Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Allahabad (MNNIT) is an Institute with total commitment to quality and excellence in academic pursuits. It was established as one of the seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges of India in the year 1961 as a joint enterprise of Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh, and was an associated college of University of Allahabad, which is the third oldest university in India. For a short duration of two years (2000-2002), the Institute was affiliated to U.P. Technical University. Eligibility:

i The eligibility conditions given below shall be considered to be the absolute minimum. Departments may prescribe any requirements over and above these.

ii Candidates must have minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 C.P.I. (Cumulative Performance Index on Ten point scale) in qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidate’s, minimum marks will be 55% aggregate or 6.0 CPI.

Eligibility:

i.              The eligibility conditions given below shall be considered to be the absolute minimum. Departments may prescribe any requirements over and above these.

ii.             Candidates must have minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 C.P.I. (Cumulative Performance Index on Ten point scale) in qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidate’s, minimum marks will be 55% aggregate or 6.0 CPI.

iii.            Reservation in the Programme shall be done as per the Government of India Rules

iv.           For Master of Technology (M.Tech.), the candidate must have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s degree in appropriate discipline of science as given in qualifying degree mapping

v.            For Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA), the candidate should have Bachelor Degree or equivalent of minimum three years duration in any discipline

vi.           Part time Students (M.Tech./MBA): Candidates under this category are admitted for the M.Tech./MBA programmes which are being offered on part-time basis. A Part-time candidate must have been in full time service for at least two years after completion of qualifying degree at the time of admission. The part-time classes shall be held in the evening on working days. Their semester load requirements for course work shall be about half of the full time course. The minimum duration of such course shall be of three years and maximum duration of the course shall be of five years. These courses are for the professionals working in the Allahabad district. Programmes offered will run subject to availability of sufficient number of candidates in respective programme. In case, if less number of candidates qualify for a particular programme of the department than the minimum required, then the candidates will have the option to switch to another M. Tech. programme based on their eligibility and subject to approval of competent authority. Executive MBA course will not operate if the number of seats filled is less than 1/3rd of the total seats.

vii.         Full time Sponsored

a.    Full-Time sponsored Masters' programmes students are those who receive financial support from AICTE under QIP scheme OR from Government/Semi-Government Institutions/Government/Semi-Government Organizations, under study leave. Such a candidate must be sponsored by his/her employer and must have been in employment with the sponsoring organization for at least two years at the time of admission. Candidates in service are to be released on study leave or extraordinary leave from the organization for full-time research work at the Institute and must furnish a sponsorship along with No-objection certificate from the employer.

b.    Foreign students shall be sponsored by their Government or awarded scholarship by Govt. of India, Indian Council for Culture Relations (ICCR) or other such agencies/organizations.

Application Procedure

I.             Applicants are required to submit their application through on-line application system using the portal https://academics.mnnit.ac.in/admission2020 only. “No other means of application shall be acceptable”.

II.           There are two steps in online application procedure

Step 1. Register by filling your personal details:

·         Please fill the correct details as required in the given field

·         an application ID, required for further processing, would be generated in this step

Step 2. Online filling of application form and online payment of application fees:

·         Log-in with application ID generated after step 1

·         prior to filling the online application form, please make sure that you have:

II.           Scanned copy of all your documents in pdf format (size up to 1 MB)

III.          Your passport size photograph in JPEG format (size up to 30 kb)

·         After login, follow the on-screen instructions to fill the online application form.

·         Application fee is Rs. 1200/- for each programme (For SC/ST category, application fee is Rs. 600.00 for each programme).

·         Fee payment is to be made online only.

·         After successful payment in online payment mode, an e-receipt will be generated by the admission portal. Keep this e-receipt with you for future communications.

·         Take a print out of the form, attach a photocopy of all required documents along with ereceipt and keep it safe for interview/physical reporting.

·         If a candidate is applying in more than one department, then he/she should fill separate application forms for each department.

Examination form and fees:

Forms are available on the university website, which can be submitted along with Online Payment or Demand Draft of Rs. 1100/- by (09th Jan, 2020). Eligibility

Candidates should have

·         A Master's Degree (bachelor’s degree obtained in 10+2+3 pattern, followed by a master’s degree ) or a 5 year Integrated Master’s Degree (obtained after completing higher secondary schooling in 10+2 pattern) in any discipline, with at least 55*# percent marks in the bachelor’s as well in the master’s degrees.

·         A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 50*# percent marks

·         A 4 year / 8 semesters Bachelor's degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent marks.

*The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice followed by the respective University/Institution. In case of grades / CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the respective University/ institution. If a University/institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result by 100.

# Five percent marks relaxation is given to applicants from SC, ST and PwD categories; i.e., these applicants should have scored at least 50%, 45% and 55% respectively depending on the qualification that the candidate has acquired.

The above qualification should be from any of the Universities, or other educational institutions, incorporated by an act of the Parliament or State legislature in India; or declared to be deemed as a University under Section3 of UGC Act, 1956, or, recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Candidates who are in the final year of the qualifying Programmes that would make them eligible can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 10, 2020 from the Principal/ Head of the Department / Registrar or Director of the University / Institute stating that they have appeared for the examinations (including practical examinations) in all the subjects required for obtaining the Master's / Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification. The deadline for submission of marks sheet and the Certificate is December 31, 2020. Please note that those candidates who have applied on the basis of their master's degree will have to meet the 55% marks stipulation, and those who have applied on the basis of their bachelor's degree will have to meet the 60% marks stipulation, or as applicable in the case of candidates from various social categories. Non-fulfillment of these conditions will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) was conceived as a ´Research Institute´ or ´University of Research´ by Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, in the final years of the 19th century.
