About College:

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge society through inclusive education. It has tried to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) by offering high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. The University began by offering two academic programmes in 1987, i.e., Diploma in Management and Diploma in Distance Education, with a strength of 4,528 students. Today, it serves the educational aspirations of over 4 million students in India and 36 other countries through 21 Schools of Studies and a network of 67 regional centres, around 3,000 learner support centres and 67 overseas centres. The University offers about 490 certificate, diploma, degree and doctoral programmes, with a strength of nearly 420 faculty members and academic staff at the headquarters and regional centres and about 36,000 academic counsellors from conventional institutions of higher learning, professional organisations, and industry among others.

Eligibility:

Any Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 (three) year duration from a recognized University AND Mathematics as one of the subject at 10+2 level or graduation level; else the student is required to pursue and pass the BCS12 course concurrently with IGNOU MCA.

Master of Science (Food Nutrition) (MSCDFSM) [School of Continuing Education (SOCE)]

Eligibility:

B.Sc. (Home Science) specialization in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition or PG Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition or Graduate (B.Sc.) or equivalent (MBBS, BHHS etc) from the following background – Home Science/ Food Science and Technology, Life Science, Microbiology Medical, Pharmaceutical, Catering along with the DNHE or CNCC or CFN offered by IGNOU (Simultaneous admission for CFN/CNCC is also permitted).

Master of Arts (Rural Development) (MARD) [School of Continuing Education (SOCE)]

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized University.

Course Name:

Master of Science (Counselling and Family Therapy) (MSCCFT) [School of Continuing Education (SOCE)]

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree with specialization in subjects like Human Development and Family Studies, Child Development, Human Development and Childhood Studies, Child Development and Family Relationships, Home Science, Psychology, Social Work, Medicine or other allied disciplines. “Allied disciplines” include Anthropology, Sociology, Education, Philosophy, MBBS or equivalent qualification in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha or Homeopathy Medicines, Nursing etc. from a recognized University.

OR

Bachelor’s degree with a higher degree in any of the above mentioned subjects or Bachelor’s Degree along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from a recognized University.

Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM) [School of Tourism and Hospitality Services Management (SOTHSM)]

Eligibility:

Category 1: BTS,BA(Tourism); B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration (BHM); Bachelor’s in Hotel Management (approved by AICTE) and those students who have done their graduation in any field along with a Diploma in Tourism, which is recognized in the University system or by AICTE.

Category 2: A Bachelor’s Degree in any field. (However, all students of Category 2 will have to pass four additional Tourism foundation courses during their period of study.)

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Master of Arts (Education) (MAEDU) [School of Education (SOE)]

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with or without a Degree in Education from a recognized University.

Medium of Instruction: English, However, students can write assignments, Term-end-Examination and Dissertation in Hindi.

Master of Arts (Economics) (MEC) [School of Social Sciences (SOSS)]

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized University.

How to Apply:

The Admission Forms can be submitted online (except for International Students) through Online Admission System at http://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in. Currently, the facility is available for the programmes offered through Common Prospectus except merit-based and entrance test based programmes. The prospective learners are required to create their user ID and password for logging in the system and upload the required documents along with the submission of the Admission Form. There is no need to send the printed copy of the Admission Form to the Regional Centre. The programme fee can be paid online using payment Gateway through net banking, debit card and credit card. Once the admission form is submitted online, the students can track the progress of their admission. A message is sent on the mobile number and email ID registered with the System once admission is confirmed. In case of any discrepancy in the Admission Form, the prospective students are advised to remove the discrepancy within a stipulated time. Failing to do so will lead to rejection of admission form.

The prospective learners submitting the Admission Form through this System can download the Prospectus free from IGNOU website. However, an amount of Rs.200/- is charged as registration fee along with the programme fee.

Closing Date:

The last date for Re-Registration forms for all Programmes extended up to 31st January, 2020
