The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge society through inclusive education. It has tried to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) by offering high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.

The University began by offering two academic programmes in 1987, i.e., Diploma in Management and Diploma in Distance Education, with a strength of 4,528 students.

Today, it serves the educational aspirations of over 4 million students in India and 36 other countries through 21 Schools of Studies and a network of 67 regional centres, around 3,000 learner support centres and 67 overseas centres. The University offers about 490 certificate, diploma, degree and doctoral programmes, with a strength of nearly 420 faculty members and academic staff at the headquarters and regional centres and about 36,000 academic counsellors from conventional institutions of higher learning, professional organisations, and industry among others.

The mandate of the University is to:

Provide access to higher education to all segments of the society;

Offer high-quality, innovative and need-based programmes at different levels, to all those who require them;

IGNOU OPENNET-VII 2018 Eligibility Criteria 

In-service Nurses i.e. Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM) having 10+2 with three years Diploma in General nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of two years experience (after registration as RNRM) in the profession 

For male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme, should have a certificate in any of the Nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery 

OR 

In-service Nurses (RNRM) having 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent with three years Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of five years experience (after registration as RNRM) in the profession 

(For males nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme, should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery) 

Age of Admission: There is no maximum age limit 

No. of Seats 

The number of seats as approved by INC for admission to IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Program varies from PSC to PSC. The approved list of Program Study Centres (PSCs) for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing along with PSCs Code and RCs Code and number of seats is given in Appendix VIII 

The list includes active PSCs where Post Basic BSc Nursing students will be admitted 

Reservation: Reservation policy as per Government of India Rules 

IGNOU OPENNET-VII 2018 Admission Procedure 

Admission for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Program for January 2018 session will be done region wise on the basis of merit in common entrance test. Regional Centres where Post Basic B.Sc. (N) Program Study Centres are established will do the counseling and admissions 

Candidates from any Region/State can apply as per their choice through any Regional Centre/s where PSCs for Post Basic BSc. Nursing Programme are established 

Region based merit list will be prepared after tie-break by SED 

Selection Procedure 

Region wise merit list for admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing January 2018 session will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the OPENNET-VII (Entrance Test) and will be displayed in the IGNOU website after the declaration of results 

In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the OPENNET-VII (Entrance Test), the inter-se ranking of such candidates shall be determined on the basis of the following criteria for tie break

IGNOU OPENNET-VII 2018 Application Procedure 

The Application Form can also be downloaded from the IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in or obtained from Regional Centre IGNOU directly or by post 

In case the entrance test form is downloaded, a demand draft of Rs.1050/- should be sent along with the form. Candidates will be required to apply/submit their entrance test form to the Regional Centre from where the candidates wish to pursue the Program 

It may be noted that the Programme Study Centres for Post Basic BSc Nursing are located only in Regional Centres as given in Appendix-VII. So candidates are requested to ensure that they fill the RC code/PSC code in their entrance test forms of only those regional centres where PSCs for Post Basic BSc Nursing are activated and given in the Appendix-VIII 

Application should be submitted at concerned Regional Centre only (Where the candidate wishes to take admission) and where PSC of Post Basic BSc Nursing is located 

Applications in the prescribed form complete in all respects should reach the Concerned Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre (where the Program study centre of Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is located), on or before 15th July 2017 by registered post/speed post. Fill up Regional Centre Code where you want to take admission and in which the Program Study Centre of Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is located 

Exam Fee 

It is an essential pre-requisite for you to submit the Examination Form through online mode for taking exam in any course(s) 

Exam Fee of Rs.120/-per course is required to be paid through Debit/Credit Card through online mode; the student must submit On-line examination form as per guidelines through IGNOU website at www.ignou.ac.in during submission of exam schedule and payment can done by credit/debit card of any nationalized banks

The learners who are interested to apply for admission to IGNOU MA English distance programme must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree or equivalence from a recognized University.

PROGRAMME DETAILS:

Medium of Instruction: The medium of instruction offered by the university to study this programme and also to write examination is only English.

Duration: The minimum duration of MA English programme is 2 years but the students have the advantage to complete all the required courses in a maximum duration of 5 years.

Fee Structure:  The total fee for this programme is Rs. 9,000/- which the students has to pay @Rs.4,500/- per year. It should be noted that the fee should be paid only through demand draft in case of offline admission method. In case of online admission, fee can be paid online.

It will be necessary for the applicants to have completed their B.Ed. with at least 55% Marks.

The candidates, who belong to the reserved category will be awarded the relaxation of 5% marks in the maximum qualifying marks required for admission.

The reserved category will include the candidates of Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) / Disabled candidates.

The IGNOU M.Ed. Admission Application Form will be available on the official website of IGNOU online and offline on the regional centres as well.

Candidates can fill up the application form in the required format as directed.

It will be necessary for the applicant to fill the correct information in the application form and submit it online or offline.

There will be an application fee also which candidates will be required to pay through the credit card, debit card, net banking or DD.

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for Bachelor of Education BEd in Indira Gandhi National Open University, IGNOU, New Delhi

Medium of Instruction: English and Hindi

Eligibility for Bed Admission:

1.      A Bachelor's degree or a Higher Degree with fifty (50%) percent marks from a recognized University. However, the requirement of 50% marks shall not apply to the teachers appointed prior to the commencement of NCTE Regulation Norms and Procedures, second amendment regulation.

2.      Serving teachers with two years (2 years) full time teaching experience in a Government or Government Recognized School.

3.      The reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central/State Government whichever is applicable. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for them.

Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination (Bachelors/Higher Degree) and the results are awaited can also apply.

There is no age bar for admission to the Programme.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge society through inclusive education. It has tried to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) by offering high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.

The University began by offering two academic programmes in 1987, i.e., Diploma in Management and Diploma in Distance Education, with a strength of 4,528 students.

Today, it serves the educational aspirations of over 4 million students in India and 36 other countries through 21 Schools of Studies and a network of 67 regional centres, around 3,000 learner support centres and 67 overseas centres. A student can appear in anyone of the above OPENMAT Examinations. If a student wants to appear in more than one OPENMAT Exams, she/he is required to apply separately

Admission Procedure

Admission to the Management Programme (MBA and specialisation PG Diplomas in HRM, FM, OM, MM and FMP) will be done on the basis of the score obtained in the OPENMAT, conducted all over India twice a year as per above schedule. A result card will be sent to all the candidates who have appeared in the OPENMAT Exam

It will indicate whether the candidate has qualified or not qualified for admission on the basis of cut-off score as decided by the University

After qualifying in OPENMAT, a learner will have to apply for admission on the specified APPLICATION FORM (Form 2) which is given in the Prospectus alongwith required documents to the Regional Director concerned

Semester I: Any five courses from MS-1 to MS-11 excluding MS-10

Semester II: Rest of five courses

Semester III: MS-10, MS-95, two specialisation courses of your choice and MS-100

Reservation

The University provides reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, non-creamy layer of OBC, War Widows, Kashmiri Migrants and Physically Handicapped Learners, as per the Govt. of India rules, for admission to its various programmes.

However, submission of forged certificate under any category shall lead not only to cancellation of admission but also be legally implicated as per govt. of India rules.

Fee Structure

Course fee of Rs.1500/- per course can be paid through a Bank Draft obtained from any one of the scheduled banks in favour of "IGNOU" and should be payable at the city where your Regional Centre is situated (both at the time of Admission and Re-registration).

Please write your Name, Enrolment No. & Address on the back of the Bank Draft to ensure proper credit to your fee account.

Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances. It is also not adjustable against any other Programme of this University.
