About College:

Manav Rachna International University draws its legacy from Career Institute of Technology and Management (CITM) which was established in 1997 as an Engineering College affiliated to MDU Rohtak with the approval of AICTE with an Annual Intake of 180 in three B.Tech Programs. It was first private self financing Engineering College in District Faridabad and became one of the most preferred destination for Admission seekers in NCR in a short period. CITM was granted Autonomous status in July 2008 by Government of Haryana. MHRD, Government of India conferred Deemed to be University status to CITM on the recommendations of UGC and AICTE in October 2008 in the name and style of Manav Rachna International University (MRIU). The University admitted its first batch of students in 2009.

·         Admission to Ph.D. Programme shall be based on merit in entrance test and interview. Entrance Test is of 100 Marks, written test (70 Marks) of 90 minutes duration (MCQs) followed by Interview (30 Marks).

·         The written test shall comprise two sections, each with 50% weightage:

·         Section A consisting Research Methodology and Aptitude (Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Statistics)

·         Section B is Subject Specific.

·         The candidates who have qualified UGC- NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE/ M. Phil. are exempted from written test.

·         In case of students who have passed the qualifying examination through distance/open education system of any recognized University/Board/ Institution, the necessary documentary evidence related to the location of his/her study centre, i.e. study centre proof, a certificate from the University imparting open/distance education certifying the location of the study centre.

·         Conduct and Character Certificate in original from the Head of the Institution from where the qualifying examination has been passed or from Gazetted Officer (Original), not more than 6 (six) months old.

·         Physical Fitness Certificate: All students shall be required to submit a Medical Certificate in given in Part-B in Admission Brochure 2019-20 (As per Appendix 6).

The year 1987 saw the beginnings of the tectonic shift in perceptions about law as a career from one of the least attractive careers, to one of the most sought after, with the establishment of the National Law School, Bangalore. It was a time of hope for the legal fraternity. The concept of a national institution to act as a pace-setter and a testing ground for bold experiments in legal education came up before the Bar Council of India in the context of the Council's statutory responsibility for maintaining standards in professional legal education (under the Advocates Act).

(i)  Eligibility for admission to Ph.D. Degree in Law: He/She has obtained the LL.M. Degree of Dr. R.M.L. National Law University, Lucknow or its equivalent Degree of any other university recognized by the UGC with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade B in the UGC 7 point scale. However, there shall be a relaxation of 5% in the aforesaid minimum 55% marks for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) of U.P./differently-able categories.

(ii)         Eligibility requirement for admission to Ph.D. Degree in Allied Subjects:

(a)  A Master's Degree of any university recognized by UGC having at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade B in the UGC 7 point scale in any subject relevant to the proposed research work with a Bachelor's Degree in Law, or

(b)  A Master's Degree of any university recognized by UGC having at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade B in the UGC 7 point scale in any subject relevant to the proposed research work with established research credentials by way of publications; or

(c)  A Master's Degree of any university recognized by UGC having at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade B in the UGC 7 point scale in any subject relevant to the proposed research work with long term in-depth practical experience in the area to be researched.

However, there shall be a relaxation of 5% in the aforesaid minimum 55% marks for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) of U.P./differently-able categories. Provided that a candidate with the aforesaid qualifications in Social Sciences or Humanities shall be admitted to the Programme, if the research he/she intends to pursue, interfaces with the discipline of law. A candidate whose result is awaited may also apply, however he/she must possess the requisite eligibility requirement on the date of Entrance Test.

How to Apply:

The filling of application form shall include:

(i)       All eligible candidates shall apply in the prescribed Application Form on or before 16.08.2019.

Jiwaji University Gwalior came into existence on May 23, 1964, through M.P. Govt. Ordinance no. 15 of 1963. Late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the then President of India, laid the foundation stone on 11th December 1964 at a sprawling campus of over 225 acres of land at Naulakha Parade ground. This was a generous contribution of Scindia family, in particular Kailashwasi Maharaja Shrimant Jiwaji Rao Scindia and late Rajmata Shrimati Vijayaraje Scindia. ·         The age of Candidates should not be more than Twenty Five years on 1st July, 2015. In case of in-service candidates, the age limit shall be relaxable up to 40 years. The history of the IIT system dates back to 1946 when a committee was set up by Hon'ble Sir Jogendra Singh, Member of the Viceroy's Executive Council, Department of Education, Health and Agriculture to consider the setting up of Higher Technical Institutions for post war industrial development in India. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, with a number of secondary institutions affiliated to it. The report also urged the speedy establishment of all the four institutions with the ones in the East and the West to be started immediately. The committee also felt that such institutes would not only produce undergraduates but they should be engaged in research, producing research workers and technical teachers as well. The standard of the graduates should be at par with those from first class institutions abroad. They felt that the proportion of undergraduates and postgraduate students should be 2:1. With the above recommendations of the Sarkar committee in view, the first Indian Institute of Technology was born in May 1950 in Hijli, Kharagpur, in the eastern part of India. Initially the IIT started functioning from 5, Esplanade East, Calcutta and very soon shifted to Hijli in Sept. 1950.

·         First class (or equivalent ) in Bachelor of Laws LL.B./B.L. (5 years) program from any recognised University, or

·         First Class (or equivalent) in Bachelor of Laws LL.B./B.L.(3 years) program from any recognised University along with Bachelor's Degree (not less than 3 years) in Humanities/ Science/ Commerce or equivalent.

·         Students having LL.B (Hons.) in Intellectual Porperty Law from the IIT Kharagpur with CGPA of 8.5 or above are eligible for admission without appearing in the All India Common Entrance Examination (CET).

·         The requisite qualifying marks for admission to postgraduate and research programmes of the Institute are CGPA 6.5 in 10 point scale or 60% marks for GE/OBC candidates (these are CGPA 6.0 and 55% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates). The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks if the degree awarding institute provides marks in CGPA system. Their admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in the transcript. If the CGPA is on a different scale other than 10.0, the eligibility of the candidate will be calculated corresponding to the equivalence stated above.

Online Entrance Examination:

Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai (The institute reserves the right to cancel or change test centres. The changes, if any, will be notified to candidate well in advance).

How to Apply:

Admission Procedure

Applicants are required to apply online. Application fee is Rs. 3000/- for General/OBC and Rs. 1500/- for SC/ST candidates. Women candidates are exempted from the payment of application fees.

Instructions To Fill In Online Application Form

STEP-I: Fill in the ONLINE application form

Register with Your Email Id and Login. FILL in the appropriate data. Please note that you have to upload your testimonials wherever it is required to validate your information along with your digital photograph and signature.

STEP-II: Make PAYMENT and SUBMIT Application

Payment of application fee has to be made through online payment gateway only.

STEP-III: Take PRINT

After final submission of your online application, you will be able to generate your online application print with your specific details/data. This application print may be retained with you for future requirement.

Please note that you NEED NOT SEND the application by post. Your application will be considered on the basis of your final submission through online. You can check submission, shortlisting, selection and other application related status from Application Status menu. You should remember your login id and password for the same.

Shortlisting Information:

The candidates shortlisted for online test will be informed through email only. Their names will also be notified in the webpage. However, candidates can see their status through login and download the interview letter, if shortlisted.
