Tolani Maritime Institute is one of the largest maritime educational centers offering MARINE ENGINEERING and NAUTICAL TECHNOLOGY degree programs. TMI graduates are awarded B.S. Course Name:

Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)

Duration: 1 Year

Eligibility:

Age limit as per IMU is 25 years. However individual shipping companies have their own eligibility criteria.

Academic Qualifications:

You must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with:

·         At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (P C M).

·         At least 50% marks in English

Physical Standards

To be declared fit for selection, a candidate must be in good mental and physical health and free from any deficiency likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties, as per the medical standards laid down by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India. Candidates for DNS (IMU) programme must have 6/6 vision in both eyes. Color blindness is not permitted.

Medical fitness has to be certified by DG Shipping approved company doctors.

Placement

Candidates finally selected by the shipping companies will be offered onboard training and placement upon successful completion of the course.

6 Faculty of Ayurved:

A candidate who has passed a Master Degree examination in Ayurved from a recognized Institute which is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine

7 Faculty of Homoeopathy

A candidate who has passed a Master Degree examination in Homoeopathy from a recognized Institute which is recognized by the Central Council of Homoeopathy Application for research in inter-disciplinary areas and from applicants belonging to a faculty or a subject other than the faculty or subject in which the research is proposed to be done and also from the international students, shall be considered on the basis of the proven ability and aptitude for researcher as evidenced by his/her publications/ research work/academics.

A relaxation of 5% of marks from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non- creamy layer) differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Vidyapeeth from time to time. A candidate who have cleared the M. Phil. It is well known that the Cooperative Movement envisaged to provide answers to the problems of rural credit in India, owes its origin to the sponsorship of Government. Beginning with Sir Fredrick Nicholson's Report in 1885 on the issue of training to the Cooperative leadership entrusted with the duty of building up the Cooperative Movement, has always been emphasized. But, it was not until 1945 that the Saraiya Committee on Cooperative Planning recommended the establishment of a Cooperative Training College at the State level and Central level. The Cooperative Training College was established in 1947 when late Shri Vaikunth Mehta was the Minister for Finance, Cooperation and Village Industries with a view to bringing concepts of management training to the service of the Cooperatives.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Agri Business and Management 28th Batch

Eligibility

i)             Any graduate from a recognized University, with minimum education of 15 years (10+2+3) full time with at least 50% marks for the General / OBC (non creamy) / EWS candidates and 45% marks for SC / ST candidates in Graduation.

ii)            Latest Valid Test scores of any one of the National level Tests - CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA /CMAT / GMAT (GMAT/GRE for foreign nationals) at the time of application. These guidelines may get modified / subject to be modified depending upon AICTE guidelines from time to time.

iii)           The percentage obtained by the candidate in the Bachelor's Degree would be based on the practice followed by the University / institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.

·         Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. Programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

·         Relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/Differently-Abled categories or for those who had  obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.

·         Candidates who have successfully completed the M.Phil. Degree with 55% marks or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed), shall be eligible to take admission to the Ph. D. Degree. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST//differently-abled categories.

·         Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. Programme.

·         Master's degree or equivalent in any subject with 55% marks plus minimum of five years of work experience in the area of interdisciplinary research in which admission is being sought. Interdisciplinary research involves two or more academic, scientific, or artistic disciplines. The candidate must show evidence of his/her relevant experience in interdisciplinary area of research.

Note

nternational candidates (NRIs, Foreign Nationals and PIOs who have obtained Master's degree from foreign universities) are required to qualify IELTS with 6.5 score or IELA Test (Band 3) of SIU ELTIS, an equivalent test for English language proficiency.

How to Apply:

Instructions for Registration: This process is meant for registering you on the website for the admission process of SIU's Ph.D. Programme, 2019. The candidates are instructed to

  1. Note that the entire application process is online and they are not required to submit any hard copy of application to the University.
  2. Check their eligibility as per the Ph.D. Rulebook. Candidates not possessing a Master's Degree awarded by the Universities shall be required to produce equivalence of qualifications from statutory bodies as per the UGC norms/ Ph. D. Rule Book. Please note that equivalence of degree and approval of the institute/ programme are not the same.
  3. Read the guidelines for filling up the form and have all the documents ready for uploading.
  4. The candidates are expected to know the sub-streams on offer and the syllabi given on the website.
  5. The candidates are expected to know the structure of online PET 2019 mentioned on the website.
  6. Please note, the applicants exempted from the entrance test will have to download the admit card for attending Personal Interview (PI). The issue of admit cards is subjected to fulfilling the eligibility conditions.
  7. Check calendar/schedule and visit the website regularly to know the status of your application and other related activities.
  8. The admit cards for PET, PI and admission offers shall be available through log-in process and no list shall be displayed on SIU web-site.

About College:

The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, (DIAT) as it is known today, came into being as the Institute of Armament Studies in 1952 in the CME campus. In 1967, the Institute was renamed as "Institute of Armament Technology, (IAT)", which moved to its present location at Girinagar, Pune. From the relatively narrow scope of Armament Studies alone in the Fifties, the role of the Institute was considerably enlarged by the Defence R&D Council in 1964 and further in 1981. On the basis of accreditation by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Pune University recognised eight courses for the award of ME degree in 1980. In the year 2000, the Institute acquired the status of a Deemed University. IAT has been renamed as DIAT w.e.f. 1st April 2006.

Eligibility:

a)   Qualification

A candidate, seeking admission to the Ph.D. program, shall be required to have passed the qualifying examination securing at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA/DGPA. A relaxation of 5 % of marks may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy-layer) / PWD - (Divyang) categories. The qualifying degrees are:-

a) Master of Engineering/Master of Technology (or equivalent) for Ph.D. in Engineering/Science.

b) Master in Science (M.Sc. or equivalent) for Ph.D. in Science

A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination with the requisite percentage of marks as prescribed above and who fulfill the following requirement may be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme:-

a) Qualified in a national level test such as, CSIR/UGC NET , Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship, subject wise and category wise GATE/NET cut off will be decided by DIAT.

b)   Age limit

Not above 30 years as on 10th Dec 2019.

Relaxations as per GOI rules apply to SC / ST / OBC / PH applicants.

Note:-

·         The Institute shall implement the reservation policy in Ph.D. admission in accordance with relevant act of Parliament being in-force from the time.

·         A physically Handicapped SC/ST/OBC candidate shall not get double benefit of being an SC/ST/OBC as also a PWD candidate.

Selection: Admission to Ph.D. will be based on the performance in the entrance exam (written test) conducted by the department concerned followed by a personal interview.

Financial Assistance:

a)    The selected Ph.D. candidates against this admission notice, admitted as full-time Ph.D. students will be provided financial assistance as per Institute rules, in force from time to time. The Ph.D. students (who are provided Institute fellowship) will be required to assist in research and teaching activities for a maximum of 10 hours per week in addition to their own duties.

b)    In addition to the Ph.D. scholarship, such candidates would also be entitled for contingency grant (presently `15,000/- per year) in accordance with the decisions of the Institute.

Boarding / Lodging:

Selected candidates will be provided hostel accommodation (Exclusive Girls Hostel available). Mess facilities are available on payment basis. The present monthly charges towards boarding and lodging are ` 7000/- (subject to revision). However, ` 40,000/- is to be deposited at the beginning of each Semester towards lodging and boarding charges, in advance. A security deposit of ` 10,000/- would need to be paid to Hostel Office.

Application fee of Rs. 500/- for General / OBC category (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST & Women candidates) per programme is required to be paid either online (through State Bank collect) or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of Vice Chancellor, DIAT, Pune, payable at Pune. The filled application form in the prescribed proforma has to be forwarded in a sealed envelope, super scribed “Application for Admission to PhD Programme in the Department of ______” to the Joint Registrar (Academics), Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune 411025 along with the DD / online generated receipt and self certified copies of mark lists, certificates and other testimonials. These documents should reach DIAT latest by on or before 10th Dec 2019. Postal delay will not be entertained. Candidates seeking admission to more than one Department need to apply separately.

General Information:

·         Since the applications may be short listed, mere possessing of the prescribed qualifications would not entitle a person to be called for test/interview. The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for test / interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications / marks higher than that of the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.

·         For short listing of candidates, the department screening committee may decide subject-wise and category wise GATE/NET Cut off.
