About College:

BMS Institute of Technology and Management traces its roots to B.M.S. Educational Trust, the same trust that set up the first private technical institute, BMS College of Engineering. BMSIT&M is governed by BMS educational trust founded by Sri B M Sreenivasaiah and his illustrious son, Sri B S Narayan.

The history of BMS institutions rewinds back to the year 1946 with the establishment of the first private engineering college in the country, BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), by late Sri B.M Sreenivasaiah. He was a philanthropist and a great visionary who realised the necessity of technical education even before the country got independence. He was honoured by the Maharaja of Mysore with the title “Dharma Prakasha Raja Karya Prasaktha” for his extraordinary service in the field of education. The legacy he once began is being upheld with the same zeal by his inheritors and they continue to cherish his vision and ideals.

After the sad demise of Sri B.M Sreenivasaiah, his renowned son, Sri B.S Narayan, a vibrant and ingenious personality, moulded BMS College of Engineering into one of the finest engineering colleges. Apart from BMS College of Engineering, he had also established other institutions that promoted higher education which includes BMS College of Law, BMS College of Women and BMS Evening College of Engineering. He was extremely supportive in the initiation of several collaborative programs such as training foreign students under International Co-operative Division, cross cultural program with Melton Foundation U.S.A etc.

Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) [Accredited by NBA, New Delhi]

Eligibility:

Candidates who have passed Bachelor Degree examination with not less than 50% of the marks in all the years of the degree examination can seek admission to Master of Computer Applications. In case of Scheduled castes/ Scheduled Tribes the marks shall not be less than 45%. The candidates with not less than 50% of marks with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer science or Computer Programming or Computer Applications or Business Statistics as optional or electives. However in case of Scheduled castes/ Scheduled Tribes the marks shall not be less than 45%.

The students who has studied and passed one of the specified subject in the pre-University course with 50% of the marks in that subject shall also considered for admission. However in case of Scheduled castes/ Scheduled Tribes the marks shall not be less than 45% for admission.

There shall be an entrance examination for MCA Course. A Candidate seeking admission in engineering colleges bangalore affiliated to VTU shall have to take this examination. The admission committee shall hold the concerned examination and shall also conduct the interview of the candidates. For Govt. Seats in colleges and for VTU course, PGCET will conduct the entrance exam.

(C) Minimum Marks Required to Apply:

Consistently good academic record with 60% marks (or CGPA = 6.5/10) in undergraduate and post graduate degree examinations.

Conditions applicable only for Medical Sciences stream: MBBS degree from any university recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI). Candidates should have completed one year compulsory rotating internship or its equivalent as recognized by MCI after passing the final year MBBS examination. Candidates should have full registration with a State Medical Council. Candidates with Post Graduate Medical qualifications can also apply but no special reservation or preference will be given. Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is India’s first Public Health University. The Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is working towards building a healthier India. It is well known that the Cooperative Movement envisaged to provide answers to the problems of rural credit in India, owes its origin to the sponsorship of Government. Beginning with Sir Fredrick Nicholson's Report in 1885 on the issue of training to the Cooperative leadership entrusted with the duty of building up the Cooperative Movement, has always been emphasized. But, it was not until 1945 that the Saraiya Committee on Cooperative Planning recommended the establishment of a Cooperative Training College at the State level and Central level. The Cooperative Training College was established in 1947 when late Shri Vaikunth Mehta was the Minister for Finance, Cooperation and Village Industries with a view to bringing concepts of management training to the service of the Cooperatives.

Eligibility

About College:

Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is an advanced research institute established and fully funded by the Reserve Bank of India for carrying out research on development issues from a multi-disciplinary point of view. IGIDR was registered as an autonomous society on November 14, 1986 and as a public trust in January 1987. On December 28, 1987 the campus was inaugurated by Late. Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India. Subsequently, the Institute was recognized as a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act.

Starting as a purely research institution, it rapidly developed into a full-fledged teaching cum research organisation when it launched a Ph.D. program in the field of development studies in 1990. The objective of the Ph.D. programme is to produce researchers with diverse disciplinary backgrounds who can address issues of economics, energy and environment policies. In 1995, the institute initiated the M. Phil programme. The M.Sc. programme commenced in 2003 to introduce students to the world of research at an earlier stage. At present the Institute has about 150 employees and students that include about 26 full time faculty members, 24 non-academic staff and about 90 M.Sc./M.Phil/Ph.D students.

Doctor Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya Sagar (A Central University), formerly University of Saugor, was established on 18th July 1946 by Dr. Sir Hari Singh Gour (Nov. 26, 1870 – Dec. 25, 1949). by his lifetime saving. Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehra Dun made a humble beginning as Forest School established in 1878. Initially named as Imperial Forest Research Institute, FRI came into being in 1906.  Later renamed as Forest Research Institute and Colleges, with a number of centres located at different places all over the country administering research as well as training of Forest Officers and Forest Rangers.  After reorganization of Forestry Research in the country and creation of Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) in 1988, the training and research centres were given an independent status of institutes.
