The following types of students will be considered for admission

a)     Regular (Full Time). The students should have cleared GATE. Such students will receive institute assistantship.

b)     Sponsored (Full Time) Sponsored candidates (from Government Organisations, Public Sector Organizations, Other industries) may also be considered after their interviews, but no financial assistance will be provided to such candidates. They should have at least 2 years of work experience.

c)      Part-time students: Those who are employed in reputed institutes or in oil industries and have acquired a minimum of three years of experience can also apply for the registration as Part-Time Ph.D. students at RGIPT.

d)     External candidates with at least 3 years of experience in Government Organizations,  Public Sector Organizations, Other industries having adequate research facilities may be considered. In such cases the research work should be of interest to RGIPT and should be separate from the candidate’s regular work for the organization where the candidate is employed. Such candidates should work under a Supervisor within his parent organization and the overall guidance will be provided by the major guide from RGIPT under whom the candidate should register for Ph.D. No financial assistance will be provided to such candidates. Students will be admitted to UG Medical (MBBS) course in the constituent college of JSS University, JSS Medical College, Mysuru, on the basis of the rank list prepared by the university from the test scores / rank obtained by them in the COMED-K UGET - 2016 entrance test.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test and counseling conducted by the university.

About College:

The Nalanda Open University is the only University in the State of Bihar meant for imparting learning exclusively through the system of distance education. The University was established in March, 1987 by an ordinance, promulgated by the Government of Bihar. Later, Nalanda Open University Act, 1995 was passes by the Bihar Legislature, replacing the Ordinance, and the University came under the authority and jurisdiction of the new Act automatically. The University is named after the famous Nalanda University of Ancient India. At present, the University is functioning from its camp office at Biscomaun Bhawan, 2nd,3rd,4th and 12th Floors, Patna 800 001. The University has established at its camp office at Patna a well equipped and fully automated modern office in an area of approximately 60,000 sq. feet, which houses an examination centre for about 1000 students, a state of the art Library with about 50,000 titles and a computer laboratory of about 300 IBM Pentium-4 computers, apart from administrative offices and other infra-structures.
