About College:

The Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing is a pioneer institute for nursing education in India and South East Asian region offering basic and higher education programmes. It is controlled financially by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and academically affiliated to University of Delhi as Department of Nursing under faculty of science. The primary objective of the College is to provide and promote education and research in the field of nursing. The College was established in 1946 and initially B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing programme was formulated to train young women as professional nurses for meeting the health needs of the country. In 1959, the University approved the initiation of two years Master of Nursing programme, M.Phil, in Nursing was star ted in 1986 as a foundation course for undertaking doctoral work and in the year 1992, Doctoral programme in nursing was started under Department of Nursing, University of Delhi.

Eligibility:

Applications are invited for admission to Master of Nursing Course 2 years Commencing form 20th July, 2019.

The candidate must have passed the B.Sc. (H) Nursing Examination (12+4) years of the University of Delhi or a degree recognized as equivalent there to with atleast 55% marks in the aggregate and completed one year experience in Nursing in a hospital/Specialty Institute/educational institution or public health agency. The experience will be calculated up to the 22nd March, 2019 the basis of selection for admission is given in the prospectus. Selection test will be held on 28th April, 2019 (Sunday) at 10.00 a.m.

Names of the selected candidates will be put on the college notice board and website on the dates as declared in the prospectus. No Correspondence/Telephonic information in this connection will be entertained.

Prescribed application forms with prospectus for the Session 2019-20 can be downloaded from College website from 19th February, 2019 to 22nd March, 2019 and should be submitted (by hand or by post) in the college till 22nd March, 2019 by 5:00 pm. On payment of Rs.550/- by Demand Draft in favour of Principal, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing payable at lajpat nagar, New Delhi, in case of non-payment of demand draft along with the downloaded application form, the application form will be summarily rejected and no request will be entertained in this regard. Application form of previous years will be not be entertained.

Course Name:

Master of Public Health (MPH) [Offered by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA & IIHMR University (Cooperative Programme)]

Eligibility:

Interested individuals from India or surrounding low- and middle-income countries must have:

·         A Bachelor degree.

·         A minimum of 2 years of full-time health- related experience beyond the Bachelor’s/Master’s degree. (Work experience is waived for Ph.D.  and M.B.B.S graduates.)

·         Prior college-level mathematics courses; prior college-level biology course plus another health-related course.

·         Demonstrated English proficiency through prior degree, TOEFL or IELTS.

·         Demonstrated quantitative and verbal skills through GRE, MCAT, LSAT, or GMAT. (Applicants with degrees beyond the Bachelor’s may request a waiver of standardized test scores if they are other sources of quantitative abilities.)

How to Apply:

Applicants seeking admission to the MPH program must go through a prescreening process, and need to be pre-approved by IIHMR before they apply.  Applicants who wish to apply for the MPH program should follow the steps given below:

STEP 1: Candidate should download a pre-screening questionnaire from the website and send the completely filled pre-screening questionnaire along with updated CV/resume for pre-approval to mphadmissions@iihmr.edu.in by May 31, 2019.

STEP 2: A confirmation mail will be sent to each candidate after receipt of the materials in STEP 1.  Then a  pre-approval email for the application will be sent to the candidate by IIHMR University, followed by another email from JHSPH with an invitation to complete the online MPH application through SOPHAS (Schools of Public Health Application System)http://sophas.org/program-finder/ In order to be considered for admission, the candidate has to submit the completed application (fully submitted application along with the application fee of US $ 135) by JULY 01, 2019.

Application requirements at SOPHAS:

In order for your application to be reviewed, you must submit the following:

·         Curriculum Vitae/Resume (*To be uploaded with application).

·         2 Page Personal Statement (*To be uploaded with application).

Doctor Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya Sagar (A Central University), formerly University of Saugor, was established on 18th July 1946 by Dr. Sir Hari Singh Gour (Nov. 26, 1870 – Dec. 25, 1949). by his lifetime saving. Eligibility:

Candidates for admission to the Ph D. programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s or MPhil degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (noncreamy layer)/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per UGC Guidelines from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark.

Admission Process

The admission process will include three steps: screening of applications, IIHMR Research Aptitude Test (IRAT) and personal interview.

IIHMR Research Aptitude Test (IRAT)

The IIHMR University will conduct a qualifying test after screening of applications and short-listing candidates. IRAT will be a written test consisting of multiple choice questions from English language proficiency, reasoning, basic quantitative analysis and research aptitude. Admission to the Research Degree program shall be subject to the fulfilment of the minimum cut-off marks as prescribed from time to time by UGC. Final selection for admission shall be made on the basis of the merit of the composite score.

Exemption from IRAT: The following categories will be exempted from the written IRAT: UGC CSIR qualified JRF & NET, SLET, GATE and Teacher Research Fellowship holder and have passed M Phil programme in relevant subjects.

Personal Interview

Personal interview will be conducted on the day of IRAT or next day after IRAT at the IIHMR University, Jaipur. All categories of candidates will be required to appear in the Personal Interview. at the time of interview the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation.

About College:

The Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi is a Government of India institution and only of its nature in eastern India. The British established this hospital on 17th May 1918 with the name of Ranchi European Lunatic Asylum. It had then a capacity of 174 patients (92 male and 82 female). It catered to the needs of the European mental patients only and it was under the direct control and management of Government of Bihar. In 1922, it was put under the control of a Board of Trustees with various participating state governments represented in the Board and in the very same year its name was changed to European Mental Hospital. The year 1922 is also notable for the fact that the Institute was affiliated to the University of London for the Diploma in Psychological Medicine examination. It was a unique phenomenon since the postgraduate training in Psychiatry was nonexistent in India in those days.It may be worth noting that this Institute has been the most premier centre for mental health in the country and it has many firsts to its credit. For example, to mention only a few, the first Occupational Therapy Department in 1922, ECT in 1943, psychosurgery and neurosurgery in 1947, clinical psychology and Electroencephalography (EEG) departments in 1948, a full fledged neuropathology section in 1952, the first use of Lithium in 1952 and chlorpromazine in 1953.
