FMS 2011 [Delhi University Faculty of Management Studies Entrance Test 2011]

FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES (FMS) UNIVERSITY OF DELHI Announces 2-year full-time MBA, 3-year part-time MBA, 3-year part-time MBA (Health Care Administration) and PhD programmes beginning July 2011

FMS MBA entrance exam is a MBA Entrance Exam conducted by the Faculty of Management Studies. The pattern of the exam includes Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension; all these are covered in about 175 questions.

Two-year full-time MBA, 3-year part-time MBA, 3-year part-time MBA (Health Care Administration) and PhD programmes beginning July 2011

Admission test: MBA and PhD: 05th December, 2010, 2.00 pm

MBA (part time)/MBA (HCA): 23rd January, 2011, 2.00 pm

MBA (full time):

ü       Candidates applying for admission to the 2-year full time MBA must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor’s degree programme after 12 years of formal schooling. The minimum requisite percentage of marks (in aggregate) in different disciplines;

ü       Arts, Commerce or Social Science 50%;

ü       Sciences 55%;

ü       Mathematics or Statistics 60%;

ü       Medicine, Engineering or Technology 60%/CGPA of at least 6.00 in a scale of 10.00

OR

ü       Post Graduate degree or 2nd degree examination after 10+2+3 scheme, securing at least 60% marks. Candidates appearing for the final examination of Bachelor’s/post-graduate degree examination may also apply

Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility will be allowed only to candidates of the following categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH/CW).

MBA (part-time):

Candidates seeking admission to the three-year MBA part time programme must have passed a Bachelor’s degree examination of at least three years duration in Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering or Technology of the university of Delhi or any other university recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 45% marks in aggregate in the first degree examination and possess other qualifications mentioned hereunder. Relaxation from the minimum marks required in the first degree examination may be made for candidates who have obtained 55% or more marks in any post graduate degree or at least 60% marks in diploma in personnel management, diploma in sales and marketing management or diploma in administrative management of the university of Delhi. As on 1st August, 2011, Candidates should have a minimum of three years experience, as an executive or administrator in a commercial, industrial or government establishment after passing the bachelor’s degree examination. Candidates must be sponsored by his/her present employer

MBA (Health Care Administration) (part time): Candidates seeking admission to the three-year MBA (HCA) part time programme shall have passed a Bachelor’s degree examination in medicine of the university of Delhi or any other university recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 5 years experience, as on 1st August, 2011, in Health Care Administration after acquiring the Bachelor’s degree in Medicine. Candidates must be sponsored by his/her present employer

Doctoral programme: Candidates except (i) Teachers of University of Delhi who have completed two years of experience (ii) those appearing in final year examination of MBA (full time/MS/part time/HCA) at FMS or have successfully completed MBA (full time/MS/part time/HCA) from FMS during the last two years (iii) recipients of national scholarships (JRF through UGC/CSIR NET, CSIR/ CAR/ CCSR/ DBT/ DST/ or other GoI Fellowships, are required to take the admission test to be held on Sunday, 5th December, 2010

Candidates exempted from the admission test are required to apply to FMS by submitting the completed form of BRS, FMS, along with a demand draft of Rs 250/- drawn in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi, by 31st January, 2011

Foreign students: All foreign nationals seeking admission should apply through the office of Dy Dean, Foreign students, university of Delhi. Foreign nationals studying in Indian Universities are required to appear in the FMS admission test. Foreign nationals with Indian degree (but not currently staying in India) are required to submit GMAT scores (minimum score of 650) and foreign nationals with foreign degrees are advised to submit GMAT and TOEFL scores

The admission test for MBA (full time) and PhD programmes will be held on 05th December, 2010 and the admission test for MBA (part time) and MBA (HCA) programmes will be held on 23rd January, 2011

Applicants can register themselves for the test through FMS website www.fms.edu by filling up online registration forms and by paying requisite fee of Rs 750/- (Rs 200/- for SC/ST category) for each programme

Eligibility for PGD Entrance Examination 2010-2011:-

1.      The candidate must have passed the degree of Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery (BHMS) from the University of Delhi or from any other University established by - law and recognized by Central Council of Homoeopathy; after undergoing a course of study of five years and six months duration including one year compulsory Internship which must be completed by 31st July 2010 and should have obtained permanent registration from the State Council/ Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine.

2.      Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (Graded Degree) or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy included in the Second Schedule to the Act after undergoing a course of study of not less than two years' duration.

Distribution of Seats:-

50% of the total seats in homoeopathic Post Gradute Courses per specially are reserved for candidates who have passed BHMS Degree from the University of Delhi and the rest 50% of the total seats are open to the candidates who have passed BHMS Degree from other Recognized Universities in India except Delhi University.

 Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM): 2011-12

 Eligibility:

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University. Students who are in the final year and expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before 1st August, 2011 may also apply. Some seats are reserved for the Indian in-service candidates and international in-service candidates sponsored by regional development organizations such as AARDO and CIRDAP. Indian in-service candidates should possess at least two years of work experience in rural development and allied sectors, and are required to apply through their employers. The international candidates should apply through the Secretariats of the respective regional organisations viz, AARDO, CIRDAP. Organisational Sponsorship for all the in-service candidates is essential. In-service Indian candidates are required to appear for the Entrance Test along with the general students. However, a separate merit list will be prepared for them for admissions. The eligibility parameters for international students are placed on the NIRD’s website.

 SELECTION PROCESS:

Selection of candidates will be made through a process of All-India Entrance Test which will test the verbal, quantitative and analytical competencies of the students including written English Language Skills. Group Discussion and Personal Interviews will be conducted for the short-listed students.

TOTAL NO OF SEATS: 60 (may undergo some changes depending upon the availability of infrastructure. Of these, up to 15 seats may be allotted to the in-service Indian and international candidates).

PROGRAMME DURATION: (One year) August, 2011 to July, 2012

COURSE FEE: Indian Students Rs 1.60 lakh; International Students: US $ 6500

Board and Lodging: The annual board and lodging expenses will be approximately Rs 1, 00,000 for Indian students and US $ 4500 for international students. Accommodation will be given to the students in the NIRD hostels/campus.

Caution Deposit: A refundable Caution Deposit of Rs 10,000 for Indian students and US $ 200 for International students (Mess Deposit, Library Deposit and Hostel Deposit) is a requirement.

Seat Registration Fee: Upon selection, a non-refundable Seat Registration Fee of Rs 16,000 should be paid by the Indian students. This amount will be adjusted against the first trimester fee.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Merit and need based scholarships will be made available to deserving Indian students. The North Eastern Council, Shillong, has fully funded the North Eastern students selected for the PGDRDM in the past. Similar financial support to the admitted students domiciled in the North Eastern region is likely for the current year as well. Study loans will also be facilitated by the NIRD for the needy Indian students.

RESERVATION: Reservations for the students of the SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and Persons with Disability (PWD) will be made as per Government of India’s policies.

PLACEMENT: NIRD will endeavour to make placements on successful completion of the PGDRDM, but does not guarantee. However, all the students of the previous batches of the PGDRDM were placed with State and Central government agencies, public sector banks and non-governmental organizations. The same trend is expected this year as well.

ENTRANCE TEST: The Entrance Test will be conducted on 06.02.2011 at the following

centres: Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Kohima, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Pune, Rajkot, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Siliguri, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and Vishakhapatanam. However, the NIRD reserves the right to cancel any of the centres or add new centres for any administrative reasons and assign any other centre to the applicants.

IBSAT 2010, ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test for Admission to MBA and Executive MBA Programs in 2010 Session

IBSAT is an aptitude test conducted by the Federation of Universities (FedUni), for students seeking admission into the management programs. IBSAT consists of multiple choice questions. IBSAT is for 2 hours duration and is aimed to test the applicant's ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension.

Eligibility:-

ü       Graduates (any discipline) in English medium with 50% and above aggregate marks.

ü       Final year students awaiting results can also apply.

Documents to be sent with application form:  The applicants applying through any one of the above modes should enclose the self attested copies of X Class, XII Class and graduation mark sheets (Year wise/Semester wise) along with the OMR Application Form. The students applying online have to forward the attested copies of their mark sheets to the Admissions Officer. The students in the final year of graduation may enclose the mark sheets up to the current semester/ year.

Last date for Application: The last date for receipt of completed OMR Application Form is December 08, 2010. All applicants are advised to adhere to the last date prescribed for submission of the application form. Please submit the application form as early as possible to improve the chances of getting the test center of your choice.
