The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Berhampur, established in 2016 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India is a Center of Excellence dedicated to teaching and research in basic sciences. Eligibility:

Candidates who have passed (in 2018 or 2019) and are placed in the top 20 percentile of their class XII board/equivalent examination in science streams are eligible for admission through one or more of the following channels:

·         Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY): Students with a valid KVPY fellowship commencing 2019-20 academic session.

·         IT-JEE (Advanced): Students securing an IIT JEE (Advanced) 2019 rank upto 10000.

·         State and Central Boards (SCB): Students with marks equal to or above the cut-off marks in class XII board exam, as specified on www.iiseradmission.in/eligibility. Students applying through SCB channel will have to qualify the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). IAT 2019 will be computer based and will be tentatively conducted during June 2019. A mock test is available on the IISER admission website.

Scholarships

·         Students admitted through the KVPY channel will be eligible for scholarships as per KVPY norms.

·         Students admitted through IIT-JEE (Advanced) and SCB channels will be eligible for a limited number of INSPIRE fellowships as per the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, norms.

The Tata Memorial Hospital was initially commissioned by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust on 28 February 1941 as a center with enduring value and a mission for concern for the Indian people. In 1952 the Indian Cancer Research Centre was established as a pioneer research institute for basic research - later called the Cancer Research Institute (CRI). In 1957 the Ministry of Health took over the Tata Memorial Hospital. Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Jaipur (formerly known as Indian Institute of Health Management Research), was founded in 1984. In the three decades, the Institute has created a niche in high quality research, education and training in Health Management and Hospital Management. It has made phenomenal contribution in health systems and services research, especially in policy and program management and evaluation. The Institute has attained a pride position in health management, planning and research at the national and international levels. The role of the Institute is being increasingly realized and appreciated in developing health management as an important discipline for improving the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of health care; and setting a research agenda. It is a WHO Collaborating Centre for District Health Systems based on primary health care.

Course Name:

Ph.D in Hospital, Health, Pharmaceutical Management Development Studies and related areas

Eligibility:

Candidates for admission to the Ph D. programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s or MPhil degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (noncreamy layer)/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per UGC Guidelines from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark.

Admission Process

The admission process will include three steps: screening of applications, IIHMR Research Aptitude Test (IRAT) and personal interview.

IIHMR Research Aptitude Test (IRAT)

The IIHMR University will conduct a qualifying test after screening of applications and short-listing candidates. IRAT will be a written test consisting of multiple choice questions from English language proficiency, reasoning, basic quantitative analysis and research aptitude. Admission to the Research Degree program shall be subject to the fulfilment of the minimum cut-off marks as prescribed from time to time by UGC. Final selection for admission shall be made on the basis of the merit of the composite score.

Exemption from IRAT: The following categories will be exempted from the written IRAT: UGC CSIR qualified JRF & NET, SLET, GATE and Teacher Research Fellowship holder and have passed M Phil programme in relevant subjects.

Personal Interview

Personal interview will be conducted on the day of IRAT or next day after IRAT at the IIHMR University, Jaipur. All categories of candidates will be required to appear in the Personal Interview. at the time of interview the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation.
