About College:

The Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR), Bhubaneswar is a permanent research centre of Indian Council of Medical Research. The foundation stone of the centre was laid by the then prime minister of India Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi on 29th March 1981.Initially the Center started in a small rental accommodation in 1982 and shifted to the Centre’s own building in year 1990 after completion. The campus of RMRC is located in 20 acres of picturesque landscape in Chandrasekharpur and has its own laboratory –cum- administrative building, animal house, auditorium, guest house & research scholars’ hostel and staff quarters. The concept of Regional Medical Research Centre was evolved during 6th five year plan period in 1980. Under this scheme six RMRCs were set up in different parts of the country. The thrust areas of research and linkages for RMRC, Bhubaneswar have been outlined in the project committee report of ICMR in 1981 under the chairmanship of Prof V Ramalingaswamy and subsequently in the high powered committee report of 1995. For the past 3 decades, the institute has continued to remain as a national and international focus for collaboration in research where clinical, population, laboratory and social sciences are integrated to address the broad issues of health. The strength of these disciplines, combined in a single institution and tightly linked by a common mission, creates a unique multidisciplinary environment for capacity building and research.

Course Name:

Master of Public Health (MPH)

Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility:

·         Bachelor degree holders of any institute/University recognised by the UGC having secured at least 50% of marks for General & 45% marks for SC/ST Candidates in the relevant subject, such as Medicine, AYUSH, Dental, Allied Medical & Health Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Nursing, Epidemiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Life Sciences, Population Science/ Studies, Statistics, Biostatistics, Demography, Social Sciences, Social Work, Public Health Engineering, Physician Assistant, Nutrition, Home Science, Community Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Management, Law and Economics.

·         Students appearing in the final degree examination can make a provisional application pending publication of results subject to meeting minimum eligibility requirements at the time of interview. Admission to the course is based on the combined result of written test and interview.

Required documents:

·         Proof of date of birth.

·         Attested copies of all certificates and mark sheets starting from Matriculation.

·         Caste certificate/ Certificate claiming reservation (if any) from the competent authority.

Selection Procedure

·         A selection committee constituted by Director, ICMR-RMRC, Bhubaneswar will select the candidate based on following:

a) Review of application form

b) Written test

c) Personal Interview

·         Relevant work experience in Public health related activities will be an advantage.

·         Reservation/Relaxation will be followed as per norms being followed by Govt. of Odisha/ University.

·         Mere possession of eligibility criteria will not entail selection for course. The decision of Director, RMRC, Bhubaneswar regarding selection of candidates & number of seat, within rule shall be final.

·         The candidate will be informed by Letter/E-mail regarding date of written test, interview, venue etc.

Entrance Test

·         All eligible candidates will have to appear an entrance test to be held at RMRC, Bhubaneswar. All the questions are of MCQ type and compulsory. Each question carries 2 marks. One mark will be deducted per wrong answer.

·         The questions for entrance examination will cover General Public Health Awareness, Numerical ability, General English including Grammar/ Common errors and Scientific awareness up to +2 levels.

Rs. 50, 000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) per annum.

Eligibility:

A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

1.    **Medical qualification: MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/DM/M.Ch in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board (DNB) of Examination will be considered eligible for the admission.

B.Sc. Nursing

Duration: 4 Years

Eligibility:

1.    (i) Female Children of Bonafide Himachali/Domicile/Himachal Govt. employees and employees of Autonomous bodies wholly or partially financed by the Himachal Pradesh Government will only be eligible to apply for admission to 4 years B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course through Entrance Test to be conducted by H.P. University, Shimla in Sister Nivedita Govt. College of Nursing, IGMC, Shimla and Private unaided B.Sc. Nursing Colleges/Institutions situated in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

(ii) For filling up of 50% Management Quota Seats in Private un-aided B.Sc. Nursing Colleges in State of Himachal Pradesh, there will be no domicile requirement. Under this quota, both Himachali and Non-Himachali interested candidates can compete in the entrance test subject to fulfillment of minimum educational qualification and age etc. as prescribed in the prospectus.

Note: The above candidates should be Indian National.

2.    The age of the candidates should be between 17 to 35 years as on 31st December, 2019 i.e. the candidate should be born between 01.01.1985 and 1.1.2003. However, upper age can be relaxable by 5 years in the case of SC/ST candidates i.e. the candidate must born between 1.1.1980 and 1.1.2003. Age as recorded in the matriculation certificate will be entertained.

3.    Admission to married candidates will be allowed subject to production of medical fitness certificate.

4.    A candidate should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from H.P. Board of School Education/AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or any other Board/University established by law in India in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually with 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination will be 40% instead of 45% as stated above. 1.    Admission to Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree course shall be made on the basis of merit of the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Himachal Pradesh University Shimla for which the female candidates only are eligible subject to fulfillment of the following conditions :-

a)    The candidates should be registered as registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM) with H.P. State Nurses Registration Council, Shimla at the time of counseling. However, the Himachali Bonafide Candidates who completed their GNM Diploma outside the State and registered themselves in the concerned State Registration Nursing Council shall be registered with the HPNRC, Shimla within 3 months from the date of admission. Provided further that the candidates belonging to another states of the country should be registered in their respective State Nurses Registration Council and at the time of Counseling, they must produced NOC for pursuing their higher studies outside the state from the Registrar of the concerned State Registration Council.

b)    The candidate must have passed 10+2 and its equivalent examination from recognized Board/University established by Law in India with minimum 40% aggregate marks. For SC/ST/OBC candidates the required percentage of aggregate marks will be 35%.

c)    The candidate must have obtained 50% marks in General Nursing & Midwifery from the School/Institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council/Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council.

d)    The distribution of seats between In-Service and Direct candidates in respect of Sister Nivedita Government Nursing College, IGMC, Shimla will be made in the ratio of 70:30. However, 200 point vertical reservation roster will be applied afresh for distribution of seats among General, SC, ST and OBC categories and no horizontal reservation roster will be applied.

The Admission Brochure, along with the application form, is available on all days of the week (Monday to Sunday from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm) and can be obtained through:

1. Cash payment: The Admission Brochure consisting of an application form can be obtained from the Admission Cell of the University

on payment of Rs. 1000/- in cash.

2. Speed post/courier: The Admission Brochure, along with the application form, can also be obtained through speed post/courier. A request in this regard should be sent to the Director – Admissions , Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Delhi Road, Moradabad (U.P.) – 244 001, along with a demand draft/pay order of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) drawn in favor of the ‘Teerthanker Mahaveer University’, payable at Moradabad. The name, address and phone number of the applicant should be clearly mentioned on the backside of the demand draft/pay order.

3. Downloading from University Website: The application form can be downloaded from the University Website (www.tmu.ac.in) and the duly filled-up form can be forwarded to Director – Admissions, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Delhi Road, Moradabad. (U.P.) – 244 001 along with a demand draft of Rs. 1000/- favoring ‘Teerthanker Mahaveer University’, payable at Moradabad.
