About College:

AMAR JYOTI CHARITABLE TRUST Amar Jyoti is a voluntary organization rendering rehabilitative services to persons with disabilities through integrated education, medical care, vocational training, child guidance and self-employment since 1981.  It has a branch rendering similar services for the last 25 years in Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh). With the pioneering concept of integration and inclusion, Amar Jyoti is running a school in Delhi and Gwalior where over 500 and 300 children, respectively, with and without disability are studying together in equal number. 

In addition to OPD patients medical care and rehabilitative services are provided free of cost to all school children, economically weaker sections of the society and members of the Amar Jyoti staff. The institution has organized 5 National Integrated Sports Meet. Amar Jyoti also introduced Abilympics – Olympics of abilities for persons with disabilities in India.  As a nodal agency of National Abilympic, Association of India it co-ordinates the Regional, National and International Abilympics. India hosted the 6th International Abilympics in 2003. Amar Jyoti is running a community based rehabilitation project in 10 urban slums of East Delhi where all necessary services for rehabilitation are provided. 

The Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy (affiliated to University of Delhi) conducts a 4 ½  year Bachelor of Physiotherapy program (Inclusive of six month Internship).The curriculum has been developed keeping in mind an ever increasing knowledge base that is anchored in scientific evidence . Teaching at the Institute is problem-based and our highly qualified and clinically oriented faculty uses a variety of contemporary pedagogic strategies that include a judicious mix of didactic and laboratory based instructional technique.

Eligibility:

MPT [Specialization in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Neurological Physiotherapy] 2 years: General/ Reserved Category (SC/ ST/ OH). 

Candidates should have fulfilled at least ONE of the following conditions: 

a. Successful completion of an undergraduate physiotherapy degree (B.Sc. (PT) / BPT) from a recognized college/institute/university within India of not less than 4½ years duration (including 6 months of internship) with 50% of aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/OH) in university exams. Candidates who have completed 3 ½ years course and an additional bridge course of 1 year will be considered equivalent to 4 ½ years course. 

b. An undergraduate physiotherapy qualification (B.Sc. (PT) / BPT etc.) of 3 ½ years duration from a recognized college/ institute/ university plus at least 10 years of work experience.

Note:

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab. After independence, development of the rural sector was considered the primary concern of the Government of India. In 1949, with the appointment of the Radhakrishnan University Education Commission, imparting of agricultural education through the setting up of rural universities became the focal point. Later, in 1954 an Indo-American team led by Dr. K.R. Damle, the Vice-President of ICAR, was constituted that arrived at the idea of establishing a ‘Rural University’ on the land-grant pattern of USA. As a consequence a contract between the Government of India, the Technical Cooperation Mission and some land-grant universities ofUSA, was signed to promote agricultural education in the country. The US universities included the universities of Tennessee, the Ohio State University, theKansas State University, The University of Illinois, the Pennsylvania State University and the University of Missouri. The task of assisting Uttar Pradesh in establishing an agricultural university was assigned to the University of Illinois which signed a contract in 1959 to establish an agricultural University in the State. Dean, H.W. Hannah, of the University of Illinois prepared a blueprint for a Rural University to be set up at the Tarai State Farm in the district Nainital, UP. In the initial stage the University of Illinois also offered the services of its scientists and teachers. Thus, in 1960, the first agricultural university of India, UP AgriculturalUniversity, came into being by an Act of legislation, UP Act XI-V of 1958. The Act was later amended under UP Universities Re-enactment and Amendment Act 1972 and the University was rechristened as Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology keeping in view the contributions of Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant, the then Chief Minister of UP. The University was dedicated to the Nation by the first Prime Minister of India Pt Jawaharlal Nehru on 17 November 1960.

The G.B. Pant University is a symbol of successful partnership between India and the United States. The establishment of this university brought about a revolution in agricultural education, research and extension. It paved the way for setting up of 31 other agricultural universities in the country.

Such Degrees / Diploma, etc., shall be deemed to be included in the schedules to the respective Acts governing Medical Council of India, Indian Nursing Council and Dental Council of India, entitling  the  holders  to  the  same  privileges  as  those  attached  to  the  equivalent  awards  from  the recognized Universities of India.

JIPMER imparts Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and Super speciality Medical Training through a working hospital (JIPMER Hospital) with a bed strength of 1500 and a Nursing College.  M.B.B.S., B.Sc. M.Sc., M.D., M.S., Degree Courses are offered in 32 various disciplines. Super speciality departments of Cardiology,  Neurology,  Cardiothoracic  Surgery,  Neurosurgery,  Urology&  Neonatology,  Clinical Immunology,  Clinical  Pharmacology,  Clinical  Haematology  and  Surgical  Gastroenterology  also  offer D.M./M.Ch. Courses.  Fellowship courses are available in four disciplines.   Full-time Ph.D. Programmes are available in six disciplines.

The Applicant should be an Indian National (not applicable to nominated candidates) 

He/she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2018, the year of his/her admission to the B.Sc. courses i.e. they should have born or before 01st January 2002 

The applicants should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below: 

a) The Higher/Senior Secondary Exam or the Indian School Certificate Exam, which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Exam after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany and Zoology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research & Training after introduction of 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education or Higher Secondary Exam (+2) Vocational Stream with Medical Laboratory Assistant or any equivalent exam 

b) The applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany & Zoology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany & Zoology at the qualifying exam and competitive entrance exam

For candidates belonging to the SC/ST or OBC/OPH the marks obtained in the Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany & Zoology taken together in the qualifying exam and competitive entrance exam is 40% 

c) An Eligibility Certificate is required in the case of foreign nationals nominated by the Central Govt. for admission to B.Sc. (MLT) Course 

d) Candidates who are studying/have studied Medical Laboratory Assistant in the Vocational Stream will not be considered for B.Sc. (Nursing) Course 

e) The Candidates, who have passed qualifying exam other than those mentioned in the list will have to submit an eligibility certificate to JIPMER before admission is finalized for B.Sc. Courses

Entrance Exam Pattern

Entrance Examination will be conducted through a Computer Based Test (CBT) [Online] only. 

The exam shall be conducted in English medium only. The questions for B.Sc. Courses Entrance Exam 2018 will be based on the syllabus as prescribed by State Board HSC and CBSE for XI & XII Standards 

The Entrance Exam is common to all and consists of 100 single best response type MCQs having four alternatives and the questions will be asked from the following subjects and the distribution of no. of question is as detailed below: 

The Entrance Exam will be of multiple-choice type questions totaling 100 in the subjects of Physics (20 Marks), Chemistry (20 Marks), Biology (40 Marks), Logic and Quantitative Reasoning (10 marks) & English and Comprehension (10 Marks) for both the main and Vocational Stream students 

Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark. Zero mark will be given for the question not answered; there is no negative marking 

The duration of the test is one and half-hours 

Questions that are answered and "Marked for Review" will be considered as Answered 

All questions will be of one best/correct response type having four alternatives; the response of the candidate for a questions on click of submit button before closing of Exam shall be considered as the response chosen by the candidate 

Selection Procedure 

The Candidates will be selected based on the performance in the entrance exam which is scheduled on Sunday, 24th June 2018
