About College:
Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), New Delhi was established in 1914. The college and hospital was formally opened by Lord Hardinge the then viceroy of India on in 1916. Since 1950, the college has been affiliated to University of Delhi. In view of considerable demand for post-graduate students, post-graduate courses were started in 1954 in affiliation with Punjab University and later on with University of Delhi in 1956. To start with only female post-graduate students were admitted, but since 1970 both males and female students are being enrolled for various postgraduate courses.
Presently LHMC is admitting 92 PG candidates. Post Graduate admission will be increased in the coming years to implement OBC reservation. Starting in 1916 with only 80 beds for the departments of Medicine, Obstetrics and gynecology, LHMC has now bed strength of 877 beds in Smt. S.K. Hospital and 370 beds in KalawatiSaran Children Hospital. A separate outpatient block was started in 1958 to cater to the needs of ever increasing population of Delhi.

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for BSc Nursing in Lady Hardinge Medical College, LHMC, New Delhi
Minimum Qualification: Candidate seeking admission to first year B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing course must have passed the examination as listed below:
Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination/Indian School Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent from recognized board with a minimum of 50% in aggregate (45% for S/C S/T & OBC candidates) or more marks in the aggregate of four subjects including English Core Elective, Physics, Chemistry and Biology provided the student has passed in each subject separately
Age Limit: Minimum age requirement is 17 year as on 31st December, 2016
The Vice-Chancellor may, however, on the basis of individual merit relax the age up to a maximum period of one year
Only women candidates are eligible for the course
Working knowledge of Hindi is necessary
Reservation: The reservation for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be as per Govt rules out of the total number of seats made available for admission

Application Form: Prospectus and prescribed application forms for the session 2016-17 can be obtained from College of Nursing, LHMC and associated Hospitals, New Delhi by submitting attested copies of 12th class mark sheet and 10th class certificate for age proof and on submission of demand draft/banker’s cheque amounting to Rs 250/- (Rs two hundred fifty only) payable at New Delhi favouring the Director, LHMC and Associated Hospitals, New Delhi
Application forms can be obtained either in person or by post
Conduct certificate from the Principal of the last School attended
Letter of authority from parent from Guardian if parents are not alive) expressing their willingness to join the course
Letter of authority from parent stating the name of local guardian with address and telephone Number (LL/MOB)
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC Certificate from a Divisional Magistrate, if applicable; self addressed envelope with Rs.25/- stamp affixed
Acknowledgement card with address of candidate and Rs.10/- stamp affixed
Legal document in case of widow/Divorcee (Attested copy)
Admission ticket with candidate’s Name and Father’s Name filled by candidate and with candidate’s signature are to be sent in duplicate with 2 passport size unattested photographs affixed (same copies as on the form)
Passport size photograph affixed on form duly signed by the candidate and attested by the Principal of the School last attended or a Gazetted Officer
Attestation signature and seal should be half on the photograph and half on the form
The prospectus and admission form for admission to B.Sc (Hons) Nursing course can also be downloaded from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare website http://mohfw.nic.in and the same may be submitted along with the demand draft/Banker cheque
A candidate seeking admission to College of Nursing, shall submit completed application on the prescribed form
