About College:

 The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients. He gave the name "Hamdard" to his venture which means "sympathy for all and sharing of pain". His illustrious son, Hakeem Abdul Hameed, carried forward the philosophy and objectives of Hamdard in independent India. Even at the time of partition of India in 1947, Hakeem Abdul Hameed was dreaming of setting up a complex of educational institutions which would concentrate on highlighting the contribution of Islam and Islamic culture to Indian civilization and development of Unani medicines for curing diseases

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge society through inclusive education. Price of the "Students Handbook and Prospectus" for MBA (Banking and Finance) is Rs. 1,000 and for PGDFMP Rs. 500 at the sale counter.

Application forms can be collected from The Registrar, Student Registration Division, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi- 110068.

Applications can also be collected from the regional centres whose addresses have been enlisted in the official website.

The application form can be ordered by post with the sum of Rs. 50 added to the price of the application form in demand draft in favour of IGNOU payable at the city from where it has been requested. The demand draft must have the name, address and programme code mentioned on the reverse of the demand draft.

Applications forms can be also downloaded from the official website, www.ignou.ac.in, and in that case the cost of the form must be included with the programme fee.

The course fee for MBA (Banking and Finance) is Rs. 31,500 and for PGDFMP it is Rs. 7,500

Paper Pattern for OPENMAT-XL 2017:

The OPENMAT-XL exam has 4 tests:

Test 1   General Awareness        No. of questions: 30

Test 2   English Language                       No. of questions: 50

Test 3   Quantitative Aptitude      No. of questions: 50

Test 4   Reasoning                     No. of questions: 70

All questions will be compulsory.

There will be 200 questions.

Total duration of the test will be 180 minutes.

No credit will be given for multiple answers for single question.

There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

Use of calculators will not be allowed. Students need to do rough work in the space provided at the end of the test booklet

The bill for the establishment of Jawaharlal Nehru University was placed in the Rajya Sabha on September 1, 1965 by the then Education Minister, Mr M.C. Chagla. During the discussion that followed, Hon. M.P. Mr. Bhushan Gupta voiced the opinion that this should not be yet another university. New faculties should be created, including scientific socialism, and one thing that this university should ensure was to keep noble ideas in mind and provide accessibility to students from weaker sections of society. The JNU Bill was passed in Lok Sabha on 16th November 1966 and the JNU Act came into force on 22nd April, 1969.

The University is located, since 1976, on a campus that is spread over approximately 1000 acres of land on the Aravali range in New Delhi, which has now been turned into a green and open area though many academic buildings, hostels, and residences for faculty and staff have come up during the last forty years. Presently the University has over 7300 students, who come from all parts of the country and abroad, and from all sections of society.
