·         PG Diploma Courses: The Candidate shall possess degree from a University recognized by the University Grant Commission

Eligibility Certificate

·         The applicant who has passed the prescribed qualifying examination from recognized University/Boards of examination that are situated outside Karnataka or in a Foreign Country shall compulsorily obtain the Eligibility Certificate from the University before taking the admission

Admission Procedure

Admission to both the course shall be made strictly on the basis of merit. While making admission to the respective course reservation policy of the Govt. of Karnataka governing admissions to higher educational institutions issued from time to shall be observed

Reservation Policy

·         02 Seats under supernumerary quota shall be reserved for the Jammu and Kashmir students within the sanctioned intake until the last date of admission as per the orders of Govt. of India

·         5% of seats shall be reserved for the Kashmiri Migrants until the last date of admission as per the orders of Govt. of India, Dept. of HRD, New Delhi

·         Reservation for Hyderabad – Karnataka students under Art 371(J) as per the rules shall be adhered to 08% of the seats shall be reserved for them

·         03% of seats shall be reserved for physically challenged students as per rules applicable

• As regards minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2), the candidates must have secured 45% more from a recognized Board/Council of the respective State or at the National level.

• Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April, 2018 are also eligible to appear in CLAT-2018 online examination. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.

• The result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the Course.

• In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:

Higher marks in the component /section on legal aptitude in the CLAT-2018 exam;

Higher age & Computerised draw of lots

Army Institute of Law (AIL) was established in July 1999 under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). Its interim campus at Patiala was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. BA LLB Integrated (Duration: 5 years)

Eligibility:

A candidate who has passed 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala, securing at least 45% marks vide Punjabi University Letter No.216468/Meeting-4 dated 7 May 2004. The applicants, who have obtained 10+2 through Open University systems directly, without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies, are not eligible for admission in Law Courses.

1.      The applicants appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April 2017 are allowed to take the Entrance Test - 2017 provisionally, subject to the condition that their candidature shall stand cancelled in case they do not pass the 10 + 2 March / April Exams 2017 with the required percentage of marks.

2.      Candidates passing the compartment papers of qualifying exam of 10 + 2 subsequently shall not be eligible for admission even if a seat is available.

3.      In case an applicant has passed a qualifying examination from Board/University whose degree has not been notified as equivalent to the Punjabi University, Patiala, he/she will have to produce the eligibility certificate from Punjabi University, Patiala at the time of interview, failing which his / her candidature shall not be considered.

4.      Candidates whose declaration of results is delayed should apply well in time to the concerned Board of examination to forward a confidential result directly to Principal, Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Punjab. The responsibility to ensure its timely dispatch will be that of the candidate. Delayed receipt of result shall render the candidate ineligible for admission.

Admission Process

a)     Admission to 60 seats for wards of army personnel will be done through entrance test conducted by AIL under the aegis of AWES.

b)     Admission to 04 seats in the All India Category will also through the same entrance test.

c)     Candidates for both Army and All India Category will be called for counselling as per merit in the written exam. Admission will be granted only if the candidate is found eligible on the day of counselling.

d)     Admission to 16 seats in the Punjab Category will be based on 10+2 merits, drawn up by the nominated university as per the notification issued by Govt. of Punjab.

Master of Laws (LLM) [Specialization in: Business and Corporate Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Innovation, Technology and Intellectual Property Law, Criminal Law and Security Law, Human Rights Law, Law, Policy and Good Governance, (A specialization will be offered subject to minimum 5 admissions in the Specialization Group)]

Eligibility:

Three/Five year LL.B Degree from any Indian or Foreign University recognized by the UGC with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% for SC/ST Candidates).

Candidates who have appeared for the final year LLB examination may also apply

Fee Structure:

Indian Students - Academic Fees (Per Annum) - Rs 1, 32,000/-; Institutional Deposit (Refundable) - Rs 10,000/-

Reservation of Seats:

Within the sanctioned Intake: (i) Scheduled Caste: 15%; (ii) Scheduled Tribe: 7.5%; (iii) Differently-Abled: 03%; (iv) Wards of Serving/Retired Defence Personnel: 05%

Over and above the Sanctioned intake: (i) Kashmiri Migrants - 2 Seats; (ii) International Students, including PIO and NRI - 15%

Selection Process

Admission through All India Admission Test (AIAT)

All India Admission Test consists of:

·         Test (comprising of objective and subjective test to assess the aptitude for teaching, research, legal aptitude and basic legal knowledge)- Weightage 70 %

·         Personal Interview (PI)- (Personal Interview is intended to test the personal attributes, fitment, work experience, publications and statement of purpose)- Weightage 30 %

Note: Please bring a   Statement of Purpose (SOP) not more than (250 words) and Two References (one page each) from the Head or Supervisor of your Institute at the time of All India Admission Test (AIAT).
