About College:

Realizing the potentialities and needs of modernization of the plantation sector through management education and training, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India constituted a core group in 1990 to set up a strategic institution of management education in the plantation sector. IIPM envisaged as a centre of excellence, to act as a think tank and an intellectual resource base for the plantation and associated agri-business sector. It is an exclusive sectoral school of management in Asia, based on a new model intensive institute-industry interaction. In November 1993, the institute was established as an autonomous educational institute of higher learning. It is jointly sponsored by Commodity Boards of India viz., Coffee Board, Tea Board, Rubber Board, Spices Board and Plantation Associations viz., UPASI and India Tea Association (ITA).

Professional Certificate Program on Tea Tasting and Marketing (PCP-TTM) 12th Batch

Eligibility:

·         Graduate in any discipline, recognized by UGC/ AIUs/Foreign Universities.

·         Proficiency in written and oral communication in English is essential. Sponsored candidates by planters, plantation associations, Brokerages, tea manufacturers, tea buyers, Beverage sector and blenders will be given special consideration in eligibility norms.

·         Foreign Nationals/NRIs/PIO candidates can also apply.

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be selected on the basis of interview, psychometric test and blind (sensory) test on tea tasting, if required.

Course Duration

45 days intensive program, starting from 20th May (Monday) to 03rd July (Wednesday) 2019.

Certification

On successful completion of the program with eligible credits, the participants will be awarded Certificate Program on Tea Tasting and Marketing.

Course Fee

The tuition fee for the program is Rs 70,000/- (for National Candidates) and US$ 1175 (for Foreign Nationals /PIO Candidates) to be paid on confirmation of the admission to the program

This does not include mess charges, hostel rent & electricity charges, computer charges, expenses on books & reading material, field/industry visits to North India and other personal expenses.

Reservation

The reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates is applicable as per the Government of India rules, subject to meeting the other eligibility criteria for admission.

*The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution. In case of grades / CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/ institution. If any University/institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100. # Five percent marks relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates.

The above qualification should be from any of the Universities, or other educational institutions, incorporated by an act of the Parliament or State legislature in India; or declared to be deemed as a University under Section3 of UGC Act, 1956; or, recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Candidates who are in the final year of their qualifying Programmes that would make them eligible can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 10, 2019 from the Principal/ Head of the Department / Registrar or Director of the University / Institute stating that they have appeared for the examinations (including practical examinations) in all the subjects required for obtaining the Master's / Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the marks sheet and the certificate of having passed the Master's / Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal / Registrar of their college / Institute. The deadline for submission of marks sheet and the Certificate is December 31, 2019. Eligibility Criteria 

Admission to this Institute is for children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and war widows of the Army only. The children of the following categories of Army personnel are eligible and are required to submit the relevant certificates (as given against the category) as proof of their eligibility for admission to AWES Professional Colleges along with the Application Form: 

Certificate Number 1 is applicable for the following: 

(i) Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years of continuous service in the Army 

(ii) Children of Ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board 

(iii) Children of Ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge or released after ten years of service

Academic Qualification 

The candidate should have passed 10+ 2 examination or its equivalent in any academic stream with English as a compulsory subject. Candidates can also apply provisionally, subject to the condition that they produce the proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission 
National Open Schooling Students (regular) should produce 11th Std. certificate from school (Admission is subject to the approval of Affiliated University). All provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination 10 + 2, or its equivalent is not submitted as required by due date 

Age Limit 

The candidate should not be more than 22 years of age as on 01st July 2018; the date of birth recorded in the matriculation or equivalent exam certificate will be considered as proof 

Physical Fitness 
Candidate should have good general health with satisfactory limits of chest expansion and contraction, normal vision and hearing. In case of defective vision, it must be corrected to 6/9 in both eyes or 6/6 in the better eye 

Selection Procedure 

Merit List - The admission will be strictly on merit ranking based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Written Admission Test (WAT) 

Relative Merit in case of equal marks. In case of candidates securing equal marks, their relative merit will be reassessed inter-se on the basis of securing higher aggregate marks in the qualifying exam, i.e. 10+2 or its equivalent which will be given first preference
