCWA) for admission to MBBS courses offered by its member colleges. The UPUMCWA is a consortium of unaided non minority medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh.

UPCMET 2016 will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on 11 May 2016. Test centres will be available in 17 cities. The exam tests for admission to MBBS programs in member colleges for the academic session 2016. UPUMCWA holds the test.

MBBS

An MBBS is a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree. It is the basic and most popular [undergraduate] medical degree pursued in India because it allows one to go on to get a Masters degree in a large variety of specializations (i.e. General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Radio-diagnosis, Radiotherapy, Obstetrics and Gynecology, etc), and is therefore extremely competitive. The length of the program is on average 5 and a half years, of which the first 3 semesters, lasting 18 months each, are spent on classes, while the last year is dedicated to the compulsory rotating internship. The cost for an MBBS varies depending on the institute, and ranges from Rs 332 per year for a local student to Rs 970 per year for an outstation student (from All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS), to Rs 10,000-12,000 per year (for JIPMER), up to even 2-3 lakhs (not including housing and cost of food) per year (for a private college).

UPCMET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

ð      Candidates should be citizens of India and at least 17 years of age as of 31 December 2016.

ð      Applicants should have passed the Uttar Pradesh Board's 10+2 exam, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), ISC or equivalent from a recognized university or board. Candidates must have English as a subject, with at least 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together (40 percent for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes candidates).

ð      If you are appearing for the 10+2 exam in 2015, you are also eligible provided that you pass the exam with the appropriate marks.

UPCMET 2016 Exam Pattern

The detailed exam pattern for UPCMET 2016 (conducted for admission to MBBS programs in medical colleges which are members of the UPUMCWA):

The exam has two papers with five total subjects. Paper I has a total of 100 marks and Paper II has 50 marks. Combined maximum marks for the test are 200 (not 250) since Paper II is just a qualifying paper and won't be considered for merit.

The cut-off marks for Paper I are 50 percent (for SC, ST, OBC candidates 40 percent) and for Paper II are also 50 percent (40 percent for SC, ST, OBC candidates). Merit is determined from Paper I marks.

UPCMET 2016 Exam Syllabus

UPCMET 2016 Physical and Biological Sciences Syllabus

Paper I consists of two sections, Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences. Section A includes Physics and Chemistry, and Section B includes Zoology and Botany. The Physics section includes basic concepts such as mechanics, measurement and kinematics and wave motion and sound. You will need to be aware of relevant laws and formulas. Other topics that are included in this section of the test are heat (thermal conduction, first law of thermodynamics, thermometry), light (chromatic aberration, refraction at spherical surfaces, wave nature of light), electricity, electromagnetism and general properties of matter (kinetic theory, kinetic models for liquids and solids). More advanced topics in this section are nuclear physics, radiation and atomic physics and electron physics. The Chemistry section covers basic chemistry concepts, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and physical chemistry.

Section B's first section is Zoology, which covers general topics such as evolution, organic evolution, animal physiology and classification. Topics in the Type and Specific Study section include arthropods, protozoa, porifera and annelida. Other topics you should be familiar with for the Botany section are the cell, ecology, cell differentiation, the study of life from angiospermic plant to seed formation and photosynthesis.

UPCMET 2016 English Syllabus

Paper II, General English, is a qualifying paper. For this part of the test, you should be familiar with the basics of correct English such as spelling, grammar, prepositions, simple tenses and conjunctions. Eligibility Criteria for RMAT 2015:

Candidates should have:

·         Master’s degree in Management or allied subjects from Commerce, Humanities, Science, Engineering and Law etc. or a PGDM/PGDITM approved by AICTE with not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade OR Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy or any other professional qualification which are considered equivalent to master degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade. In addition, the candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in graduation. And

·         Minimum 5 years post qualification work experience in industry at the managerial level or a minimum 5 years of teaching experience as full time Faculty in a Management Institute approved by AICTE or affiliated to a university.

If a qualifying Board awards only letter grades without providing information on the passing grade on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the passing grade and submit it at the time of online acceptance of the allocated seat

In case such a certificate is not provided, the decision taken by the B.Des admissions Committee will be final. Candidates should have qualified in UCEED 2016

The criteria, as specified above, is applicable "in toto" to all the candidates including foreign nationals

Qualifying Examination:

i.        The final exam of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities website

ii.      Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Exam conducted by a Board or University recognized by the AIU; final exam of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy

iii.    Sr. Secondary School Exam conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects; any Public School, Board or University exam in India or in a foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the AIU

iv.   HSC vocational examination

v.     A Diploma recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 years duration

vi.   High School Certificate Exam of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva

vii.Candidates who have completed Class XII (or equivalent) exam outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities to the effect that the exam they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII exam

viii.           In case the Class XII exam is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) exam earlier

Reservation of Seats
Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules of the Govt. of India. The categories and the extent of reservation are as follows:
OBC-NCL - 27% of seats in the course
OBCs website as of 01st June 2015
Candidates belonging to the creamy layer of OBC are NOT entitled for reservation; such candidates are treated as belonging to the general (GEN) (i.e., unreserved) category
SC - 15% of seats in the course
ST - 7.5% of seats in the course
PwD - 3% of seats from the parent category in the course
3% reservation for PwD candidates, which is translated to 01 seat, will be cycled over in a 4-year period category-wise in the sequence, GEN, OBC, SC,ST
Thus for the academic year 2016-17, the 01 PwD seat will be allotted from the OBC category

The registration for UCEED is completely online and can be done on UCEED’s online portal only
Applicants must satisfy all of the above mentioned eligibility criteria and the application cannot be withdrawn after registration is completed. Application fee is NEITHER refundable NOR transferable

Registration Fee for UCEED 2016

The registration fee structure for UCEED 2016 is as following:
The registration fees is Rs.2000/- for all General, OCC-NCL male candidates and Rs.1000/- for all SC, ST, PwD male candidates
Irrespective of the category, all female candidates must pay Rs.1000/- as registration fees

Cities where UCEED 2016 will be held
UCEED 2016 will be held in the following 14 cities in India:
 Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune
Candidates should compulsorily choose three cities of their choice, in the order of preference, at the time of online registration

Results

Declaration of UCEED 2016 Result: 28th February 2016 (17:00)

UCEED 2016 results will be announced online on 28th Feb 2016 and individual ranks will not be sent to the candidates. A candidate should have attend both Part A & Part B to be qualified for ranking

Only those candidates who have the minimum required marks in each of the six categories and the required aggregate in both Part 1 and Part 2 will be included in the merit list

Applications are invited by Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), Mumbai for admission to full-time (regular) Post-Graduate Degree Master of Arts (M.A.) Programs offered at Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses and other locations for the academic session 2016

TISS-NET is a yearly exam conducted for admissions to Masters in Social Work and related programs at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai and its campuses in Tuljiapur, Hyderabad, Guwahati and other locations

Courses Offered:

TISS announces admission to the 2016-18 batch for it's Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programs (MA, MSc, MHA, MPH) offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad campuses and other locations

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates having a bachelor's degree with minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university are eligible to apply

Only those candidates who will be able to complete all the requirements of their final year bachelor's degree examinations by Saturday, June 11, 2016 are eligible to apply

For MA in Applied Psychology with Specialisations in Counselling Psychology and Clinical Psychology, preference will be given to those candidates who have a graduate degree, BA in Psychology; BA, B.Sc Home Science with specialisation in Child, Human Development; BA Social Work, BA General-with minimum three papers in Psychology

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the TISS-National Entrance Test (TISS-NET 2016), pre-interview test and personal interview conducted by the institute

Exam Pattern

National Entrance Test (TISS-NET) is computer based; it will be held on 09th January 2016 from 02.00 pm to 03.40 pm in 39 centres (below mentioned) in different parts of the country

Northern Region (Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Noida, Varanasi, Greater Noida, Mohali)

Eastern Region (Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Dimapur, Silchar, Patna)

Western Region (Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Solapur, Navi-Mumbai, Thane)

The online test is of objective type and even those with a rudimentary knowledge of working with a computer can take the test

Duration of Test: 01 hour 40 minutes

In case a candidate desires to do the test on paper, he, she must this indicate this in the application form. The objective test will have questions related to social sensitivity, knowledge on contemporary issues; analytical ability, and logical reasoning

How to Apply:

Candidates are required to apply online through the e-application only, available on the Institute’s website Candidates from remote places where no internet and telecommunication facilities are available can get a printed copy of the application form from the Institute

Candidates have to apply through the online application form only. Following are the steps involved in filling up the form. After login candidates have to fill in their basic details, academic details and have to mention the programmes they wish to apply for in the order of preference

Pay the application fee (depending on number of programs applied) either by depositing cash in any branch of SBI or through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking and Scan and upload photograph, signature, marksheet of last exam passed and other necessary certificates

The application Fees is Rs.1030/- (if being payed by Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking) or Rs.1000/- plus bank charges (if being payed through bank by cash)
