About College:
Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh came into existence under Punjab Govt’s Desh Bhagat University Act. The university derives its spirit of foundation from freedom fighter Sr. Lal Singh Ji; who fought for the independence of India and in 1972 his efforts of social work & his services in the freedom struggle were recognized by awarding him with “Tamra Patra” by Govt. of India, hence the name Desh Bhagat was contemplated. DBU has been established with the mission of pursuing excellence in higher education as envisioned by Sr. Lal Singh Ji.
Desh Bhagat United has its campuses at Mandi Gobindgarh, Shri Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Chandigarh and Kenya. The University has been established with the lofty mission of pursuing excellence in higher education by providing the young students a distinct and unique combination of academic, professional and personal development.

Eligibility:
Eligibility and Selection Procedure for Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Desh Bhagat University, DBU, Mandi Gobindgarh
Candidates must have a master’s degree in the concerned subject from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks. B+ grade at Master's Degree (SC/ST and physically challenged/disabled candidates will get 5% relaxation in Post-Graduation marks).
Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination but their Results are still awaited, can appear in the entrance test but they will have to submit the original certificates of the qualifying examination before the commencement of the program.

Candidates can apply online.
Candidates have to pay Entrance Test Fee of Rs. 4000/- (Rs.3000/- Test Fee + Rs 1000/- Form Fee).
Note: The candidates seeking exemption from entrance test will have to apply for the same by filling up the application form for exemption. The form can be obtained from the office of Dean Research with a payment of Rs. 1000.
Selection Procedure for Desh Bhagat University:
Selection will be done on the basis of Entrance test and Interview conducted by the university.
Conditions for exemption from the Entrance Test:
Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET/CSIR (JRF) Examination/SLET/GATE or are Teacher fellowship holders or DST (INSPIRE/ICMR/any other National Agency Fellow or have Ph.D. Degree in any other subject from a recognized University, are exempted from appearing in the entrance test.
Candidates who have obtained M.Phil degree with minimum B+ grade or equivalent from Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh or any other recognized University as a regular student and whose admission at the M.Phil level has been through an entrance test.
