It is mandatory to complete the NMAT by GMAC test registration before proceeding for the NMIMS application.

Step 2: Registration at NMIMS: Visit www.nmims.edu enter your NMAT by GMAC registration no. and complete the application process, without this number you will not able to proceed further to fill up NMIMS application form; complete the NMIMS application by paying the registration fees (as applicable).

Eligibility:

Minimum three years Bachelor’s degree in any discipline recognized by the AICTE / UGC / Association of Indian Universities are eligible for the program. (b)  Obtained a Master’s Degree (regular mode) in any discipline from a recognized University including a foreign University with not less than 55% marks or its equivalent.

(c)  Provided that the candidate with qualifications in sciences, social sciences and humanities may pursue his / her research interfacing with public policy or law. Provided further that the candidate whose final result of the qualifying examination is awaited, for any reason, shall be allowed to appear provisionally in the admission test. Such candidate shall have to produce the final result of the qualifying examination at the time of the final presentation of his / her Ph.D. proposal. Provided further that the requirement of 55% marks or its equivalent at Master’s Degree is relaxed to 50% marks or its equivalent in case of candidate belonging to SC / ST / OBC (non- creamy layer) and Specially Abled Persons (SAP). Or

(d)  A Judge who has served for minimum three years as a Judge of High Court in India or Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

(e)  The candidate who has passed the Company Secretary examination conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and has been awarded the Associate Membership of the Institute (ACS) and having a Bachelor Degree in Law from a recognized University through regular stream shall be eligible for admission to the programme. Provided that the research he / she wishes to pursue interfaces with a special focus on public policy or law. Or

(f)    The candidate who has passed the Charted Accountants examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi and has been awarded Membership of the Institute and having a Bachelor Degree in Law from a recognized University through regular stream shall be eligible for admission to the programme. Provided that the research he / she wishes to pursue interfaces with a special focus on public policy or law.

(ii)      The Vice-Chancellor may permit a faculty member of the Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur to take up Ph.D. Degree Programme along with his / her teaching assignment in the interest of faculty development, provided that his / her teaching assignment(s) and other responsibilities do not hamper in any way and fulfills the eligibility conditions prescribed in these Regulations.

How to Apply:

Categories of Enrolment:

The University shall be offering Ph.D. Degree Programme with full time and part time enrolments which shall be as followed:

(i)               Full-time Enrolment

(a)  Enrolment for the Ph.D. Degree Programme shall ordinarily be full-time. The candidate shall put in a minimum of three years, including course work during which the candidate is required to stay at the University for a minimum period of 12 months. There shall thus, be a provision for the candidate to earn credits for research work done outside the University.

(b)  Six years shall be the maximum period in which a full time candidate shall complete the research work and submit it for evaluation.

(ii)             Part-time Enrolment

(a)  A part-time candidate shall put in a minimum of four years, including course work, of part-time study in the University including time spent for research at any other place with the permission of the Supervisor. Provided that the part-time candidate shall put in residence in the University for at least a total period of twelve months spread over the four-year period.

(b)  Six years shall be the maximum period in which the part-time candidate shall complete the research work and submit it for evaluation.

Eligibility:

NIBM will use scores of CAT 2018 / XAT (2019) / CMAT (2019) for short-listing candidates for Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview.

The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.  The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree.  In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply.  Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/ Director of the University/Institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year/is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks.  Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2019 from the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2019) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal/Registrar of their college/institute with at least 50% marks. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is October 31, 2019.  Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.  NIBM would not allow any candidate to join the programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree on or before June 30, 2019. 

Instances of any incorrect information and process violation detected at any stage of the selection process will lead to disqualification of the candidate from the selection process. If such instances go undetected during the current selection process but are detected in subsequent years, such disqualification will take place with retrospective effect.

Admission Procedure

Candidates seeking admission to the PGDM (B&FS) of NIBM should appear for CAT 2018/ XAT (2019)/ CMAT (2019). Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT 2018/ XAT (2019)/ CMAT (2019) scores will be called for Writing Ability Test and Interview during April 2019 in select centers. Short listed applicants may have to take additional written test if required at a later stage. IIMs or any other Institutions will have no role either in selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

Purchase Application form:

1.      The fee to purchase the application form for applicants of General/Defence category is Rs 1500/- and for International/SAARC category is USD 100 or Rs 6900/-.

3.      You can also purchase the application form online via our website or SCDL Associates & HDFC banks from specified locations.

Registration:

Submit by hand or by registered post or by courier, the duly filled application form along with copies of academic documents duly attested by class one gazetted officer or notarised from notary, work experience documents (if any), name change document (if any), 2 passport size photographs, photo identity proof and complete program fee, to SCDL Pune Campus.

Fee Payment:

Submit your complete program fee as per timelines specified online through payment gateway or by demand draft for the enrolled program. The Demand Draft should be in favour of "The Director SCDL, Pune" payable at Pune.

International and SAARC Admissions:

APPLICATION PROCESS

·         Purchase the application form Online for USD 100 or Rs 6900/-.

·         You have to courier the filled application form to SCDL Pune Campus along with necessary documents.

·         Submit the completely filled application form along with attested copies (by Gazetted Officer or notarised by a Notary) of all academic documents, work experience documents (if any), name change document (if any), 2 passport size photographs and photo identity proof.

·         For International and SAARC Students, an address in a foreign country is mandatory, along with address proof or copies of passport page showing visa of the foreign country.

·         Submit Full Fee / First Installment Payment along with the Application Form.

Note:

·         International Students are required to fees in Indian Rupees (INR) instead of US Dollars. The conversion rate of INR to USD will be Rs. 69 to a dollar w.e.f April 01, 2018.

·         The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is an organization of South Asian nations. Its seven founding members are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Applicants from the SAARC Countries (Except India), have to pay Registration Fees as mentioned under SAARC Category.
