Eligibility:

Qualification: (I) Matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University with Mathematics and Science (Physics and chemistry or both) with min 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC/physically handicapped). Candidates awaiting results of 10th classes can also appear for the written test but the result should be available at the time of admission.

(II) Age: Between 15 to 19 years (22 years for SC/ST/OBC/Physically handicapped) as on 1^st July, 2020. Selection: Selection will be made on All India basis through admission test at Patna on 24/05/2020 (Sunday).

How to Apply:

1) Prospectus and application form (part of prospectus) can be downloaded from our website. However to apply, candidates are required to send filled in application along with Demand Draft towards the cost of prospectus. DD should be in favour of 'Tool Room & Training Centre' payable at Patna.

2) Prospectus and model question papers can be obtained in person from TRTC Office from 11^th May 2020 to 20^th April 2020, on Working days between 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. by paying cost of prospectus.

3) Those who want to avail Prospectus by registered post should send self addressed A-4 size envelope with Registered postal stamp affixed on the envelop along with DD towards the cost of Prospectus. All candidates have to submit the copy of Aadhaar card compulsorily at the time of admission. SC/ST/OBC candidate have to submit caste certificate Issued not below the rank of Magistrate/ SDM/SDO. Physically handicapped candidates have to submit proof of disability. Candidates should not send any original certificate along With the application form.

Physically handicapped candidates should be able to stand without any support and work with both the hands freely. They should be capable of wearing safety shoes.

Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2020 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2020) stating that the candidate has completed all the formalities/requirements for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of certificate.

The PAT is a written test comprising two papers of 100 marks each.

For admission to the PhD Programme in Engineering Departments, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:

·          Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Medical Sciences/ Veterinary Sciences/ Pharmacy in a relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks.

·          Bachelor’s degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0.

·          Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Medical Sciences (from other than IITs) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.5 or 70% of marks.

Selection:-

The Institute reserves the right to call a limited number of candidates for written test or/ and interview, based on performance in GATE/NET, grades/marks in the qualifying examination, etc. 

Regular:-

A student in this category works full-time for his/her Ph.D. degree.  He/She receives assistantship from the Institute or fellowship from CSIR/UGC or any other recognized funding agency, such as NBHM, DBT, etc. Upper age limit: 28 years (Junior Research Fellow). The applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC will be allowed relaxation in the age limit as per Govt. of India rules.
