Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2016

Anna University, Chennai, on behalf of the government of Tamil Nadu has announced the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2016 and is inviting applications for the same.

TANCET is conducted for candidates seeking admission to the following degree Programs of 2016-16 offered at university departments, university colleges of Engineering, Regional centres of Anna University, Government and Government aided Engineering Colleges, Arts and Science Colleges, Self Financing colleges (including stand alone colleges) in Tamil Nadu.

·         ME, M.Tech, M.Plan, M.Arch

·         MBA

·         MCA

Some Universities and self financing Engineering colleges also choose to admit students on the basis of their TANCET 2016 scores.

Students from other states can also take TANCET 2016, but the eligibility conditions will be decided by the admitting authority, University.

Eligibility:

TANCET 2016 Eligibility Criteria for MBA

You need to have passed a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and scored at least 50% (45% for reserved category candidates) in the qualifying degree examination.

MCA Lateral Entry

Toget into an MCA program through lateral entry, you need to have passed a recognized 3 year (minimum) Bachelor’s degree in BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science, Information Technology) with mathematics as a course at 10+2 level or at graduate level and obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examinations.

a. You must pass a recognized Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field and score at least 50% (45% for reserved category candidates) in the qualifying degree examination.

How to Apply:

·         Candidates have to submit only one application form as the form is common for all 3 entrance test.

·         Candidates have to pay an entrance test fee of Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 for SC, SCA, ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of permanent community certificate in card format) for either one (M.B.A. or M.C.A. or M.Tech,  M.Arch, M.Plan, M.E) of the programs.

·         Candidates who want to appear for more than one program have to pay Rs.500 (Rs. 250 for SC, SCA, ST candidate belonging to Tamil Nadu) for each additional program that they want to appear for.

Registration process

1. Registration in person: Hall tickets will be issued to the candidates at the co-ordinating centers who come in with their 10th and 12th std. mark sheets (or 3yr diploma certificate) and cash or demand draft for the entrance test fee. 
2. Registration through internet can be done by logging on to website. The filled-in downloaded application form should be sent along with the demand draft and photocopies of certificate to 'The Secretary, TANCET, Centre for entrance examination, Anna University, Chennai-600025

3. The demand draft should be drawn in favor of 'The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai payable at Chennai obtained from any nationalized bank.

About College:

Agricultural education was first started in Bihar in 1945 with the establishment of Bihar Agricultural College at Sabour in the district of Bhagalpur. Later on, it was realised that the agricultural situation and features of the plateau region of South Bihar is different from the rest of Bihar. Hence there was a need of a second college for this region. Ranchi Agricultural College was established in 1955, Ranchi Veterinary College in 1961 and College of Forestry in 1980. Considering the importance of agricultural education for the agricultural development of the state, the first Agricultural University in Bihar – Rajendra Agricultural University was started in1971 with its headquarters at Pusa. In view of the specific agriculture features of Chotanagpur and Santhal Parganas, the establishment of a secondAgricultural University, for this region of the Bihar State, was conceived.

Birsa Agricultural University was established on 26th June, 1981 after its formal inauguration by the then Prime Minister of India, Late Smt. Indira Gandhi. Its primary objective is to develop area specific technologies and manpower in the field of agriculture, animal husbandry and forestry for the agricultural development of the plateau region of Bihar and economic upliftment of tribal and other backward class population of the region. Paper Pattern for VEE 2016:

·         The VEE exam is for duration of 90 minutes containing 100 objective type questions. Each question carries a score of 1; the maximum score being 100.

·         The MBA test paper consists of a total 100 objective type questions on topics such as Language comprehension, Analytical skill, Indian & global Environment ,Intelligence and critical reasoning and mathematical skills.

·         The B.E programs test paper also consists of a total 100 objective type question from the subjects such as Fundamentals of Computing, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General knowledge.

·         The MCA test paper consist of a total 100 objective type question in the topics such as Computer fundamentals (40), English communication (20), Mathematical skill (20) and general knowledge (20).

·         The B.Pharm, Pharm. D, test paper consists of 100 objective type questions in the subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

·         For M. Pharm, Pharm. About College:

Sikkim University was established by an Act of Parliament in 2007. It is fully funded by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. It has 6 Schools of Studies and 29 departments offering various programmes of studies, which is an indication of the fact that it is one of the fastest growing universities in the country today. The total number of regular teachers is 130 but they are supported by over 30 guest faculty members and about the same number of adjunct faculty members for teaching various courses offered by the University. The total number of students at present is about 1300, which is likely to go up to 2200 in the coming semester. The departments are located in various hired buildings in and around Gangtok, but the students, teachers and administrative staff are ferried from one end to the other free of cost by buses hired by the University.

Despite the absence of its own campus, the University has good classroom infrastructure, state of the art laboratories, rich collection of books in the library, Wi-fi connectivity in the buildings, young and enthusiastic faculty members, and a small but motivated group of administrative staff.
