The foundation of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University (originally known as Agra University) was laid on the 1st of July, 1927, as a result of hectic efforts of a band of enthusiastic educationists like Rev. Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Allahabad (MNNIT) is an Institute with total commitment to quality and excellence in academic pursuits. vi.           Part time Students (M.Tech./MBA): Candidates under this category are admitted for the M.Tech./MBA programmes which are being offered on part-time basis. A Part-time candidate must have been in full time service for at least two years after completion of qualifying degree at the time of admission. The part-time classes shall be held in the evening on working days. Their semester load requirements for course work shall be about half of the full time course. The minimum duration of such course shall be of three years and maximum duration of the course shall be of five years. These courses are for the professionals working in the Allahabad district. Programmes offered will run subject to availability of sufficient number of candidates in respective programme. In case, if less number of candidates qualify for a particular programme of the department than the minimum required, then the candidates will have the option to switch to another M. Tech. programme based on their eligibility and subject to approval of competent authority. Executive MBA course will not operate if the number of seats filled is less than 1/3rd of the total seats.

vii.         Full time Sponsored

a.    Full-Time sponsored Masters' programmes students are those who receive financial support from AICTE under QIP scheme OR from Government/Semi-Government Institutions/Government/Semi-Government Organizations, under study leave. Such a candidate must be sponsored by his/her employer and must have been in employment with the sponsoring organization for at least two years at the time of admission. Candidates in service are to be released on study leave or extraordinary leave from the organization for full-time research work at the Institute and must furnish a sponsorship along with No-objection certificate from the employer.

b.    Foreign students shall be sponsored by their Government or awarded scholarship by Govt. of India, Indian Council for Culture Relations (ICCR) or other such agencies/organizations.

Admissions Criteria:

1. All admissions shall be made on the basis of the merit of Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 that was conducted by Indian Institute of Management followed by CMAT 2020 (another National Level Test) on the basis of normalization of their scores.

2. The University will also conduct its own CET for admissions, but shall be utilizing the merit of CET only if the seats are left vacant after finishing CAT2019 followed by CMAT/ 2020 merit list

1. There shall be no CET conducted by the University for Admissions to B.Arch. Programme.

2. Eligibility Conditions:

i. Eligibility conditions shall be as per Council of Architecture notification(s) applicable at the time of admissions. Candidates may see the web site of the Council, http://www.coa.gov.in/

ii. All candidates possessing any of the above qualifications must also have passed the National Aptitude Test of Architecture (NATA) – 2020 conducted by Council of Architecture.

iii. For eligibility for NATA candidates are advised to refer the official website of Council of Architecture i.e. http://www.coa.gov.in/

Admission Criteria:

1.    Admissions will be made on the basis of NATA Score and the percentage of Aggregate* marks, i.e., (percentage will be calculated considering best five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English among all paper offered to the studen) obtained in the qualifying examination, i.e. senior secondary level or equivalent. No candidate shall be admitted unless she/he has passed 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also at least 50% marks in aggregate or passed 10+3 diploma examination with mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

2.    Merit list shall be prepared based on:

a. Architectural Aptitude (NATA score): 50%

b. Qualifying Examination (i.e., 10+2 OR 10+3 years diploma recognized by the Central / State Government: 50%

3.    Appearing in NATA Examination conducted by Council of Architecture

a. All candidates are advised to take NATA Examination of the Council of Architecture at their initiative. If a candidate has not qualified in the NATA – 2020 test, then the candidate shall not be considered for admission.

b. All candidates are required to keep three copies of the NATA score as one copy shall be required to be submitted at the time of document verification to the University, one copy shall be required to be submitted to the institution where admitted and one copy as a record copy by the candidate.

4.    In the inter-se-merit of candidates securing equal ranks, following criteria will be adopted to determine the merit:

i. The Candidate getting higher score in NATA;

ii. In case of candidates securing equal scores in NATA, then the candidate getting higher marks in Mathematics of the qualifying examination;

iii. In case of tie in (i) and (ii) above, the candidate getting higher marks in qualifying examination;

It was the Indian Sugar Committee appointed by the Government of India in 1920 that first recommended the establishment of an all Indiainstitute for research in sugar technology. The need for a central sugar research institute was also emphasized by the Royal Commission in Agriculture in 1928 and the Tariff Board in 1930. The Government of India accordingly established the Imperial Institute of Sugar Technology at Kanpur in October, 1936 by taking over the Sugar Section of the Harcourt Butler Technological Institute H.B.T.I. Kanpur. The Imperial Institute of Sugar Technology was placed under the administrative control of the Imperial Council of Agricultural Research but continued to be housed in the building of the (H.B.T.I.) With the formation of Indian Central Sugarcane Committee in 1944, the administrative control of the Imperial Institute of Sugar Technology was transferred to that committee. Consequent upon India's attaining independence, the name of the institute was changed to Indian Institute of Sugar Technology (I.I.S.T.). With the formation of the Development Council for Sugar Industry under the provisions of the Industries (Development and Regulation ) Act, 1951, the functions of the Indian Central Sugarcane Committee were abridged with effect from 1st January, 1954 and the administrative control of the Institute was transferred to the Government of India, Ministry of Food & Agriculture. In April, 1957, the name of the Institute was again changed to National Sugar Institute (N.S.I.). The Institute shifted from the H.B.T.I., to its present premises in Kalyanpur in 1963.
