Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah Unversity has come into existence by an Act of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly called the Jammu & Kashmir Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Act No. XVI of 2002. The University is nurtured by the Jammu & Kashmir Wakf Council. Procedure for Admission

Admission to Diploma Engineering courses for University quota shall be made on the basis of Merit in the qualifying examination. While those allocated to BoPEE will be filled through Entrance Examination conducted by BoPEE.

Eligibility:

The eligibility condition for admission to B. Voc. programme shall be 10+2, in any stream or level-4 of NSQF.

The admission will be made for 50 seats on the basis of academic merit of qualifying examination or by entrance Test (will be held at BGSBU) if the number of admission seekers is more.

Eligibility:

The minimum qualification required for admission to the Course is as follows:

A Bachelor's Degree of 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline from the University of Jammu or any other University recognized by the University of Jammu or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by the University of Jammu with at least 50% of the aggregate marks (40% for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes);

A pass in the final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants; Cost and Works Accountants; Company Secretaries;

OR

A.M.I.E. (Engineering) with at least 50% of the aggregate number of marks (40% for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes).

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Statutes, a candidate who has appeared or is appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination and is expecting to pass with the requisite percentage of aggregate number of marks in the said examination is also eligible to apply. In case such a candidate is called for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview, the permission to appear in these shall be granted only if he / she produces a certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended, if he / she is a regular candidate, and from the Controller of Examinations, if he /she is a private candidate, testifying that he / she has appeared in full at least in the written part of the final year of the qualifying examination.

The candidates have to appear in CAT-2019/ AIMA/ MAT 2019-20 (Common Admission Test)* conducted by the IIMs on November 25, 2019. Professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent grade point average

Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year may also apply. However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30th June 2019.

*The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution. In case of grades / CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/ institution. If any University/institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

1.    Self-attested copies of Class X, XII, Graduation and Post-Graduation degrees.

Central University of Kashmir (formerly known as the Central University of Jammu and Kashmir) was established in March 2009 with the appointment and joining of Prof. Abdul Wahid Qureshi , a noted academician and the former Vice Chancellor of University of Kashmir, as the First Vice Chancellor.

Milestones:

Central University of Kashmir (formerly known as the Central University of Jammu and Kashmir) was established in March, 2009 with the appointment and joining of Prof. Abdul Wahid Qureshi , a noted academician and the former Vice Chancellor of University of Kashmir, as the First Vice Chancellor. 

The administrative office setup at 101, Baghi-Hyder, Hyderpora in May, 2009 started functioning with a skelton staff engaged on deputation/ contract basis.

Substantive appointments to various administrative posts including First Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assisstant Registrar were made in June, 2010. 

Common Entrance Test for admission to MBA, M.Sc I.T & M.A.English programmes was conducted on 19 & 20 June at 30 centers across India in colloboration with 6 other Central Universities. 

Transit Campus of the University was setup at Sonwar in August, 2010. 

A boys hostel was set up at Sonwar to facilitate the students coming from different parts of the State/Country.

Transport facility was put up in place to facilitate the communication of students to and from the University in February, 2011.

The work related to the demarcation of the land for University Campus at Ganderbal and preparation of Contour maps was allotted to CPWD.

Three more Masters programmes Economics, Mathematics, Convergent Journalism and one Integrated BALLB programme were offered from Academic Session 2011.

An Academic block of the University along with a boys and a girls hostel was established at Magarmal Bagh.

Substantive appointments to various teaching positions in Management Studies, English, Information Technology, Law, Convergent Journalism and Mathematics were made in February, 2012.

Three more Masters programmes Urdu, Education and Tourism Management were launched for Academic Session 2012.

Two Integrated M.Phil / Ph.D in Management and in English programmes and LLM programme were also offered from Academic Session 2012.

One more Masters programme Politics was launched for Academic Session 2013.
