Eligibility:

Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program shall have a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). A relaxation of 5% marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging SC/ST/OBC.

PATTERN OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The Entrance Examination will comprise of an objective type test of 100 questions with two parts:

·         Part-I Research methodology: 50 marks

·         Part-II Subject Related: 50 marks.

The questions will be of multiple choice type (four options with single correct answer) to be answered on the specially designed Answer sheet using Black ink Ball Point Pen only. Each correct answer shall be awarded ONE mark.

Note: There is no penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answer marked by the candidate.

The duration of the examination would be 120 minutes (2 hours)

Spectacles are allowed, if being used regularly (cap and goggles are not allowed). Polaroid & computer generated photos are not acceptable. Application not complying with these instructions or without clear photograph is liable to be rejected. Scanned images should be in JPG/JPEG format only, of size between 100 to 200kb for photograph (for uploading as part of submission of online application).

(a) Signature: It should be clear and in running handwriting, preferably with a black sketch pen. Writing full name in capital letters, will not be accepted as signature and application form would be liable for rejection. ·         Please note down your Registration Number, (which would be generated online) for any future communications.

·         An applicant may choose to save the application and continue later by using the link Save and Continue Later given at the bottom of the Application form. The Applicant has to specify his/her email id, where the form’s link will be sent and the applicant later on by clicking on the link may continue to complete the earlier saved form. The link will remain active till the last date of online application submission.

Announcement of Online Common Entrance Test for Admissions to the August 2020 Batch of MBA Programmes

Admission to the MBA Programmes of the IMU for the Academic Year 2020-21, starting on Monday, 03rdAugust 2020, will be through all-India Online Common Entrance Tests (CET) which will be conducted on Saturday, 04th Jan 2020 between 11 am and 2 pm.

Candidates will be required to qualify this CET in order to be eligible for admissions to these Programmes.

This CET will be held for the following Programmes only:

·         MBA (International Transportation and Logistics Management) 2-Year [Campus: Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Cochin]

·         MBA (Port and Shipping Management) 2-Year  [Campus: Chennai, Cochin]

N.B - The results of the CETs are valid for that particular Academic session only.

Registration Fee is Rs.1000 for General/OBC-NCL candidates and Rs.700 for SC/ST Candidates.

The Syllabus for this CET will be as follows:

i.              No. of Questions – 120 multiple choice questions.

ii.             Syllabus - Quantitative ability, Data interpretation, Verbal ability and Logical reasoning.

There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. IMU reserves the right to change the distribution, types, level of difficulty, etc. of the questions asked from time to time.

The Applicants can give 3 preferences for the cities where they wish to take the CET while registering online. While every effort will be made to accommodate an Applicant within 3 preferred cities, IMU reserves the right to divert Applicants to the nearest cities if sufficient number of candidates are not forthcoming in certain cities or if there are too many candidates for a particular city.

Eligibility for IMU CET 2020:

MBA (International Transportation Logistics Management) Chennai, Cochin, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam:

A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from Recognized Universities. A minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th or UG Degree.

Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however it will not apply to English marks.

How to Apply IMU CET 2020:

Online Registration of Applicants with facility to upload photograph, scanned signature, scanned copy of the 10th Std. Mark sheet as proof of Date of Birth, scanned copy of 12th Std./ Degree Certificate (wherever applicable), scanned copy of the SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/General-EWS certificate (wherever applicable) and other relevant certificates (wherever applicable). The candidates will be able to make payment for the Registration Fees Online, and download and print the filled in application in standard formats. For Online Registration, applicants should visit the website of the Indian Maritime University and click on the MBA-CET January 2020 hyperlink.

Very Important Note:

·         As majority of the Candidates applying for this programme would be currently pursuing their Under Graduate Programme, they will have to update their status under Academic Details as “Results Awaiting”. However, there will be a provision to fill in the aggregate marks obtained till end of 2nd year (in case Candidate is currently pursuing a 3-year Under Graduate Programme) or till end of 3rd Year (in case Candidate is currently pursuing a 4-year Under Graduate Programme)

·         During Certificate Verification which is scheduled to be held between 03rd and 05th March 2020, the Candidates have to produce the Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Statement of Marks during Certificate Verification. For Candidates who had updated their Academic Details as “Result awaiting”, they will have to produce a letter from the Principal/University Authority that their results will be declared on or before 30.08.2020 and that the Candidate has no arrears till Last Semester.

·         The Candidate will have to give an undertaking on the day of Certificate Verification, that in the event of non-clearing of subjects and non-producing of the Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Statement of Marks by 30.08.2020, they will forgo the seat as well as fees (Counselling fees of Rs.10,000/, Programme Fees of Rs.25,000/- and Semester Fees) paid by them.

·         The Candidate will be required to submit the Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Statement of Marks on or before 30.08.2020, failing which the admission will stand cancelled and the Candidate will forgo the seat as well as fees (Counselling fees of Rs.10,000/, Programme Fees of Rs.25,000/- and Semester Fees) paid by them.

How to Apply:

ADMISSION:

Admission to the Diploma Program is made twice a year, in January and July. Prospectus cum Admission form can be downloaded from the website www.istd.co.in. You can ‑ll the admission form and send to the ISTD National O­ce, Delhi along with application processing fee & course fee as DD in favor of “ISTD Diploma Program” payable at New Delhi (or) through NEFT (or) Payment Gateway. ·         Candidates with more than 2 years of relevant work experience may be exempted from requirement (2) above depending on the discretion of the selection committee.

Selection Process:

The candidates will be shortlisted based on CAT/GMAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT or TERI SAS entrance exam scores (Candidates with more than 2 years of relevant work experience may be exempted from this requirement), depending on the discretion of the selection committee. Selection from shorlisted candidates will be on the basis of group discussions and interviews conducted by the University at New Delhi.

Sponsored Candidates: Candidates working in the industry/ government/ regulatory bodies/ research/ academic institutions/ donor/ consultant organizations are encouraged to apply for the full-time M.B.A. All those who satisfy the minimum qualifications may be admitted to the progamme on the basis of an interview. These candidates are required to submit, at the time of interview, a sponsorship certificate from their employer on a proper letterhead, stating that for the period of his/her study at the University, the candidate will be treated as on duty with usual salary and allowances and that he/she will be fully relieved for the period of study for pursuing his/her studies. 5.    You will be required to upload a recent scanned/ digital passport size photograph of yourself (with White background) during the application process.

7.    False information or photographs will result in immediate disqualification from the examination process.

8.    The registration number and other related details will be sent to your registered email id after submission of the registration form.

9.    There are TWO options available for making the payment after submission of the online registration form.

·         To pay online, you can choose ONLINE PAYMENT MODE. The payment can be done via Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card through online secured payment gateway. Please make sure that you tender the correct card details of the Debit / Credit card holder while paying through online payment gateway.

·         The other mode of payment is via a DEMAND DRAFT, which needs to be drawn in favor of "Registrar, TERI School of advanced Studies", payable at New Delhi. You will get a provisional registration number if you choose to pay by a demand draft.

The Demand Draft should be sent by registered or speed post / courier with a cover letter mentioning your provisional registration number at below address.

Please note the last date of receiving the demand draft is 14th Dec, 2019. Demand drafts received after 14th Dec, 2019 will not be accepted and hence all such registrations will stand cancelled.
