Eligibility:

• Admission will be undertaken based on the scores of the candidates of CLAT-2018 and Entrance Examination of Xavier Law School, Xavier University.

• Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. However, such candidates are required to have passed the qualifying examination at the time of their admission and must be able to submit proofs in support of their claims. No provisional admission shall be provided to those candidates who are not submitting the result of the qualifying examination (i.e. 10+2) at the time of admission.

• There will be no upper age limit for admissions to these programmes as prescribed by CLAT-2018.

• As regards minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2), the candidates must have secured 45% more from a recognized Board/Council of the respective State or at the National level.

• Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April, 2018 are also eligible to appear in CLAT-2018 online examination. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.

• The result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the Course.

• In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:

Higher marks in the component /section on legal aptitude in the CLAT-2018 exam;

Higher age & Computerised draw of lots

About College:

The Utkal University, established in the year 1943, is the seventeenth oldest University in India. Its present campus at Vani Vihar,BHUBANESWAR is located on a sprawling 399.9 Acre area in the heart of BHUBANESWAR, with the Sainik School to its north, National High way No.5 to its south, Regional Research Laboratory and Institute of Physics to its west and the South Eastern Railway line to its east. The Foundation stone of this Campus was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India on 1st January 1958 and the Campus was inaugurated by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the second President of India on 2nd January 1963. This is a teaching-cum-affiliating University. There are at present twenty-seven Post-Graduate Departments located in the University Campus for Post-Graduate studies and research in various disciplines of Science, Humanities, Business Administration, Social Science, Law and Commerce. The total number of students in the P.G. Department of the campus at Vani Vihar is nearly 3,000. This is in fact the largest affiliating University in the country with approximately 267 affiliated Colleges (Degree Colleges-219, Professional College-44, Other Constituent Colleges-2) under its jurisdiction.

The University has now the jurisdiction over 9 districts, viz, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Nayagarh and Puri and is spread over an area of 24,973 sq. kilometers catering to the needs of higher education of a population of more than 110 lakhs.

Master degree holders having secured at least 55% of marks in the above mentioned disciplines of Utkal University of Culture are eligible for Ph.D. Registration provided they qualify through an entrance test followed by an interview

Subject in which marks are not awarded equivalent grade point shall be taken as the qualifying grade/mark.

However, candidates belonging to SC/ST category and college teacher having 15-years of teaching experience shall be given relaxation of 5% marks at Master’s Degree level

Exemption from Entrance Test:

Candidates qualifying UGC-CSIR-NET-GET-ICAR-SLET-INSPIRE-RAJIV GANDHI NATIONAL FELLOW-FELLOWSHIP OF DST/ICHR/ICSSR/ICMR/DBT/Department of Culture, Govt. of  India and other National bodies/Awardees of Teachers Fellowship and such other fellowship as approved by the Vice-Chancellor from time to time are exempted from entrance test and interview

M.Phil Degree holders are also exempted from entrance test and interview provided they were admitted to the M.Phil programme through a written entrance test

Teachers of colleges/University/Institute of Higher Education and professionals with seven years teaching/professional experience shall be exempted from appearing the entrance test and interview

Forty (40) students shall be admitted to the MBA (Financial Management) formerly ‘MFC’ course in each academic session

Any graduate (First Bachelor Degree) with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST) of Utkal University or of any recognized university is eligible to apply

Students appearing in the Final Degree Examination 2016 can make a provisional application pending publication of results subject to meeting the minimum eligibility requirement at the time of interview

Selection Process for Utkal University MBA (Financial Management) Programme 2016: 

Selection of candidates for the MBA (Financial Management) formerly MFC course will be based on Entrance Test, Personal Interview and Group Discussion

An Entrance test (objective multiple choice type) will be conducted by the Dept of Commerce of Utkal University, Bhubaneswar

The test will be of 2 hours duration consisting of four sections of 50 questions each, as detailed below:

Section - (I) Test of English Language
Section - (II) Test of Numerical Aptitude
Section - (III) Data Analysis and Interpretation
Section - (IV) Test of Business and Financial Environment

On the basis of test performance, the shortlisted candidates will be called for a group discussion & psychological test followed by personal interview

Candidates called for written test and interview shall appear at their own cost. In all matters relating to admission, the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final
