Eligibility:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Differently Abled (DA)* categories] from a University incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualifying examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Successful candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/ she submits the certificate latest by June 30, 2019 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2019) stating that the candidate has completed all the formalities/requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of certificate.

Prospective candidates must maintain a valid email account and consistent phone number throughout the selection process. CIMP will not be responsible for non-delivery of messages if the email address and phone number supplied in the application form are invalid /changed later.

Though CIMP uses CAT and XAT scores for short-listing the candidates for Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), the IIMs and XLRI have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

Diploma Programme on Panchayati Raj Governance & Rural Development (DP-PRGRD) First Batch

Eligibility:

The minimum educational qualification for admission is Graduation in any discipline. The following categories of functionaries are encouraged for this programme:

Admission Procedure

The applicants have to register online for the programme by accessing www.nird.org.in. Applicants should upload attested Xerox Copies of marks sheets, degree certificate and other relevant academic / professional record. Weightage in selection would be given only on the basis of certificates and transcripts that are attached. The candidates selected for admission will intimated by post. The list of selected candidate will also be displayed on the NIRD&PR website. Only the applicants who pay the fees within the stipulated date are treated as admitted. Verification of all the original certificates will be done at the time of contact classes. Candidates will be permitted to appear for the term-end examination only after the verification of relevant original certificates, until then their admission will be provisional.

Programme Fee

The fee of the One Year Diploma Programme on Panchayati Raj Governance and Rural Development is Rs 10000/- (Rs. Ten Thousand only). Candidates admitted have to pay the relevant fee in two equal instalments or in one lump-sum within the prescribed date mentioned in the Admission Offer Letter. Realizing the potentialities and needs of modernization of the plantation sector through management education and training, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India constituted a core group in 1990 to set up a strategic institution of management education in the plantation sector. IIPM envisaged as a centre of excellence, to act as a think tank and an intellectual resource base for the plantation and associated agri-business sector. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has been established under THE JAMMU AND KASHMIR SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI UNIVERSITY ACT, 1999.an Act of the J&K State Legislature (ACT No. XII of 1999 dated 12th May 1999) as an autonomous, highly Technical & fully Residential University. The University started functioning as an academic unit in Aug 2004 when it was inaugurated on 19th August 2004 at the hands of the then Hon'ble President of India Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. Dr. Kalam also delivered the first lecture to the students of the University.

About College:

The Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) located in Bhubaneswar has been brought under the fold of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in August 2002. The institute was earlier under the administrative and financial control of Department of Science and Technology, Government of Orissa. Prime minister of India dedicated the institute to the nation on July 15, 2003 with a declaration to develop as a "National Centre for Excellence". The mandate of ILS is to undertake basic and translational research in frontier areas of life sciences. The research interests of the faculty are in three major areas: (a) Infectious Disease Biology, (b) Gene Function and Regulation and (c) Translation Research and Technology Development. In addition, new collaborations with industry have been established to tap commercial potential of laboratory science.

Course Name:

Ph.D. [Research Areas: Cancer Biology, Infectious Disease Biology, Interdisciplinary Areas]

Eligibility:

1.    Candidates should have passed their M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.Pharm./ M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in life sciences and allied subjects (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Biophysics/ Chemistry/ Microbiology, etc.) with minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent grade point). Programming/scripting experience would be a plus for candidates interested in Bioinformatics. Candidates awaiting final results may also apply, however, if shortlisted, they have to produce their final mark sheet on the date of the interview, failing which they will not be interviewed.

2.    Candidates should have also qualified in CSIR/UGC-JRF or DBT-JRF or DBT-BINC-JRF or UGCRGNF or ICMR-JRF or DST-INSPIRE or GATE or GPAT. If the original certificate is not available, the candidate has to provide a photocopy of the original admit card and the particular result page highlighting their roll number, along with the application.

3.    The candidate should be below 28 years in age, as on 24th December, 2018. An age relaxation of five years in the case of SC/ST/women/PH candidates and three years in the case of OBC candidates will be given (as per Govt. of India rules).

Application Fees

Applicants except SC/ST candidates are required to send a non-refundable D.D. for Rs.500/- in favour of “Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar” payable at Bhubaneswar.

The fellowship and other emoluments will be as per the guidelines of the funding agencies - SERB/DST/DBT/CSIR/ICMR and as revised from time to time.

To and fro bus/rail fare by the shortest route limited to second class sleeper will be paid to all the candidates appearing for the interview.

Interested and eligible candidates may fill-up the prescribed application form as available in ILS website. Duly filled-up application along with self-attested copies of all relevant certificates and demand draft should be send to the “Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Nalco Square, Bhubaneswar-751023”. The application should reach the Institute on or before the last date. Applications received after the last date will not be accepted. The envelope should be superscribed with “Application for Ph.D. Program in 1) Cancer Biology 2) Infectious Disease Biology or 3) Interdisciplinary Areas”. Candidates must mention clearly ONE of the research areas for which they are applying. Candidates interested to apply for more than one research area should send separate applications for each research area, with separate fees.

Application to ILS-Ph.D. program does not automatically guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for interview. Director, ILS reserves the right to withdraw the procedure without assigning any reasons thereof.

Eligibility:

Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a statutory university with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates graduating by 31st July, 2019 can also apply but must prove their eligibility latest by 30th September, 2019. Those not producing the eligibility certificates as per the date mentioned will be disqualified/de-registered irrespective of their having joined the program provisionally.

Selection Process

(a) Applicants seeking admission are required to have qualified any one of the following:

  2. MAT- 2018 onwards
  3. CMAT- 2018 onwards
  4. XAT-2018
  5. GMAT
  6. ATMA

(b) Short-listed applicants only (on the basis of relative merit amongst received applications) will be called for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

(c) Submission of application does not automatically qualify the candidate for GD/PI and no refund of application fee is permissible on any account.

(d) The final selection will be based on the test score, language proficiency and performance in the GD & PI.
