AIIMS was created in 1956 to serve as a nucleus for nurturing excellence in all aspects of health care Creating a country imbued with a scientific culture was Jawaharlal Nehru's dream, and immediately after independence he prepared a grand design to achieve it. Among the temples of modern India which he designed, was a centre of excellence in the medical sciences. Nehru's dream was that such a centre would set the pace for medical education and research in Southeast Asia, and in this he had the wholehearted support of his Health Minister, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur.

Course Name:

·         Master of Biotechnology

Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility:

The candidate must possess a degree of MBBS,BDS and have secured at least 55% marks for General,OBC Candidates (50% for SC,ST candidates) or BVSc,B.Pharmacy or B.Sc degree course (3 years) or Bachelor of Physio-therapy (4½ years course),B.Tech (Biotechnology) with at least 60% marks for General,OBC candidates (55% for SC,ST candidates)

·         Master of Science MSc

Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility:

The candidate must possess a degree of MBBS,BDS and have secured at least 55% marks for General,OBC candidates (50% for SC,ST candidates) or BVSc, B.Pharmacy or B.Sc degree course (3 years) or Bachelor of Physio-therapy (4½ years course) with at least 60% marks for General,OBC candidates (55% for SC,ST candidates)

·         Bachelor of Science BSc Hons Nursing

Eligibility:

A  Candidate must have:

(i) Passed Senior Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised Board, University. Those who have done 10+1 on or before 1986 will also be eligible to apply. 

(ii) Obtained a Certificate in General Nursing and midwifery and be an 'A' Grade nurse, registered with State Nurses Registration Counicl. In case of male nurse, he should have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and, instead of training in Midwifery, training in any tow subjects out of the following: (a)Venereal Disease Nursing, (b) Tuberculosis Nursing, (c) Ophthaimic Nursing, (d)Psychiatry Nursing, (e)Operation Theatre Techniques for a period of three months in each. He should be an 'A' Grade nurse registered with the State Nurses Registration Council.

(iii) Worked for a minimum period of three years as a staff nurse in recognised hospital or as a Public Health Nurse, after obtaining the above mentioned certificates.

How to Apply:

Prospectus-cum-Application Form: There is a common instructions and application form for all the courses (only one application has to be submitted for the two Para-Medical courses)

The application fee is Rs 1000/- for General, OBC candidates (Rs 800/- in case of SC, ST candidates) inclusive of examination fee

On-line application: A candidate can submit application on-line through internet only

Visit www.aiims.edu, read the prospectus, help manual as well as other details carefully and follow the instructions given therein

The candidate can pay the application fee through a challan form (to be downloaded from internet while applying on-line) in any branch of State Bank of India

Transaction, Processing Fee (as applicable) will be payable to the Bank by the candidates
