About College:

The S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences (Centre) was established by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in 1986 as a Registered Society. The Centre was established to honour the life and work of Professor S. N. Bose who was a colossal in theoretical physics and has made some of the most fundamental conceptual contributions in the development of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Statistics.

In the last 25 years, the Centre has emerged as a major institution for research and development in Basic Sciences, specifically in the area of physical sciences and related disciplines. The Centre, while focusing on basic research, has also made a new move to contribute in application driven basic research, in particular, in areas of national needs.

Course Description:

Post-BSc Integrated PhD in Chemical Sciences (conducted jointly by the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Sciences, Kolkata and the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata)

Eligibility:

Applicants must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in Chemistry-Honours with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiaries OR 55% marks in aggregate with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics for universities that do not offer honours degree. Candidates in the latter case should clearly mention, “Honours degree not provided” in their applications. Those who have appeared in the qualifying examination may also apply but their application will be tentative subject to securing the required percentage of marks.

Selection Procedure: Short-listed applicants will be required to appear in a written test (to be conduced at Kolkata) containing multiple-choice questions. Further short-listed candidates on the basis of the written test will be called for an interview, out of which a maximum of ten candidates will be selected for admission. List of successful candidates will be displayed on the websites of both the institutes.

Register for SNBNCBS Admission 2016

·         Online application submission last date is 01st Apr. 2016to 07th May, 2016. The online application will automatically close after this time. In order to avoid last minute rush, the candidates are advised to apply early enough. SNBNCBS will not be responsible for network problems or any other problem of this nature in submission of online application during last days.

·         Before applying, be sure that you satisfy all the criteria for Admission at SNBNCBS.

·         First, you need to register yourself by clicking in Sign Up option. While registering, you have to provide correct information in the mandatory fields namely Name, Date of Birth, Gender according to the Degree certificate and these could not be modified later.

·         Email is also a mandatory field which you can modify later. SNBNCBS will communicate using this email id.

·         Carefully choose your username and password and keep in a safe place for future use.

·         After registering by filling in required information, a Unique Candidate Id will be provided and this id must be used for any future communication related to Admission Programme - 2016.

·         On successful completion, an email will be sent to you mentioning your unique id.
