Genesis
On Hallowed Grounds
Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirapalli (IIMT) is the eleventh IIM and was instituted on January 4, 2011 by the Hon’ble Minister for HRD and Telecommunication, Shri Kapil Sibal, under the patronage of the Government of India and the stewardship of IIM-B. Tiruchirapalli is a prominent city for art and culture. IIMT is building its sprawling permanent campus spread over 172 acres of land on Trichy-Pudukottai highway, 12 km from Tiruchirappalli International Airport and in the interim the institute is functioning from NIT Tiruchirappalli.

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) [Specialization in: 1. Finance and Accounting 2. Marketing 3. Economics 4. Quantitative Techniques 5. Operations Management] (Equivalent to PhD) Admission 2016
Eligibility:
Eligibility and Selection Procedure for Fellow Programme in Management FPM in Indian Institute of Management, IIM, Tiruchirappalli
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent to apply for IIMT’s Doctoral Programme
A Master Degree in any discipline, with at least 55% marks, with a bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification with at-least 50% marks obtained after a minimum of three years of education
Five years/four year Integrated Master’s Degree Programme in any discipline, with at least 55% marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent
A professional; qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55% marks
4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree with least 55% marks or equivalent grade point average; and
Have a score of CAT or GMAT or GATE or GRE or UGC-JRF or UGC-NET
Validity of score: Two years from the date of the test and valid as on date of submission of the FPM application
Relaxation: Candidates possessing PGDM of IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.33 or equivalent will be eligible for applying directly, without again taking a qualifying exam
The Master's degree or equivalent qualification/Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification should be from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions estd by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University u/s 3of UGC Act, 1956; or recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt of India
Candidates who are in the final year of their qualifying degree programme that would make them eligible can also apply
Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Dept/Registrar or Director of the university/institute stating that they have appeared for the examinations (including practical examinations) in all the subjects required for obtaining the Master's/Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification
Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Master's / Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal/Registrar of their college/institute
Non fulfillment of these conditions will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission
Selection Procedure: Shortlisted candidates will be called to Tiruchirappalli for a research proposal presentation on a research topic followed by an interview
Selection will be based on the applicant’s performance in CAT/GMAT/GATE/GRE/UGC-JRF/UGC-NET as applicable, past academic performance, work experience, aptitude for research and performance during the research proposal presentation and the personal interview

These recommendation letters will have to be completed by two referees and attached with the print out of the completed application form and should be sent to IIMT along with a demand draft for Rs 500/- favouring Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli and payable at Trichy
