For purposes of admission to the Ph.D programme, a candidate should have obtained a Master’s Degree with not less than a Second Class or an Equivalent grade. In the case of examinations, where classification does not exist, a minimum of 50% marks is a needed in the qualifying examination.

A candidate will be registered as a Full-time, Part-time (internal) or Part-time (external) subject to the provisions of these regulations and subject to the following: “Research fellows / Research assistants / Technical assistants / Project assistants / Training officers in extension departments approved by the University, appointed in the research projects funded by recognized agencies / Government are also eligible to register for the Ph.D programme on a full-time basis in the same department provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria laid in”.

Eligible Candidates for Ph.D., Full-time:  The following candidates are eligible to register for the full-time Ph.D., programme:

(a)   A candidate who has qualified for the Master’s degree in the faculty of Commerce of this University or equivalent thereto.

(b)  50% or more marks in the aggregate in the qualifying degree examination.

Eligible Candidates for Ph.D., Part-time:

(a)   A Teacher working in the Department of the University or of an affiliated College of the University, Higher Secondary School or High School or Polytechnic within the territorial jurisdiction of Periyar University and with a qualifying degree

(b)  A candidate employed other than as a teacher in a permanent job, within the territorial jurisdiction of the University with a minimum of four years working experience put in continuously with the qualifying degree and satisfying the rules framed separately by the Syndicate from time to time.

(c)   Research Assistants / Technical Assistants appointed by the University are eligible to register for Ph.D degree on Part-time basis in the same department.

The SIU PET will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016. SIU PET is conducted for taking admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programs offered in Law, Management, Computer Studies, Media, Communication and Design, Health and Biomedical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Engineering disciplines for the session 2016.

Eligibility:

®     Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant subject with 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from any University recognized by Association of Indian

®     Universities (AIU) in India (SC, ST candidates will get 5% relaxation in marks or equivalent CGPA).

®     In case of candidates holding a qualifying degree from a foreign university, registration for PhD will be confirmed after determination of equivalence by SIU

®     Master’s degree or equivalent in any subject with 55% marks and minimum of 5 years of work experience, in the area of interdisciplinary research in which admission is being sought.

·      The details regarding the entrance test and the number of vacancies in each faculty shall be notified by the University in the month of April, May.

·      The entrance test for admission to PhD (PET) program shall be conducted by the University once in an academic year, on the fourth Sunday in the month of June

·      The Candidate shall apply online for admission to Ph. D program on the university website as per the admission notification.

·      The candidate shall also upload the ‘Proposed Research idea’ along with the application.

·      The ‘Proposed Research idea’ shall detail the proposed research area and plan of action.

·      The entrance test for the Ph. D program shall be of multiple choice questions of 75 marks and of 1 hour 30 minutes duration.

Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Institute for the Physically Handicapped is an autonomous organization under the administrative and financial control of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The Institute for the Physically Handicapped came into being when the erstwhile Jawahar Lal Nehru Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and other allied institution run by the council for the Aid of crippled & handicapped were taken over by the Government of India on 22nd May 1975 and converted into an autonomous body in the year 1976. It was renamed after Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya in the year 2002.

The Institute aims to serve the physically disabled of all age groups. In this pursuit of alleviating the suffering of disabled people, the Institute runs following programmes:-

About College:

All the three colleges- DPMC&H, DCAST, DCET and DVCE, which are rapidly developing and progressing byleaps and bounds, are the offshoots of Ch. Charan Singh Memorial Educational Society and Maharani Laxmi Bai Memorial Educational Society which are already providing its expertise for more than 20 years in preparing the students professionally. The trust- Ch. Charan Singh Memorial Educational Society is also running two ITI's i.e., Ch. Charan Singh Memorial ITI, Dehra Dun and Doon Public ITI, Dehradun.

The societies came into existence to guide un-channelized youths to lead them in a right direction towards their future prospects.

These colleges are affiliated with the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna (H.N.B.) Garhwal University, Srinagar Garhwal (Uttarakhand). It was on 25th December, 2001 that the Hon'ble Shri Ajit Singh ji, the then Unio Minister of Agriculture, inaugurated a new block namely Louis Pasteur in Doon (P.G.) West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has announced the exam dates for Joint Entrance Examination (JEHOM-2016), which will be conducted in May 2016. The JEHOM 2016 will be held on Sunday, May 08, 2016. JEHOM is conducted for taking admission to Bachelor in Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) program in the state of West Bengal for the session 2016.

Eligibility Criteria for JEHOM 2016:

·         The applicant must be a citizen of India.

·         Candidate should have passed, appeared in 10+2 level examination in regular mode from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or from any other equivalent board.

·         Candidate must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B category) at the qualifying examination.

How to Apply:

Application Procedure for JEHOM 2016:

·         Candidates can apply online.

·         The candidate has to take a print out of the e-challan for payment of fees of Rs. 510/- (application fee-Rs. 500/- and bank charges-Rs. 10/-). 

Paper Pattern for JEHOM 2016:

·         The test will be on 50 questions, each carrying 2 marks (full marks 100) to be completed in 1 hour. The paper contains following topics:

·         English Language-30marks–15 questions

·         General Knowledge-30marks–15 questions

·         Logical Reasoning-20marks–10 questions

·         Elementary Mathematics-20 marks–10 questions

·         All questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type.

·         Each question will have four answer options of which only one is correct. Each correct response will fetch 2 marks, each incorrect response will fetch (-1, 2) mark, whereas no response will fetch zero mark.

·         Multiple responses for any question will fetch (-1, 2) mark.

·         The questions will be in English language only.
