Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme

Eligibility:

·         The applicant for the Post- Doctoral Fellowship Programme shall possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree from a recognised University, other than Nirma University.

·         The applicant should have three publications in high quality Journals (listed in the Web of Science / SCOPUS / Hein Database / Indian Citation Index / ABDC / EBSCO – Art & Architecture Database or similar international agency).

·         The upper age limit of the candidate is 40 years (at the time of the submission of application). Age relaxation of 5 (five) years is given to the women candidates.

·         The candidates, who have completed their earlier post-doctoral fellowship assignment are also eligible.

Procedure of Admission

For admission to the Postdoctoral Fellowship Programmes, the University invites the applications through advertisement in newspapers, social media and the University website. The candidates have to apply in a format prescribed by the University and also have to submit necessary copies of certificates, biodata, list of publications, detailed Research Proposal, etc. The Research Proposal should include the Research Project Title, Research Objectives, Project Summary, Expected Outcomes of the proposed Research, Requirement of Infrastructure/Equipment/Software, Timeline of the Research, etc. The candidate would make a presentation of Research Proposal before the Selection Committee. Followed by the presentation, there will be personal interview of the candidate. The Selection Committee makes its recommendations on the basis of the biodata, publications of the candidates, presentation by the candidate, novelty of the research proposal and personal interview.

How to Apply:

1.    The applicant who fulfills the necessary requirements can apply for the Post-Doctoral Fellowship Programme admissions by filling up the prescribed Application Form and paying the Processing Fee.

2.    Applicants should submit the duly filled in Application Form along with non-refundable admission Processing Fee of Rs.1250/-. A Demand Draft drawn in favour of Nirma University, payable at Ahmedabad should accompany the Form.

3.    List of Enclosures to be submitted are as under:

  • Qualifying examination mark-sheets/grade sheets, Certificate of Passing of Master Degree and Ph.D. Degree.
  • Authenticated document showing conversion from CPI/CGPA to percentage, wherever applicable.
  • Proof of age.
  • Certificate of research/ work experience, if any.
  • Tentative Research Proposal (including a Research Project Title, Research Objectives, Project Summary, Expected Outcome of the proposed research and Details with regard to requirement of infrastructure/equipment/software, timeline of research, etc.)

Eligibility:

For Ph.D. (Full-Time and Part-Time Programme): Candidates for admission to the. programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions..

How to Apply:

·         The Application Form Processing Fee for the Ph.D. Programme is Rs. 1250/- (non-refundable). The application will be considered complete only after payment of the Application Form Processing Fee through online mode.

·         The applicant who fulfills the necessary requirements can apply for the Ph.D. admissions in Full-Time, Part-Time, Part-Time (Visvesvaraya Scheme only for Technology & Engineering) or all the categories. Those who are applying for all the three categories will have to pay the processing fee of Rs. 1250/- + Rs. 1250/-+1250/- = Total Rs. 3750/

Overseas applicants must also apply online. However, they must take the Admission Test at one of the Test centres located in various towns and cities all over India (see Prospectus). In addition, such applicants are also requested to share their Application ID by email to dean@isical.ac.in with subject Admission 2020-21: Overseas Application immediately after successful submission of the application, and certainly no later than March 20, 2020.

The history of NIELIT dates back to 1974 when the Department of Electronics (DoE) now Ministry of Communication Information Technology (MCIT), Govt. of India and the University Grants Commission (UGC) set up the first CEDT within the premises of Indian Institute of Science (IISc.), Bangalore with assistance from Swiss Development Corporation. The objective was to bridge the gap between the academic institutions and industries. A decade after the successful running of CEDT, Bangalore, the then Department of Electronics (DoE), initiated a programme to set up similar centres in other parts of the country with a wider objective to develop human resources at different levels and in different specialised areas of Electronics Design.

How to Apply:

The Admission Forms can be submitted online (except for International Students) through Online Admission System at http://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in. Currently, the facility is available for the programmes offered through Common Prospectus except merit-based and entrance test based programmes. The prospective learners are required to create their user ID and password for logging in the system and upload the required documents along with the submission of the Admission Form. There is no need to send the printed copy of the Admission Form to the Regional Centre. The programme fee can be paid online using payment Gateway through net banking, debit card and credit card. Once the admission form is submitted online, the students can track the progress of their admission. A message is sent on the mobile number and email ID registered with the System once admission is confirmed. In case of any discrepancy in the Admission Form, the prospective students are advised to remove the discrepancy within a stipulated time. Failing to do so will lead to rejection of admission form.

Physical Fitness

The Institute has laid down detailed minimum physical fitness and medical standards. The candidate has to meet these standards to qualify for admission. You are advised to have yourself medically examined by competent doctors before applying. This will ensure that you meet the minimum requirements, which in turn will avoid disappointment at a later stage.

How to apply

Online through this website

Step I: Fill the application form on this website. Last date for availability of forms - 31st May 2020. For early processing of the form and appearing in TMISAT at National centres, apply before 25th April 2020.

Step II: Pay the non-refundable application and online test fees through the website using credit / debit card / internet banking OR by a Demand Draft / Pay Order for Rs. 1200/-  in favour of "Tolani Maritime Institute", payable at Pune.

Step III: Print duly filled application form and the summary generated. Send the same along with the transaction receipt, if paid online, OR Demand Draft/Pay Order to TMI. Please write your form no. and contact details on the reverse of the draft.

Please note that you will be required to upload the following documents in soft copy while filling the form online and also send one photocopy of each document along with hard copy of the form.

1.     Recent passport size photograph

2.     Class X mark sheet

3.     Class XII mark sheet (Candidates appearing for Class XII exam in 2020 may submit these copies after declaration of results.)

4.     Leaving / Transfer Certificate / Birth Certificate (For age proof)

5.     Downloaded copies of class XII mark sheet from internet (Candidates appearing for Class XII exam in 2020 may submit these copies after declaration of results.)

Necessary documents to be sent to TMI with all applications

·         Printed copy of the application form and the summary generated after an application is made through this website

·         Two identical recent passport size photographs with name & form no. written at the back.

·         Self attested Copies of certificates and / or mark sheets of your 10th and 12th  examinations (or its equivalent). Applicants who have not received 12th marksheet may submit a bonafide certificate from the head of the school or college where they appeared for these exams

·         Self attested Copy of Birth Certificate (for proof of age and place of Birth).

·         Downloaded copies of class XII marksheet (on receipt) from internet attested by school Principal

·         Copies of certificates for sports and any other extra curricular activities, if available (from Std. VIII and above only).

·         Online transaction receipt, if paid online, OR Demand Draft payable at Pune for Rs. 1200/- favouring Tolani Maritime Institute. Please write your form no. and contact details including mobile phone no. on the reverse of the Demand Draft.

Course Name:

B. Sc. Nautical Science

Duration: 3 Years

Eligibility:

Qualifying in IMUCET as well as TMISAT is mandatory for admission.

The following criteria have to be met in order to be eligible for admission into the B.Sc. Nautical Science programme at TMI:

Age

Male candidates born on or after 1st September 1999 are eligible to apply for the 2020 batch. In accordance with Government of India guidelines, there is a two year age relaxation for female candidates and girls born on or after 1st September 1997 are eligible to apply for the 2020 batch.

Minimum age of a candidate shall be 17 years.

Gender

TMI encourages the participation of both genders without discrimination.

Marital Status

Only unmarried candidates will be considered.

Academic Qualifications

You must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with:

·         At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (P C M), and

·         At least 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII

Course Name:

Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)

Duration: 1 Year

Eligibility:

Age limit as per IMU is 25 years. However individual shipping companies have their own eligibility criteria.

Academic Qualifications:

You must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with:

Physical Standards

To be declared fit for selection, a candidate must be in good mental and physical health and free from any deficiency likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties, as per the medical standards laid down by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India. Candidates for DNS (IMU) programme must have 6/6 vision in both eyes. Color blindness is not permitted.

Medical fitness has to be certified by DG Shipping approved company doctors.

Placement

Candidates finally selected by the shipping companies will be offered onboard training and placement upon successful completion of the course.
