About College:

Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Allahabad (MNNIT) is an Institute with total commitment to quality and excellence in academic pursuits. It was established as one of the seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges of India in the year 1961 as a joint enterprise of Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh, and was an associated college of University of Allahabad, which is the third oldest university in India. For a short duration of two years (2000-2002), the Institute was affiliated to U.P. Technical University. With over 45 years of experience and achievements in the field of technical education, having traversed a long way, on June 26, 2002 MNREC was transformed into National Institute of Technology and Deemed University fully funded by Government of India. With the enactment of National Institutes of Technology Act-2007(29 to 2007), the Institute has been granted the status of institution of national importance w.e.f. 15.08.2007.

Ph.D. Research Scholars (full-time and part-time)

Eligibility:

i The eligibility conditions given below shall be considered to be the absolute minimum. Departments may prescribe any requirements over and above these.

ii Candidates must have minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 C.P.I. (Cumulative Performance Index on Ten point scale) in qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidate’s, minimum marks will be 55% aggregate or 6.0 CPI.

Ph.D. in Engineering

Master degree in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with marks not below 60% or CPI 6.5

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Master’s Degree in Science/Applied biological sciences/Computer Application or any appropriate discipline with a minimum of 75% marks or CPI 8.0.

Ph.D. in Management

Master’s Degree in Management/Technology/ Engineering/ Economics/ Commerce / Science / Computer Applications/Social Science with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CPI 6.5.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 75% marks or CPI 8.0,

OR

Qualified Chartered Accountant having minimum three years of professional experience as practicing Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 60% marks at both graduation level, as well as CA examination Ph.D. in Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS)

Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 60% Marks or CPI 6.5

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Pharmacy with marks not below 75% or CPI 8.0

Ph.D. in Geographic Information System (GIS) Cell

M.Tech. or equivalent in GIS & Remote Sensing/Civil Engineering/Computer Science and Engineering/ Electronics/Information Technology/Agriculture Engineering/Mining Engineering with a minimum marks 60% or CPI 6.5.

Course Name:

M.Tech. (Full time Sponsored) and M.Tech. (Part Time)

Executive MBA (Part Time)

Eligibility:

i.              The eligibility conditions given below shall be considered to be the absolute minimum. Departments may prescribe any requirements over and above these.

ii.             Candidates must have minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 C.P.I. (Cumulative Performance Index on Ten point scale) in qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidate’s, minimum marks will be 55% aggregate or 6.0 CPI.

iii.            Reservation in the Programme shall be done as per the Government of India Rules

iv.           For Master of Technology (M.Tech.), the candidate must have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s degree in appropriate discipline of science as given in qualifying degree mapping

v.            For Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA), the candidate should have Bachelor Degree or equivalent of minimum three years duration in any discipline

vi.           Part time Students (M.Tech./MBA): Candidates under this category are admitted for the M.Tech./MBA programmes which are being offered on part-time basis. A Part-time candidate must have been in full time service for at least two years after completion of qualifying degree at the time of admission. The part-time classes shall be held in the evening on working days. Their semester load requirements for course work shall be about half of the full time course. The minimum duration of such course shall be of three years and maximum duration of the course shall be of five years. These courses are for the professionals working in the Allahabad district. Programmes offered will run subject to availability of sufficient number of candidates in respective programme. In case, if less number of candidates qualify for a particular programme of the department than the minimum required, then the candidates will have the option to switch to another M. Tech. programme based on their eligibility and subject to approval of competent authority. Executive MBA course will not operate if the number of seats filled is less than 1/3rd of the total seats.

vii.         Full time Sponsored

a.    Full-Time sponsored Masters' programmes students are those who receive financial support from AICTE under QIP scheme OR from Government/Semi-Government Institutions/Government/Semi-Government Organizations, under study leave. Such a candidate must be sponsored by his/her employer and must have been in employment with the sponsoring organization for at least two years at the time of admission. Candidates in service are to be released on study leave or extraordinary leave from the organization for full-time research work at the Institute and must furnish a sponsorship along with No-objection certificate from the employer.

b.    Foreign students shall be sponsored by their Government or awarded scholarship by Govt. of India, Indian Council for Culture Relations (ICCR) or other such agencies/organizations.

How to Apply:

Application Procedure

I.             Applicants are required to submit their application through on-line application system using the portal https://academics.mnnit.ac.in/admission2020 only. “No other means of application shall be acceptable”.

II.           There are two steps in online application procedure

Step 1. Register by filling your personal details:

·         Please fill the correct details as required in the given field

·         an application ID, required for further processing, would be generated in this step

Step 2. Online filling of application form and online payment of application fees:

·         Log-in with application ID generated after step 1

·         prior to filling the online application form, please make sure that you have:

II.           Scanned copy of all your documents in pdf format (size up to 1 MB)

III.          Your passport size photograph in JPEG format (size up to 30 kb)

·         After login, follow the on-screen instructions to fill the online application form.

·         Application fee is Rs. 1200/- for each programme (For SC/ST category, application fee is Rs. 600.00 for each programme).

·         Fee payment is to be made online only.

·         After successful payment in online payment mode, an e-receipt will be generated by the admission portal. Keep this e-receipt with you for future communications.

·         Take a print out of the form, attach a photocopy of all required documents along with ereceipt and keep it safe for interview/physical reporting.

·         If a candidate is applying in more than one department, then he/she should fill separate application forms for each department.

How To Apply:

Admission Policy

Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences is a Christian Minority Educational Institute within the meaning of Article 30 (1) of the Constitution of India. Under this provision and as per the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, dated the 6th of December 1991, St. Stephen’s College, Delhi Vs. University of Delhi, and party overruled by the 11 Judges Constitution Bench in T.M.A. Pai Foundation v/s State of Karnataka dated 31st of October 2002, that 50% seats shall be reserved for the candidates of the Christian Community and the remaining 50% shall be allotted to general candidates strictly by merit. Christian Candidates are required to submit the following documents at the time of Counselling.

Manual Application Form

A common Application Form shall be applicable for all academic programmes irrespective of  Undergraduate, Postgraduate, B.Ed. B.P.Ed, M. Ed and Diploma for admission through Entrance Test or Direct Interview (excluding Ph.D). The Prospectus and Application Form can be obtained by sending a crossed bank draft for Rs. 450.00 or $30.00 in favour of the Registrar, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Allahabad by registered post.

Note: (Postal orders / Cheques or Money Orders are not acceptable). The Prospectus and Application Forms will be available on cash payment of Rs. 400.00 from the Registrar’s office on any working day i.e. from Monday to Friday (09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.).

Submission of Manual Application Form

The Application Forms A & B duly completed in all respect and accompanied with an Account Payee Bank Draft of prescribed Entrance Test/ Direct Interview Fee on Table No. 1 in favour of Registrar, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, payable at Allahabad or a University cash receipt of the aforesaid amount must reach The Registrar, SHIATS, Post. Agricultural Institute, Allahabad on or before May 18, 2011.

Admission Procedure

Admission to various Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes shall be done through ENTRANCE TEST strictly on merit. However, there are few programmes for which the admission procedure will be done through DIRECT INTERVIEW by the respective Schools (Table No. 2)
