About College:

The history of the IIT system dates back to 1946 when a committee was set up by Hon'ble Sir Jogendra Singh, Member of the Viceroy's Executive Council, Department of Education, Health and Agriculture to consider the setting up of Higher Technical Institutions for post war industrial development in India. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, with a number of secondary institutions affiliated to it. The report also urged the speedy establishment of all the four institutions with the ones in the East and the West to be started immediately. The committee also felt that such institutes would not only produce undergraduates but they should be engaged in research, producing research workers and technical teachers as well. The standard of the graduates should be at par with those from first class institutions abroad. They felt that the proportion of undergraduates and postgraduate students should be 2:1. With the above recommendations of the Sarkar committee in view, the first Indian Institute of Technology was born in May 1950 in Hijli, Kharagpur, in the eastern part of India. Initially the IIT started functioning from 5, Esplanade East, Calcutta and very soon shifted to Hijli in Sept. 1950.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1.    All payments shall be made only through the Demand Draft drawn in favour of NLSIU DED Courses, payable at Bengaluru.

2.    Last date for submitting duly filled-in application is 30th September, 2018 (without late fee) and 15th Ocotber, 2018 (with late fee of Rs. 500/-)

3.    Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. after the last date of admission.

4.    a) Candidate will not be permitted to withdraw from the course after admission. b) The fee paid towards the course will not be refunded under any circumstances.

5.    The title of the course applied should be clearly marked on the envelope and must be addressed to:

PG Diploma and Certificate Courses in Law

Eligibility:

·         PG Diploma Courses: The Candidate shall possess degree from a University recognized by the University Grant Commission

·         Certificate Courses: The candidate shall possess 10+2/PUC or equivalent or a degree from a University recognized by the University Grant Commission

Eligibility Certificate

·         The applicant who has passed the prescribed qualifying examination from recognized University/Boards of examination that are situated outside Karnataka or in a Foreign Country shall compulsorily obtain the Eligibility Certificate from the University before taking the admission

·         Such candidates may apply for the Eligibility Certificates to the Registrar of KSLU with necessary original document in the prescribed form by post or in person pay paying necessary fee

·         The qualifying degree/certificates should be either in Kannada or English only.

Fees for Eligibility Certificate for both PG Diploma and Certificate Course is Rs.1300/- for Indian Students and Rs.7000/- for Foreign Students

Admission Procedure

Admission to both the course shall be made strictly on the basis of merit. While making admission to the respective course reservation policy of the Govt. of Karnataka governing admissions to higher educational institutions issued from time to shall be observed

Reservation Policy

·         02 Seats under supernumerary quota shall be reserved for the Jammu and Kashmir students within the sanctioned intake until the last date of admission as per the orders of Govt. of India

·         5% of seats shall be reserved for the Kashmiri Migrants until the last date of admission as per the orders of Govt. of India, Dept. of HRD, New Delhi

·         Reservation for Hyderabad – Karnataka students under Art 371(J) as per the rules shall be adhered to 08% of the seats shall be reserved for them

·         03% of seats shall be reserved for physically challenged students as per rules applicable

The admission statement in Proforma-1 and 2 shall be forwarded to the KSLU official email ID caseworker.acad.kslu@gmail.com (South Zone) and kaksluacademic9@gmail.com (North Zone) on the date of specified in Academic Calendar 2018-19

·         Fee collected shall be remitted through a single Demand Draft drawn in favour of Finance Officer, KSLU, Hubballi. The admission statements and the DD shall be submitted to the Registrar, KSLU along with the Proforma No. 01 containing details of fees
