NIT MCA Common Entrance Test 2011-2012, NIMCET 2011-2012

National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are premier technical institutions of national repute, fully funded by Government of India. The Curricula and Syllabi of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme offered by NITs are designed considering the need of different IT Firms in India and abroad which has a high job potential in IT Sector. NIMCET 2011-2012 is a national level entrance test conducted by NITs for admission to their MCA programme. The admission to first year of MCA prgoramme, offered by NIT Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal, for the year 2011-2012 will be based on the rank obtained in NIMCET2011 ONLY. Candidate’s score and rank based on NIMCET 2011-2012 entrance examination is valid for admission to MCA course of participating NIT’s for 2011-2012 session only. NIMCET 2011-2012 examination is scheduled on 15th May 2011 from 10.00 AM to 12.00 noon at the various test centers.

 ELIGIBILITY

Indian Nationals securing 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC/ST) in each of the examinations of

Ø       12th level with Mathematics and

Ø       Bachelor’s Degree of full time 3 year duration from a recognized University with any one of the following as one of the subjects

Ø       Mathematics

Ø       Business Mathematics

Ø       Discrete Mathematics

Ø       Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science

Ø       Business Statistics

Ø       Computational Mathematics

Ø       Elementary Mathematics

Ø       Elementary Statistics

Those who have done Bridge Course in Mathematics are also eligible to apply. The percentages of marks for (i) and (ii) given above are to be calculated on the basis of method used by respective Board / University. Students completing degree from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their course is approved by UGC/AICTE / Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET2011. Such candidates shall have to furnish the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET2011 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 31st August, 2011, failing which, their admission may be cancelled by the respective NITs. State quota is applicable only for the state of Tamil Nadu .Candidate passed / appeared for qualifying exam from Tamil Nadu will be eligible for Tamil Nadu State Quota of NIT – Trichurapalli. For all other NIT’s only all India quota is applicable.

MODE OF EXAMINATION:-

NIMCET2011 examination will be of two hours and question paper will consist of 120 multiple choice questions with four choices for each question in Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General English. Each correctly answered question will carry FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to NEGATIVE ONE mark. The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR sheets at the time of examination. Candidates have to bring their own HB pencil, eraser and black ball point pen. Calculators, mobile phones or any other electronic gadget are not allowed in the examination hall.

WEB ENABLED ON-LINE APPLICATION FORM:-

Eligible candidates are required to fill in web enabled on-line application form from any place of their convenience. Candidates are required to create user login Id and password for themselves and should use the same as and when required. Candidates are not permitted to create multiple Ids’ in any case. If there is any problem in login creation then candidate are required to contact Secretary NIMCET 2011.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Candidates are required to read the instructions carefully before filling the online application form (See Page 13). They are also required to take a print out of the online filled in online application form and send it by speed post along with copies of mark sheets of Matriculation, High School and Graduation and a demand draft of Rs 1500/- for open /OBC and Rs 750/- for SC/ST candidates in favor of “NIMCET2011” payable at SBI, MANIT Branch Bhopal at the following address so as to reach on or before Monday, April 11, 2011.

The Delhi University Medical-Dental Entrance Test (DUMET)-2011 for admission to Under-Graduate courses (MBBS/BDS) 85% quota will be held on Sunday, 22nd May 2011 at Delhi only. Interested candidates may apply on the prescribed application form.

Educational Qualification for admission to MBBS/BDS course: The candidates must have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system with required subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised school conducting regular classes and situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The candidates must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English separately and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST category and 45% marks in case of OBC category) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidates must have studied 11th and 12th classes regularly from a recognised school situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Female candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Children, Widows and Wives of Armed & Para Military Personnel (CWWAPP category) killed or disabled in action in wars 1947-48 onwards and wards of Ex-servicemen personnel and serving personnel of the Defence /Armed Forces and all Police Forces who are in receipt of Gallantry Awards, who have passed qualifying examination from Indian Boards/Universities or Foreign Boards/Universities may also apply for admission to Lady Hardinge Medical College only and have to come for Counselling. They would be offered admission to LHMC only on the basis of their merit in the DUMET-2011. The condition of studying 11th and 12th class from a school situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi shall not be applicable to these candidates.

Note:

(i)    The Physically Handicapped candidates having disability of lower limbs from 50% to 70% are eligible and may apply as per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India.

(ii)  In the event of all the seats reserved for PH category not being filled up from among the Physically Handicapped candidates with the above stipulated physical disability then the seats will be offered to the candidates within the physically disability of 40% to 50%.

How to Apply:

The application form along with Bulletin of Information (BOI) is obtainable from the office of the Deputy Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, 7th Floor, V. P. Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi- 110007, against a Bank Draft/ Banker’s Cheque drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of ‘Registrar, University of Delhi’ payable at Delhi, in the following manner:

GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST-2011

(GPAT 2011)

 Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT-2011) is an all India examination conducted by The MS University of Baroda, Vadodara on behalf of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Admission to postgraduate programmes in pharmacy colleges/institutes with MHRD and other government scholarships/assistantships is open to those who qualify through GPAT. GPAT qualified candidates with Four years Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy are eligible for admission to Master/Doctoral programme in Pharmacy. To avail the scholarship, the candidate must secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. However, candidates with Master's degree in Pharmacy may seek admission to relevant PhD programmes with scholarship/ assistantship without appearing in the GPAT examination.

Bachelor’s degree holders in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates) and those who are in the final year of B. Pharmacy course are eligible for appearing in GPAT-2011-2012 Examination.

Examination Structure

GPAT-2011-2012 Examination will be paper-pencil examination. It will consist of a single paper of 3 hours duration containing 150 questions, each of three (03) marks. The question paper will consist of multiple choice objective questions only. Each question will have four choices for the answer. The candidates will have to mark the correct choice on an Optical Response Sheet (ORS) by darkening the appropriate bubble against each question. Three (03) marks will be awarded for each right answer and zero (00) marks for no attempts. One (01) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

How to Apply for GPAT 2011-2012

Application Submission Process The application fee is Rs 1000/- for General/OBC Category candidates and Rs 500/- for SC/ST/PD* Category candidates. The application fee is inclusive of bank charges and is NON-REFUNDABLE.

Veterinary Council of India invites applications for entrance examination for filling up 15% of total number of seats to be filled on Merit in each Government Veterinary College in India (except from Jammu& Kashmir State) from Indian Nationals for admission to 1st year of BVSc & AH course for academic session 2011-2012.

 Note: - Students from the State of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to appear in this test, as that State has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.

  Date and Venue of Examination: Saturday, the 14th May, 2011 (time 2.00 to 5.00 PM)

 Duration of Course: The duration of BVSc & AH degree course is spread over five complete academic years including a compulsory rotating internship of six months.

Eligibility:-

An applicant is eligible for admission to the AIPVT if the following criteria are met with: -

 Nationality:   He/She is an Indian national. Since the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 have not been extended to the State of Jammu & Kashmir, candidates from that State shall not be eligible to appear in the said examination unless they submit an Affidavit in enclosed Proforma on Nonjudicial Stamp Paper of Rs 10/- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that: - They are not eligible to compete for BVSc & AH seats in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and hence, not eligible to seek admission in Veterinary Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir and They are not domicile of Jammu & Kashmir.

Note: Applications not accompanied with the required Affidavit shall be rejected without any further reference in this matter. Such Affidavits submitted by the candidates shall be verified and if found to be false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and legal proceedings initiated against them.

 Essential Qualification: He/ She has passed:-

 1.      The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

OR

2.     The Intermediate Science examination in science from a recognized University/Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English.

Minimum marks: To be eligible for AIPVT, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above. Further, he/she should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General Category in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 /Intermediate Science Examination. Provided also that to be eligible for AIPVT the candidate must have passed the aforesaid subjects individually. For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/the Scheduled Tribes or other special category (Other Backward Classes) of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for General Category.

 Note: - A candidate who is taking the qualifying examination prior to the AIPVT, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the examination but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the BVSc & AH programme, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as per the Minimum Standard of Veterinary Education Degree Course (BVSc and AH) Regulations, 2008 on or before 30th June, 2011 and submit the documentary proof during counseling, if selected.

 II In pursuance of the Hon'ble Supreme Court order dated 10.4.2008 and according to the instructions issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development video MNO 1-1/2005-UIA/847 dated 20.4.2008 it has been decided to implement OBC reservation in respect of seats being contributed to the All India Quota by the Central Education Institutions only.

 Age: He / She has attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December, 2011. Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1st of January, 2012 or later will not be eligible to appear at the AIPVT.

The printout of the computer generated application .complete in all respect as applicable for Offline submission should be sent to the Controller of Examination, Veterinary Council of India, 'A' Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi -110066 by speed Post/ Registered Post only. CAT results today, 8 hit the perfect score

 New Delhi: Eight candidates have notched a 100 percentile score in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010, the results of which were announced on Wednesday. Following them at a 99.9 percentile score are 19 candidates, including two women from Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.

The CAT scores will be used by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) besides a number of business schools in the country to admit students.

Of the top eight, three are from Maharashtra -- two from Mumbai and one from Pune -- and one each from Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Indore.

As has been the trend with CAT for a while now, all eight top scorers are men and come from an engineering background, it is learnt. This does not come as a surprise considering the fact that 88 per cent of the total candidates who took CAT 2010 were from engineering background.

The IIMs, incidentally, have been mulling ways to widen and diversify the candidate profile in order to draw more women and non-engineering candidates to the B-schools.

With results announced, the next big thing on the successful candidates' minds will be the interviews, and the IIMs, it is learnt, have decided to make things easier for them this time. It is learnt that the new IIMs -- in Ranchi, Rohtak, Raipur and Trichy -- are working towards holding a joint system for group discussions and interviews of candidates. The rest of the IIMs are also likely to schedule their interviews in a single city around the same dates to make things easier for the candidates.

The Human Resource Development Ministry had asked all the IIMs to admit students on the basis of an integrated interview process as recommended by the Bhargava Committee. The Ministry had also written to them in July last year, asking them to conduct an integrated interview for admissions like in IITs. While the IIMs rejected the idea of an integrated interview, a middle ground has been arrived at and IIMs have agreed to a single city interview format in which all IIMs will hold interviews one after the other in the same city.

  Pre Medical Entrance Examination (PMEE) – 2011

 HIHT University invites application from eligible candidates for admission into Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Course offered by its Medical College (Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences) for 100 seats for the Academic Year -2011 - 2012 out of which 30% seats are reserved exclusively for the domicile candidates of Uttarakhand. Scholarships to 05 (five) of the domicile candidates of Uttarakhand, who have passed their 10+2 examination from hill districts of Uttarakhand and are willing to serve the people of Uttarakhand after complettion of MBBS course, are available based on meeting the eligibility criteria of HIHT University on the subject.

 ELIGIBILITY PMEE 2011-2012

Age: Only those candidates, whose date of birth falls on or before 31st December, 1994 (minimum 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2011) are eligible to apply. Only date of birth recorded int he High School/ICSE or its equivalent certificate will be accepted. The Upper Age limit shall be 25 years as on 31.12.2011.

 Minimum Qualification: The candidates must have passed the 10+2, i.e. CBSE / ISC / Intermediate Board Examination or its equivalent, after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of such study, comprising of physics, chemistry biology/biotechnology and English from a recognized Board. The Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 60% (For SC/ST/OBC candidates 50%) marks in aggregate taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology and at least 50% (For SC/ST/OBC candidates 40%) marks separately in each of the above subjects in the qualifying examination. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination and whose results are not yet available, are also eligible to appear in the PMEE-2011 but such candidates should submit the mark sheet of the qualifying examination on or before 15.06.2011, such candidates shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS course, if they do not fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility

Candidates who have completed their II PUC / 12th Standard in 2010 and those who are expecting to complete in 2011 are eligible to apply. The candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects during their PUC / 12th Standard.

Selection: Based on the merit list of one of the following national examinations: KVPY – SA (selected as fellow in 2009 - 2010), KVPY – SB (appeared in 2010), KVPY SX/Sb + 2 (appeared in 2010) and AIPMT (appearing in 2011).

How to Apply

The application form may be obtained by any of the following two methods.

Off-line application - Send your request for an application form with two address slips, with your mailing address clearly written (preferably stickers), and a Demand Draft for Rs. 600/- for GN/ OBC/ KM candidates (Rs.300/- for SC/ST/PH categories, along with a copy of an appropriate certificate) to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore - 560 012. The DD has to be drawn in favour of “Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore”. Requests for off-line applications will be received only after January 1, 2011.

Online application -Online application may be prepared and submitted by accessing the IISc website www.iisc.ernet.in/ug with effect from 01.01.2011. Online application fee is Rs. 400/- for GN/OBC/KM candidates and Rs. 200/- for SC/ST/PH categories. After submitting the online application, a printed copy of the filled online application along with a Demand Draft for the required amount must be sent to the Institute. Deadline for submitting online application is 25.03.2011.
