About College:

The National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), has been constituted as a non profit organization with the express objective of engaging in activities for the promotion of training, research, professionalism and skill formation at all levels of the construction and other allied industries. Besides that, NICMAR’s objectives include undertaking special projects, collaboration with other organizations, dissemination of knowledge through seminars / conferences, etc; publishing literature, undertaking consultancy and taking necessary actions conducive to fulfillment of the objectives of the Society. Under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950, NICMAR was registered as a Public Trust in 1982. The NICMAR Society was constituted in 1984 and registered under the Societies’ Registration Act, 1860.

The Board of Trustees, the Board of Governors and the Director General, referred in the Memorandum of Association as the ‘Chief Executive’ of the Society, are responsible for all the decisions and actions related to NICMAR. At the Institute level, there is an Academic Council chaired by Director General which is responsible for all academic decisions. There is also Research Advisory Board and an Academic Advisory Council to provide advisory support in areas referred to these bodies. There is a well developed internal organizational structure with well defined roles and responsibilities for regular administration and management of the Institute.

MODE OF SELECTION: NICMAR Common Admission Test (NCAT) will be conducted online on January 9, 10 and 11, 2021. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview (PI). PI would also be conducted online from 18th January to 24th January, 2021. Candidates can attend online NCAT and PI from their residence.

Selection Process

      Academic Record

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the final stage of the selection process - Individual Assessment Process (Essay Writing and Personal Interview etc.). Individual Assessment Process will be held in February/March 2021 (tentative).

Past academic records, performance in the individual assessment process along with other qualitative parameters, like quality of work experience and extra-curricular activities constitute the core components of the selection process.

The IMI New Delhi Admissions Committee reserves the right to modify these components while communicating these to the applicants at the Individual Assessment stage. The overall objective will be to identify and assess the candidate’s potential for a managerial career.

If selected, their admission will be subject to their producing at least a Provisional marks-sheet/Certificate in original from their college / university latest by 15th December 2020, (extendable in genuine cases after ascertaining the reasons). Date of Birth: General Category candidates should be born on 1.8.1995 or later (maximum 25 years as on 1st August 2020). For SC/ST/Differently abled candidates, the date of birth should be 1.8.1990 or later (maximum 30 years as on 1st August, 2020). For OBC category, date of birth should be 1.8.1992 or later (28 years as on 1st August, 2020).

NRI Quota: Five additional seats are available in each course for NRI / NRI sponsored candidates. The eligibility criteria and age limits for NRI quota candidates are same as above. However, the applicants under NRI / NRI sponsored quota can directly appear for an Online Interview by depositing an entry fee of US $ 50. Fees for NRI quota is as indicated at column 9.1 and the same will have to be paid in one go.

If a candidate wishes to apply for multiple courses, he/she needs to fill only one Application form, indicating all his/her choices, but making separate payment of Application Fee. However, an applicant can apply for maximum of four courses only (any one of the regional language (Odia or Marathi or Urdu or Malayalam), any one of the language journalism course (Hindi or English), Radio and TV journalism, and Advertising & Public Relation course). The candidates are advised to read all the instructions carefully before filling up and submitting their forms. Candidates whose applications have been successfully submitted will receive a Unique Registration Number (URN) which can be quoted for all future admission related correspondence

The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) was established in 1964 for the study of issues and policies relating to public enterprises (PEs).  Shri.S.S Khera, ICS, the then Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, had conceived the idea of a research institution that would undertake a systematic and sustained study of issues relevant to the formulation of policies towards public enterprises. In the early sixties, when PEs were designed as the principal instrument to serve the social and economic objectives of development, Shri. Khera felt that there was need for an institute which would collect relevant information and documents on PEs, study specific issues and undertake consultancy and training exclusively for PEs. Dr.V.V. Ramanadham, the then Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce, Osmania University, translated Shri Khera’s concept into a reality that is IPE, with the active support and guidance provided by the late Dr. D. S Reddy, then Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University as an autonomous, non-profit society at the initiative of the then Cabinet Secretary to the Government of India, Shri S.S.Khera, ICS, and late Dr.D.S.Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University. The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, recognized the Institute as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in social science research in 1976.  The Institute is partly funded by the ICSSR and the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
