The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MOP&NG), Government of India set up The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) at Jais, Dist. A. Applicants with Master's degree in engineering in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master's degree level.

 

B. Applicants with Bachelor's degree in engineering in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline must have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor's degree level. Applicant with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on 10 point scale) at Bachelor degree provided the degree is from an Institution funded by the Central Government.

 

C. Applicants with Master's degree in science as an allied discipline/area (where science is an allied discipline), must satisfy each of the following criteria:

 

i. A minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master's degree level

 

ii. A minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor's degree level

Applicant with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on 10 point scale) at Bachelor degree provide the degree is from an Institution funded by the Central Government.

 

Ph D in Management Studies

Financial Assistance

 

Financial assistance in the form of Institute Assistantships is available to the students admitted to Ph D programmes under Full Time regular registration category. Such students must have qualified GATE.

 

Presently the Assistantships @ Rs. 31,000/- per month is available to full time students admitted to the PhD programmes.

 

The NET-LS qualified students may be eligible for Institute assistantship in Humanities and Management provided they have CPI of 7.0 or 70% marks in the qualifying examination. The assistantship is subjected to its availability.

 

A student shall be assigned duties up to eight hours per week by the Departments to avail the Teaching Assistantship. The renewal of assistantship is contingent on the student's satisfactory performance in the academic programme and in the discharge of assistantship duties on a semester to semester basis.

 

For the Odd Semester of Session 2020-21, the Institute Assistantship available in each department are as given in Table 2D of Annexure II.

 

No student shall be admitted to Full time Regular Registration Category without Institute Assistantship or National-level Scholarships/Fellowships. No student can get financial assistance from more than one source at a time.

Eligibility:

·         A candidate must hold a minimum 50% in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwD) in Class 10th.

·         A candidate must hold a minimum 50% in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwD) in Class 12th.

·         Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree recognized by the AICTE/UGC/ Institute/ University incorporated by Act of Parliament/State legislature, university declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD).

·         Candidates meeting the above eligibility criteria and have a valid score of any of these examinations: Common Admission Test (CAT-2019) conducted by IIMs/ Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT-2020)/ CMAT-2020 (conducted by AICTE)/ GMAT 2019/2020 are eligible to apply.

·         Candidate appearing for final year examination of programme are also eligible to apply based on the following conditions:

a.  Such candidate must produce a certificate from the authority of the university/ institution certifying that:

(i) The candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks (i.e. all the years’ grade/marks except the final year grade/marks), and

For candidates WITHOUT GATE score (essentially the sponsored candidates), for academic year 2019-20, selection will be through a written exam and/or interview. Decision to conduct this written exam to be made depending on the number of GATE applicants in the program.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and interview. Final selection will be made based on the performance in written test/interview, GATE score and previous academic performances taken together.

In order to sustain the steady growth in civil aviation sector in India observed over the past decade, the market shall require a strong pipeline of professionally qualified workforce. Recognizing this need, Ministry of Civil Aviation proposed the establishment of a national aviation university which shall promote and facilitate aviation studies and research to produce quality human resources to cater to the needs of the aviation industry. The Cabinet approved the proposal to set up “Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University” under the administrative control of MoCA as a central university under an act of parliament. About 26.35 acres of land available with IGRUA was identified for setting of NAU in its first phase of establishment (2013-2019). After approval by EFC (Expenditure Finance Committee) and the Cabinet, a bill was introduced in the Parliament and finally the Act came into force on 19th September 2013.

Essential Qualification: Any Bachelor degree with 55% aggregate marks. 50% for SC/ST candidates, Student awaiting results can also be considered, subject to condition that they have appeared or will be appearing for final examination in 2019 and will be able to submit the marks Sheet latest by 31st July 2019.

Upper Age Limit: 25 years as on 31st July 2019 for all categories.

Selection Criteria:

An OMR based entrance examination will be conducted at specified centres on All India basis. The selection of the candidates will be based on the marks scored in the entrance exam. A minimum of 40 percentile would be the cut-off criteria for the candidates to be considered for next level of screening i.e. Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview, as decided by the University. However, the decision of the University in this regard shall be final and binding on all.

How to Apply:

The on-line application can be filled up and submitted by accessing the RGNAU website with effect from 15th April, 2019. The application fee is Rs. 1500/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 750/- for SC/ST/PWD categories. The fee is non-refundable; bank or payment gateway service charges must be borne by the applicant.
