About College:

The University of Calcutta was established by an Act of the Legislative Council (Act No II of 1857) of the then British India. A supplementary Act empowering the University to confer some additional degrees was passed in 1860. Another Act was passed in 1884 by which the University was authorised to confer honorary Degree of Law.The University Act of 1904 empowered the University to make necessary arrangements for the instruction of students, and though most of the teaching continued to be imparted in the affiliated colleges, teaching in some of the higher branches began to be organised under the University management.The Calcutta University Act, 1951, which came into operation from March, 1954 brought about important changes in the constitution and character of the University. The Act provided for Postgraduate teaching in some of the affiliated colleges along with the University Colleges. The Calcutta University Act, 1966 was passed with a view to providing for the reorganisation of the University that came into force on September 18, 1968.The University is now being governed by the Calcutta University Act, 1979 as amended up to 31 May, 2006. The Act provided for the reconstitution of the University to enable it to function more efficiently in the fields of teaching, training and research in various branches of learning and courses of study and extending higher education to meet the growing needs of the society and to make the constitution of various authorities and bodies of the University more democratic.

Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination has announced the exam dates for Tripura Joint Entrance Examinations (TJEE) 2017, which will be conducted in April 2017. The TJEE for Physics and Chemistry will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 and Mathematics and Biology will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE) will conduct Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE)-2017 on the basis of its new syllabi (updated in 2015) at Dharmanagar, Kailasahar, Ambassa, Udaipur and Agarala to prepare merit list for admission to Engineering, Technological, Veterinary, Agriculture, Fisheries and other Professional Degree Courses against available seats reserved for the State of Tripura.

Eligibility Criteria for Tripura JEE 2017:

Candidate must be a citizen of India.

·         Candidate must be a permanent resident of Tripura and either the candidate or his/her parent must have been residing in the state of Tripura continuously for not less than 10 (ten) years immediately prior to the date of making application for appearing at the Joint Entrance Examination-2017.

·         Candidate must have passed/ appeared/ due to appear in the year of joint entrance examination at the higher secondary examination of TBSE/ CBSE or equivalent examination with the subjects in which he / she desires to appear at the joint entrance examination.

Paper Pattern for Tripura JEE 2017:

Candidates seeking admission to Engineering / Technological Degree Courses (Group-A) will have to appear in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and those seeking admission to various Degree Courses of Veterinary / Agricultural / Fisheries and others (Group-B) will have to appear in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates desiring to take chances in both of the above groups (Group-C) will have to appear in all the four subjects.

Each subject of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology will have a Text Booklet/Question paper containing 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Four different subjects, namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology will have four different Question Papers/Test Booklets.

Full marks for each question paper of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology will be 100 marks.

Duration of Examination of each paper will be 2 hours.

Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD), New Delhi invites applications for admission to Bachelor of Arts (B.A Honours) offered in Fashion Design, Interior Architecture & Design and Communication Design Programmes for the academic session 2017.
The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) in collaboration with Kingston University, London, offers a creative, studio based education through its three rigorous Bachelor degree Programmes in Fashion Design, Interior Architecture & Design, and Communication Design.

1st Year - Foundation Diploma in Design

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have appeared/passed the CBSE/ISC/IB (or any other equivalent board) 10+2 examination in any discipline
Candidates who have recently appeared for the examination and are awaiting their Results may also apply
Lateral entry into the 2nd year of the program is possible for students who have successfully completed the first year of their design degree/diploma program from a nationally or internationally recognized Design Institute

Selection Procedure

The IIAD follows a two-step evaluation procedure:
Candidates will have to clear the IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) and following that the candidate will have a comprehensive interview and portfolio assessment test
Candidates who are applying for Lateral Entry will be exempt from the iDAT and their admissions will be based on portfolio and personal interview

IIAD Entrance Examination

The iDAT is a mandatory two-hour test for all applicants, and will be administered at prescribed testing centres. The IIAD Admission Committee will review each student's aptitude for observation, drawing and design skills, imaginative and creative expression, and visual and communication strengths

iDAT examinees will need to bring: (a)Pens/Pencils, (b) Dry colours (pencils/pastes), (c)A ruler, (d) A pen, (e) A gluestick and (f) A small pair of scissors
Personal interview: The applicant will be evaluated on his/her understanding of basic art and design concepts and industry awareness; emphasis will be placed on the individual's maturity, confidence and communication skills
Personal portfolio: Each candidate appearing for a personal interview MUST carry his/her creative portfolio; a quality portfolio carries 50% weightage of the total evaluation at the interview/assessment stage

Scholarship Application

IIAD offers 30 scholarships to meritorious students
Candidates with a 70% aggregate in the CBSE/ISC/IB (or any other equivalent board) 10+2 exam in any discipline may apply for scholarship
The final result will depend also on performance in the IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT), personal interview and portfolio review

Online Application Fee Payment of Rs.1000/- must be made through credit/debit/netbanking facilities of all major banks
Once you have clicked on the "final submit" button you will be able to view your completed form. On the top right hand corner of your completed form there is a download button available for you to download your completed form
Offline Applications - Offline applicants are required to download application through the IIAD admissions portal www.applytoiiad.com
The application form and brochure is also available at select outlets at a fee of Rs.1000/-; if this fee is paid at the time of purchase from any outlet, the fee need not be paid again at the time of application submission
The application fee can be paid in cash or through a Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- in the name of Teamwork Education Foundation, Payable at New Delhi. Mention your name, application form number and cell phone/contact number on the back of the demand draft
