About College:

Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University was established in the year 1985 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh with an act in the Legislative Assembly. In the year 1990 this University received UGC recognition under 2 (F) and 12-B. National Assessment and Accreditation Council has awarded accreditation with Grade 'B'. The main objective of this University is to preserve, promote and propagate Telugu culture, language, literature fine arts, performing arts and history. To achieve this, the University has started research, courses, publication and other extension activities in these areas.

Considering the importance of Distance mode of Education, to reach the unreached, our University established the Centre for Distance Education in the year 2001 with a unique post graduate course in Astrology. In a short span of time, this course gained popularity within and out side India. This Centre now offers 16 Courses at Certificate, Diploma, Under Graduate and Post Graduate levels in specialized areas like Performing Arts, Language, Literature, Journalism, Astrology and Culture. Launched with a moderate strength of 300 students, the centre now aims to fulfill the aspirations of over 4,000 students spread across India and five other countries. The courses offered by the Centre were duly recognized by

the Distance Education Council (DEC), a wing of Indira Gandhi National Open University, in May 2010. Apart from the main campus at Hyderabad, the centre serves from four other campuses situated at Rajahmundry, Srisailam, Warangal and Kuchipudi. This Centre offers only such courses that are fully supported by the regular departments in the University.

This Prospectus contains the detailed information of all the courses conducted by the Centre for Distance Education. I wish, this Prospectus will help the students for successful completion of their courses.
