Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kottayam has announced the exam dates for MGU Common Admission Test (MGU-CAT 2016), which will be conducted in May 2016. The MGU-CAT will be held from Saturday, May 21, 2016 and Sunday, May 22, 2016. MGU-CAT is conducted for taking admission to Master of Arts (M.A), integrated Master of Science Doctor of Philosophy (M.Sc+Ph.D), M.Sc, Master of Law (LL.M) and Master of Tourism Management (MTM) programs offered in various specializations for the year 2016.

Eligibility Criteria for MGU-CAT 2016:

For M.A Programs: Candidates should have bachelor’s degree in the faculty of Social Sciences with not less than 45% marks (or CGPA of 1.8) in part III.

For MTM Program: Candidates should have bachelor’s degree (including professional degrees) with not less than 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) in any discipline of this university or any other university recognized by Mahatma Gandhi University.

For LL.M Program: Candidates should have LL.B with not less than 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) in the aggregate.

How to Apply:

Application Procedure for MGU-CAT 2016:

·         Candidates can apply online.

·         Candidates should pay Rs 500/- per each program, cluster of programs listed as a single option for general candidates.

·         Candidates should pay Rs 250/- per each program, cluster of programs listed as a single option for SC, ST candidates from Kerala.

·         Registration fee has to be paid online using internet banking, debit, credit, cash cards.

Paper Pattern for MGU-CAT 2016:

·         The common entrance test is of 90 minutes duration.

·         The test will comprise objective type multiple choice questions for all the PG programs except for those in School of Letters, School of Tourism Studies, and School of Indian Legal Thought for which both multiple choice questions and descriptive type questions will be asked.

Important Dates:

Last date for submission of online application form: Saturday, May 06, 2016.

Download of hall tickets: Monday, May 13, 2016.

Date for MGU-CAT: Saturday, May 21, 2016 and Sunday, May 22, 2016.

Declaration of result: Thursday, June 02, 2016.
