Eligibility:

Candidates who have obtained a Bachelor's degree (10+2+3), Master's Degree from a recognized university in disciplines of Commerce, Management, Arts, Science, Engineering/Technology, or equivalent and have secured not less than 50% of Marks in aggregate (including languages) in the Bachelor's Degree Examination are eligible for admission to this programme.

National Level Written Test for MBA programme: All the aspiring candidates should write national level CMAT conducted by AICTE/ MAT conducted by AIMA / KMAT (Karnataka exam). The score secured in any of these test is necessary to complete the application form.

MBA Admission Process:

All aspiring candidates are requested to apply online for the counseling. The candidates are expected to write any of the national level management tests (MAT/CMAT/ CAT) and its score is essential to complete the application form. Status of Candidates application and selection to counseling will be informed through mail.

MBA Counseling includes the following screen rounds

* Personal presentation for which the topics will be given in the venue

* Group Discussion

* Interview with admission panel.

The result of the counseling will be announced on the same day of the counseling and the same will be available in website and notice board.

Admission will be based on the score secured in qualifying exam and their performance in counseling.

Selected applicants in the interview will be informed about the reporting date on the day of counselling. Admission formalities of submitting all available original documents and fees for the first year must be completed by the applicant on or before the reporting date. Eligibility:

Admission to MCA programme is open for the candidates who have passed Bachelor degree with not less than 50% i.e. integer 50% (rounding-off of aggregate percent is not permitted) of marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations with Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Science/ Computer Programming/ Computer Applications/ Business Mathematics / Business Statistics as one of the optional or elective at Degree Level. Provided, further that a candidate who has studied and passed one of the subjects specified in the first proviso in the Pre-University course with 50% of marks in that subject shall be considered for admission.

National Level Written Test for MCA: All the aspiring candidates should write state level KMAT (for management quota) / PGCET (for University quota) and the score card has to be submitted in the office before the commencement of classes. Master of Public Health (MPH) [Offered by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA & IIHMR University (Cooperative Programme)]

Eligibility:

Interested individuals from India or surrounding low- and middle-income countries must have:

·         A Bachelor degree.

·         A minimum of 2 years of full-time health- related experience beyond the Bachelor’s/Master’s degree. (Work experience is waived for Ph.D.  and M.B.B.S graduates.)

·         Prior college-level mathematics courses; prior college-level biology course plus another health-related course.

·         Demonstrated English proficiency through prior degree, TOEFL or IELTS.

·         Demonstrated quantitative and verbal skills through GRE, MCAT, LSAT, or GMAT. (Applicants with degrees beyond the Bachelor’s may request a waiver of standardized test scores if they are other sources of quantitative abilities.)

(a) Teacher candidates working in College/ University departments and such other institutions recognized by Pondicherry University with at least two years of continuous teaching experience at degree and/ or post-graduate level in the subject concerned.

(b) Teacher candidates teaching in Recognized Schools at the Higher Secondary School level/ Polytechnic colleges situated within the jurisdiction of Pondicherry University and have put in at least 5 years of continuous teaching experience in the subject concerned after obtaining Master's Degree

(c) Non-teaching staff employed in a time scale of pay in this University and other affiliated research institutions provided that (i) the candidate has at least 7 years of work experience after obtaining Master's Degree of which at least two years should be relevant to the field of research proof of which to be evidenced  through two research papers published in UGC approved journals(wherever applicable) or standard journals OR (ii) the candidate has at least 5 years of work experience with M.Phil. in the subject concerned and published two research papers in UGC approved journals(wherever applicable) or standard journals in the subject concerned.

(d) Candidates under the regulations of part-time (Internal) shall be required to carryout part time research work in the concerned department or in a department approved for research by this University. Interdisciplinary research for such part-time internal candidates shall be allowed only with the approval of the Chairperson of the Academic Council.

(e) Candidates under the regulations of part-time (Internal) are prohibited from engaging in any other assignment/employment or joining any other course of study without the prior approval of the Chairperson of Academic Council.

Requirement of Experience & Other Conditions

Ph.D. Part-time (External)

(a) Permanent academic staff of colleges/ universities/ other educational institutions of higher learning/ Research & Development Laboratories and Organizations with at least three years of continuous teaching/ research experience.

(b) Employees with a minimum of ten years of experience after obtaining Master's Degree in Government, Local Bodies, recognized Institutes, Public Sector Undertakings, NonGovernmental Organizations, provided the candidate has experience in the relevant field of research for at least three continuous years out of ten years of service and published, at least, two papers in UGC approved journals or standard journals or reports/ monologues/ book of equivalent standard or a patent registered, in the concerned subject/ area of research.

(c) Technocrats, Scientists, Social Scientists & Scholars and Administrators with at least 10 years of experience in India or abroad after obtaining Master's Degree and educational qualifications as prescribed for Ph.D. full-time and Parttime programme, having sufficient exposure in research & development and generated useful data/ patent/ knowledge as evidenced by at least two papers in UGC approved Journals or Standard Journals or report/ monologues/ book of equivalent standard or patent registered in the concerned subject/ are of research.

General Conditions

(a) The candidate would be required to give a seminar before the Admission Committee on the proposed topic of research in the concerned School/ Department/ Centre. The admission committee/University may also adapt any other method of evaluation of the candidate which will also form the basis for considering the provisional admission to the candidate. The Admission Committee/ University should be convinced of the potential of the candidate to carry out research. 

(b) All the Ph.D. Applicants called for inteview should submit at the time of interview, a clear written proposal of the research to be conducted, giving sufficient back-ground material and the proposed line of research, and obtain the consent of a guide duly recognized by the University within the University area. In case of candidates working outside the University area, a Coguide duly recognized by the University may be permitted, if necessary, in addition to the University Guide/ Supervisor on the recommendation of Doctoral Committee. Mere possession of required educational and other qualifications and called for interview alone cannot be claimed as a right for admission to the Ph.D. programme in the Pondicherry University

Symbiosis International University (SIU), Pune has announced the exam dates for the next Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) in 2013. The paper-based test is scheduled to be held on 15th December, 2013.

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is a national level entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International University, Pune. This all India level exam is conducted for admission into its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs across 13 institutes which come under SIU.

Eligibility

SNAP test can be taken by applicants who have completed or those who are in their final year of college. Candidates should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/ candidates) for all MBA programs, except for programs which require specific subject specializations. How to Apply:

Application procedure

To apply for SNAP 2013, applicants have to first register online for SNAP 2013 before 22nd November. Candidates are advised to read the entire document before filling in the online registration form. Examination fee for the test is Rs 2000. You can pay the fees by online payment mode through credit card or net banking option after registration. Else, you can opt to pay through demand draft from any nationalized bank in favour of "Symbiosis test secretariat" payable at Pune and send it to the following address. Also, you have the option to make payment through cash by taking a challan form after registration of the form and sending it across to the following address. Based on the performance in the SNAP test and their academic profile, candidates will be short listed for Personal interaction (PI) and writing ability test (WAT). The performance of the candidate in each level will be assessed and calculated to reach the final merit list.
