Eligibility:

Selection Procedure

·         The Entrance Test will be conducted at Hyderabad and Vijayawada. The duration of the objective test will be 90 minutes and the syllabus of the test includes:

·         English, Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning, Computer Fundamentals, C Programming, Data Structures, Data Communication & Networking, Object Oriented Programming Concepts, Operating Systems etc

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is the premier R&D organization of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT) for carrying out R&D in IT, Electronics and associated areas.  Different areas of C-DAC, had originated at different times, many of which came out as a result of identification of opportunities. The setting up of C-DAC in 1988 itself was to built Supercomputers in context of denial of import of Supercomputers by USA. Since then C-DAC has been undertaking building of multiple generations of Supercomputer starting from PARAM with 1 GF in 1988. Almost at the same time, C-DAC started building Indian Language Computing Solutions with setting up of GIST group (Graphics and Intelligence based Script Technology); National Centre for Software Technology (NCST) set up in 1985 had also initiated work in Indian Language Computing around the same period.

How to Apply:

Application Procedure

(i)           Applicants are required to submit their application through on-line application system using the portal https://academics.mnnit.ac.in/phdadmission only. “No other means of application shall be acceptable”.

(ii)          There are two steps in online application procedure

Step 1. Register by filling your personal details and pay fee by using payment link  

·         An application ID will be provided in this step, which will be required in step 2. Application fee is ` 1200/- for OPEN and OBC-NCL candidates for each programme. For SC/ST category admission fee is ` 600.00 for each programme.  

·         Fee payment can be made by either online payment mode using credit/debit card, internet banking or offline mode by chalan.  

·         If online payment mode is opted, then after successful payment an e-receipt will be generated by admission portal. If offline payment is opted, then report any branch of State Bank of India with print out of the generated chalan and deposit application fee. Bank will provide a stamped receipt. This e-receipt/stamped clalan receipt will be required at the time of sending application form to MNNIT Allahabad.

Step 2. Online filling of application form: Log-in with application ID provided in step 1

·         Before starting the online filling of application form, please make sure that you have soft copy of your passport size photograph in JPEG (up to 30 kb) format.

The prospective learners are required to create their user ID and password for logging in the system and upload the required documents along with the submission of the Admission Form. There is no need to send the printed copy of the Admission Form to the Regional Centre. The programme fee can be paid online using payment Gateway. ·         Admission test will be open to the Indian Nationals who have passed/appearing in the qualifying exam fulfilling the eligibility; however, the preference shall be given to the candidates having domicile status of U.P. state

·         "Candidates who possess the Master’s Degree with Ist Division in Engineering/ Technology /Science/Management/Humanities or equivalent in the relevant discipline are eligible for the admission to PhD Program"

·         Certain seats may be available with fellowship under “Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme-II” and the Research cum Teaching Fellowship scheme of the University which will be notified at the time of counseling for the limited period. Candidates opting for Research cum Teaching Fellowship will have to opt for this at a time of counseling and appear for Interview.

·         The University may admit candidates to Ph.D. programme who have qualified a National Level test which entitles them for the award of Senior/Junior Research Fellowship/ any other Fellowship without appearing in the University’s Ph.D. Admission Test provided that they fulfill the eligibility norms of the University ordinance. Such candidates will be selected on the basis of personal interview.

National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR) came into existence   on 30 September 2002 with the merger of National Institute of Science Communication (NISCOM) and Indian National Scientific Documentation Centre (INSDOC). Both NISCOM and INSDOC, the two premier institutes of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), were devoted to dissemination and documentation of S&T information.

Eligibility:

Masters Degree with 55% marks in any subject with bachelors degree in science or a bachelor degree with 55 % mark, in agriculture science, medical science, engineering, technology or equivalent from a recognized university/ institution. Having a National fellowship (JRF/SRF/INSPIRE) or equivalent will be an advantage.

Admission process.

Admissions to AcSIR PhD programmes are conducted twice in a year. The Participating CSIR Labs announces the admission criteria and procedure of admission through National Dailies and Web media.

Shortlisted candidates fulfilling the shortlisting criteria of respective participating CSIR Labs will be called for test and / or interview by the Selection Committees of the respective laboratories of CSIR.

Based on the Academic record and the performance of the candidates in the test and / or interview, the Selection Committee of the concerned CSIR Laboratory recommends names of the selected candidates to the respective Deans.

The number of candidates called for test/interview will be commensurate with the number of seats/requirements in each laboratory.
