About College:

The University of Delhi is the premier university of the country and is known for its high  standards in teaching and research and attracts  eminent scholars to  its faculty. It  was  established in  1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential  university by an Act of the then Central Legislative  Assembly.

The President of India is the Visitor,  the Vice  President is  the Chancellor and  the  Chief Justice  of the Supreme Court of India is the Pro-Chancellor of the University.Ever since its  inception, a strong  commitment to  excellence in  teaching and research has  made the University of Delhi a role-model and path-setter for other universities in the country. Its rich academic tradition has  always attracted  the most  talented students  who later on  went on to make  important contributions to their society.

When the  University  took birth, only  three  colleges  existed  in Delhi then:  St.  Stephen’s   College founded  in 1881,  Hindu College founded in 1899 andRamjas College  founded  in  1917, which were subsequently affiliated to it. The University thus had a modest beginning with just three colleges, two faculties (Arts and Science) and about 750 students. In October 1933, the University   offices and the Library shifted to the Viceregal Lodge Estate, and till today this site houses the offices of the main functionaries of the University. The University has grown into one of the largest universities in India. At present, there are 16 faculties, 86 academic departments, 77   colleges  and 5  other  recognised   institutes  spread all over the city, with 132435 regular  students   (UG: 114494,PG:17941) and 261169 students (UG:258831,PG:2338) in non-formal education programme.

Dibrugarh University, the easternmost University of India was set up in 1965 under the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965 enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. It is a teaching-cum-affiliating University with limited residential facilities. The University is situated at Rajabheta at a distance of about five kilometres to the south of the premier town of Dibrugarh in the eastern part of Assam as well as India. The University is located in a campus of 203 hectares out of which 74.3 hectares are under tea plantation.

The University has territorial jurisdiction over seven districts of Upper Assam, viz. Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sibsagar, Golaghat, Lakhimpur and Dhemaji which are spread over both the banks of river Brahmaputra. The geographical jurisdiction of the University covers 21,706 sq. m, which is about 28 percent of the total geographic area of Assam. Keeping in view of the diverse needs of the region a set of goals and objectives had been laid down in the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965. Among them the most important one is "to provide for instruction (including correspondance course) and research in the humanities, science and technology, education, medical and other professional subjects and in others spheres of learning and knowledge, of a standard and thoroughness required and expected of a university of the highest standing, and to secure the advancement, diffusion and extension of knowledge in all spheres of learning."

Our Department uses CAT percentile for short-listing the candidates for our Post-graduate Programme(s) MIB and MHROD. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

The candidate should follow the CAT advertisement of IIMs for procurement of CAT 2013 voucher.

Admission process:The admission to MIB/MHROD courses will be made on the basis of CAT percentile, GD score, and Interview score. Students will have to submit CAT percentile after appearing in the Common Admission Test conducted by IIMs. The candidate has to apply separately for CAT 2013 to IIMs and for GD & Interview to the Department.

Mode of Application:There are four modes of applying to the MIB-MHROD courses.

Duration of the Courses: The duration of course for Post-Graduate degree including MDS Courses shall be three completed years including the period of examination, provided that in case of candidates having a recognized two years Post-Graduate diploma course in the same subject the duration of course shall be two years. Candidates having diploma in a subject, if they seek admission in Post-Graduate degree course in any other subject, will have to undergo 3-years-course as prescribed. The duration of Diploma course shall be of two years.
