The National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) was established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at Hyderabad, in 1976, to address issues related to agricultural research and education management. The Osmania University, established in 1918, is the seventh oldest in the country, third oldest in South India and the first to be established in the princely State of Hyderabad.  Though the need for a university for the Hyderabad State was felt, both by the intelligentsia and the people for a long time, the initiative came from a civil servant, Sir Akbar Hydari, who was then the Home Secretary to the State Government.  Sir Akbar, in a Memorandum to the Education Minister in early 1917, emphasized the need to establish a University for Hyderabad with ‘Urdu’ as the medium of instruction “as it is the language of the widest currency in India, official language of the State, and it is a language which is understood by a vast majority of the population of the State.”  He believed that higher education must have its foundations deep in the national consciousness.

The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) was established in 1964 for the study of issues and policies relating to public enterprises (PEs).  Shri.S.S Khera, ICS, the then Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, had conceived the idea of a research institution that would undertake a systematic and sustained study of issues relevant to the formulation of policies towards public enterprises. In the early sixties, when PEs were designed as the principal instrument to serve the social and economic objectives of development, Shri. Khera felt that there was need for an institute which would collect relevant information and documents on PEs, study specific issues and undertake consultancy and training exclusively for PEs. Dr.V.V. Ramanadham, the then Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce, Osmania University, translated Shri Khera’s concept into a reality that is IPE, with the active support and guidance provided by the late Dr. D. S Reddy, then Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University as an autonomous, non-profit society at the initiative of the then Cabinet Secretary to the Government of India, Shri S.S.Khera, ICS, and late Dr.D.S.Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University. The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, recognized the Institute as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in social science research in 1976.  The Institute is partly funded by the ICSSR and the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit. The merit list is drawn on the basis of performance in NCAT/CAT/GATE/GMAT/CMAT, PI and RA. Admission under Management Quota

The Institute has the policy of admitting a limited number of students under sponsored category, not exceeding 5% of the total students admitted.

Candidates to be considered for admission under sponsored category must fulfil the following requirements:

·         Satisfy all the eligibility criteria for admission to the respective two-year full time post graduate programs of the Institute as mentioned in the NICMAR website

·         Must have appeared for the admission process of the Institute including NICMAR Common Admission Test (or, other entrance exams as specified in admission procedure) and Personal Interview

·         Application form can be downloaded from the University Website

·         Application form for HORTICET-2019 Entrance Test for Polytechnic (Horticulture) students for admissions to four years B.Sc. (Hon.) Horticulture Degree Program 2019-20.

·         Interested candidates may apply for admission in prescribed Proforma along with a Demand Draft for Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and fifty only) for General Candidates and Rs.350/- in case of SC/ST & PH candidates drawn in favour of Comptroller, SKLTSHU, payable at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

·         Application, complete in all respects along with 2 self-addressed envelopes affixed with Rs.26/- postal stamp must reach by 5.00 PM on or before 07th September 2019, either in person or by post to HORTICET 2019, Registrar, Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, Administrative Office, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030.

Note

Late fee for submission of application form on or before 11th September 2019 is Rs.1500/- for General candidates and Rs.750/- for SC/ST and PH candidates in the form of D.D. drawn in favour of Comptroller, SKLTSHU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

About College:

Central Institute of Tool Design (CITD) established in 1968 by the Govt. of India with the assistance of UNDP and ILO, is a poineering Institution in the field of Tool Engineering in the Country. The Institute was initially established as an United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Project and was executed by International Labour Organisation (ILO). The Precision machinery and equipment was donated by UNDP and the faculty were trained abroad in the area of Tool Engineering. The UNDP Experts stayed at CITD for about 5 years and trained officers, faculty & staff of CITD in manufacture and design of tooling.
