CEE AMPAI 2018 - The Common Entrance Examination (CEE) 2018 will be organised by Association of Minority Professional Academic Institute (AMPAI) for the candidates seeking admission to the various Degree Courses in Engineering and Pharmacy for the academic year 2018-19

About the CEE AMPI-2018

Common Entrance Examination (CEE) organised by Association of Minority Professional Academic Institutes (AMPAI) is to conduct an entrance examination for students in the State and National Level.

Students of Sikh and Other Minority and Non-Minority in the State and National levelmay appear in the CEE-AMPAI-2018-WB Examination. This examination will be conducted both for admission in the first year of 4 years B.Tech and B.Pharm Courses.

The Common Entrance Exam- 2018 will be conducted for admission to different degree level courses in Engineering & Technology and Pharmacy in the AMPAI enlisted colleges as mentioned above based on the following subject combination.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to appear in CEE-AMPAI-2018-WB and thereafter secure admission in the approved institutes based on position in the merit list, students have tofulfil the following criteria:

Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India

Age Restriction

For Engineering & Technology /Pharmacy Courses:

Candidates must be at least 17 (seventeen) years of age as on 31st December 2018. There is no upper age limit

A candidate born on or after 01.01.2000 is not eligible to appear in the CEE-AMPAI 2018-WB

Date of Birth as recorded in Class X Exam under any School/Secondary Education Board Certificate/Admit Card will only be considered.

Academic Requirements:

For Bachelor in Engineering & Technology:

Candidates must have passed 10+2 Examination from a recognized Council/Board with:

Individual pass marks in Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Computer Application as Compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory & practical wherever applicable) in regular mode

Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together as well as pass in English in the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 30% marks

For Bachelor in Pharmacy Course:

Candidates must have passed 10+2 Examination from a recognized Council/Board with:

Individual pass marks in Physics and Chemistry along with any one of Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Computer Application as Compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory & practical wherever applicable) in regular mode.

Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together as well as pass in English in the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 30% marks

Note: A candidate appearing in the qualifying exam 10+2 standard exam in 2018 may appear in the CEE-AMPAI-2018-WB but shall not be made eligible for allotment of seats for admission if he/she does not pass the qualifying exam with required minimum standard of eligibility criteria as stated above

Reservation under Minority quota (Sikh & Christian):

Percentage of reserved seats declared as per discretion of the minority institutes and as per the notification by the Govt. of West Bengal

Subjects of Exam:

Candidates are required to appear in 3 papers:

Paper I: Mathematics

Paper II: Physics and Chemistry

Paper III: Biology

Exam Schedule - 13th May 2018

Mathematics - 100 Marks (09.00 am – 10.30 pm)

Physics & Chemistry –75 Marks each (total 150 marks) (11.30 am – 01.30 pm)

Biology - 100 Marks (02.30 pm – 04.00 pm)

Pattern of Questions & Mode of Answering:

Question Pattern: Questions will be based on the syllabus for WBJEE - 2018 (details available at www.wbjeeb.in). In every subject, all questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ-type) with four options against each of the questions and the answer(s) to each of the questions has/have to be marked on the OMR Answer Sheet

Mathematics: Category I - 60 X 1 mark each, Category-II - 20 X 2 marks each, Total - 100 marks

Biological Sciences: Category I - 60 X 1 mark each Category II - 20 X 2 marks each, Total - 100 marks

Physics: Category I - 45 X 1 mark each, Category II - 15 X 2 marks each, Total - 75 marks

Chemistry: Category I - 45 X 1 mark each, Category II - 15 X 2 marks each, Total - 75 marks

There is no negative marking

Category-I: a) Only one option is correct, correct response will yield one mark; b) For more than one answer indicated against a particular question in the OMR sheet; the said answer will be treated as incorrect response/answer

Category II: a) Only one option is correct, correct response will yield two marks; b) For more than one answer indicated against a particular question in the OMR sheet; the said answer will be treated as incorrect response/answer

Mode of Answering

Questions must be answered on specially designed machine readable answer sheets (OMR Answer Sheet); Answers are to be marked (bubbled) using blue/black ball point pen only on the OMR answer sheet

N.B.: It is to be noted carefully that the candidates must fill in as well as bubble in All the relevant information including the “Question Booklet No. and Question Booklet Series” at the indicated places on both OMR Answer Sheet and Attendance Sheet during examination

Exam Centres

The allocation of exam centre will be based on the choices given by the candidate during Application Form fill-up. Each applicant has the right to choose a maximum of two centres

However, discretion of AMPAI in allocation of exam centre shall be final. A candidate may apply for CEE-AMPAI-2018-WB, in 2 ways:

Online Registration:

Step 1: Click on link: "Apply online" at www.ampai.in and register at AMPAI website by providing name and a valid e-mail id at the "New Online Registration" section. A unique password shall be mailed to the e-mail you have provided

Step 2: You need to re-visit www.ampai.in and go to the login page. This time you need to use the "Existing Users Login" section where you can enter your e-mail id and the password sent to you on email and proceed to fill and submit the on-line application form of CEE-AMPAI-2018-WB

Step 3: The candidate next needs to make a payment of Rs.200/- [Rupees Two Hundred only] by the on-line payment gateway

Offline Registration:

Step 1: Candidates can download the Application Form from www.ampai.in. candidate needs to visit www.ampai.in and download a pdf copy of the Application form from the appropriate link

Step 2: The candidate needs to take a printout of the downloaded form, fill up the necessary fields

Application Fee of Rs.200/- has to be paid by DD in favour of “Association of Minority Professional Academic Institutes” or “AMPAI” payable at Kolkata

Issue of Admit Card

Admit Cards will be made available online from www.ampai.in from 03rd May 2018

Candidates will be able to download their respective admit cards after providing their name, date of birth, user id (their email address) and password

Candidates must bring one copy A4 size print out of them admit cards at the exam hall on 13th May 2018

About College:

Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is an advanced research institute established and fully funded by the Reserve Bank of India for carrying out research on development issues from a multi-disciplinary point of view.

IGIDR was registered as an autonomous society on November 14, 1986 and as a public trust in January 1987. On December 28, 1987 the campus was inaugurated by Late. Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India.

Subsequently, the Institute was recognized as a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act.  Since then it has been awarded the highest National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) rating of A++ (under the old methodology) given to Indian academic institutions.

Starting as a purely research institution, it rapidly developed into a full-fledged teaching cum research organisation when it launched a Ph.D. program in the field of development studies in 1990. The objective of the Ph.D. programme is to produce researchers with diverse disciplinary backgrounds who can address issues of economics, energy and environment policies. In 1995, the institute initiated the M. Phil programme. The M.Sc. programme commenced in 2003 to introduce students to the world of research at an earlier stage.

At present the Institute has about 150 employees and students that include about 26 full time faculty members, 24 non-academic staff and about 90 M.Sc./M.Phil/Ph.D students.

The Cabinet had allocated 43 acres of land for the purpose. The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) serves as a regional Institute for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. It was established in Mumbai in July 1956, till July 1970 it was known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) and till 1985 it was known as the International Institute for Population Studies (IIPS). The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities and was declared as a 'Deemed University' in August 19, 1985 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The recognition has facilitated the award of recognized degrees by the Institute itself and paved the way for further expansion of the Institute as an academic institution.

Started in 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India and the United Nations, it has established itself as the premier Institute for training and research in Population Studies for developing countries in the Asia and Pacific region. IIPS holds a unique position among all the regional centres, in that it was the first such centre to be started, and serves a much larger population than that served by any of the other regional centres. The Institute is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Besides teaching and research activities, the Institute also provides consultancy to the Government and Non-Government organizations and other academic institutions. Over the years, the Institute has helped in building a nucleus of professionals in the field of population and health in various countries of the ESCAP region. During the past 53 years, students from 42 different countries of Asia and the Pacific region, Africa and North America have been trained at the Institute. Eligibility Criteria 

Admission to this Institute is for children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and war widows of the Army only. The children of the following categories of Army personnel are eligible and are required to submit the relevant certificates (as given against the category) as proof of their eligibility for admission to AWES Professional Colleges along with the Application Form: 

Certificate Number 1 is applicable for the following: 

(i) Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years of continuous service in the Army 

(ii) Children of Ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board 

(iii) Children of Ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge or released after ten years of service 

Certificate Number 2 is applicable for the following: 

(i) Adopted Child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission 

(ii) Step Children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is otherwise eligible 

Certificate Number 3 is applicable for the special cases: 

(i) Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN/IAF) 

(ii) Children of APS personnel classified as Ex- servicemen as per Govt of India, Ministry of Defence 

Academic Qualification 

The candidate should have passed 10+ 2 examination or its equivalent in any academic stream with English as a compulsory subject. Candidates can also apply provisionally, subject to the condition that they produce the proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission 
National Open Schooling Students (regular) should produce 11th Std. certificate from school (Admission is subject to the approval of Affiliated University). All provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination 10 + 2, or its equivalent is not submitted as required by due date 

Age Limit 

The candidate should not be more than 22 years of age as on 01st July 2018; the date of birth recorded in the matriculation or equivalent exam certificate will be considered as proof 

Physical Fitness 
Candidate should have good general health with satisfactory limits of chest expansion and contraction, normal vision and hearing. In case of defective vision, it must be corrected to 6/9 in both eyes or 6/6 in the better eye 

Selection Procedure 

Merit List - The admission will be strictly on merit ranking based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Written Admission Test (WAT) 

Relative Merit in case of equal marks. In case of candidates securing equal marks, their relative merit will be reassessed inter-se on the basis of securing higher aggregate marks in the qualifying exam, i.e. 10+2 or its equivalent which will be given first preference

1.   Candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks in graduation from any statutory University (45% for reserved category).

2.   In case of PGDM (Executive Batch), candidate should have 2-3 years of industrial work experience as a full time employee in the field of Sales, Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, Operations, Systems and related areas of management in the industry is eligible. These applicants should submit the industry experience certificate signed by the Director(HR) or any other authorised signatory of the Company / Companies and copies of their Appointment Letters along with the application form. There will be no difference in the course curriculum for this batch and they will receive the same inputs as applicable to the PGDM Programs except for the fact that they can expect lateral placements with higher compensation packages. Those having lesser number of industrial experiences also get different and upgraded placements depending upon their corporate experience though they may not be admitted to the Executive Batch, but to the other courses.

3.   Relevant work experience means full time employment in any company and not in the family business. It also means working on full-time basis on the specialization departments in the company such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, Operations and so on. Only such candidates can expect differential compensations based on work experience. However the selection committee can look into all the other type of work experiences and consider award of marks.

4.   Candidates appearing for any final year Degree examination up to June 2018 can also apply. However, if they fail to match the above qualitative requirement when the result is declared for the graduation examination, they will be relieved from the course compulsorily. Same will be the case with respect to those who fail in their degree examination, which means a candidate should qualify his/her graduation examination with a minimum of 50% marks latest by the academic year 2018-19. The mark sheets should be submitted to the Institute.

6.   Should be willing to comply with the Rules and Regulations of the Sri Balaji Society, Pune as explained in this Handbook.

Selection Procedure

Written Examination

We accept CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores. However, as CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores are issued to the students, any student who has appeared for the CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT examinations can apply for our courses with the CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores. Thus, all the four Management institutes will accept CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores. However, the XAT, MAT and CMAT scores will be equalized and validated to the CAT score value and that will only be counted for the purpose of merit list. Anyone having any objection to the same, need not to apply. We do not believe in any cut-off points as we give only 30% of the weightage for the entrance examination, while making the merit list.
